Notes:
This list covers coins that were available as mail-in redemptions, early prototypes and coins that were produced but never officially
released due to the lack of interest towards the end of the Power of the Force action figure run. These coins were originally intended for
packaging with action figures, but these figures were never produced for the Power of the Force line. While some cards for the
prospective figures were produced, none of the coins listed below were ever packaged with a figure. Most are mail-in redemption
coins, but there were several prototypes produced that have appeared on the secondary market (at auction) mainly from
sources within Kenner.
The Mail-In Offer was promoted on ROTJ card backs. The offer required one to send a Proof of Purchase Seal to redeem a Star
Wars: Power of the Force Coin that would be randomly selected by Kenner from about 30 Coins that had been minted at the time.
There were no limitations to the number of coins one could redeem.
The second way to redeem the Mail-In Offer coins was basically a secret. Kenner kept receiving letters of complaint because there
was no way to redeem a full set of all 62 coins. Kenner sent a letter to the fans that wrote them after receiving one too many
complaints and directed them to send a note specifying they wanted the full set and $29 to them and Kenner would send the
complete 62 Coin set to the redeemer. Fan Club members were also provided this information. Beyond that, it wasn’t made public
or ever printed as an offer on action figure card backs.
One could also choose to buy a “Power of the Force” action figure (see Power of the Force checklist) that came with a coin and
collect them that way. But even if one bought all the figures that were released, one would only have a little over half of the full
collection. The POTF release was cut short and they only released 37 total figures, two of which were not available in the U. S.
(Anakin Skywalker and Yak Face).
The regular released coins were silver and 2-sided with the backside having either a ‘Power of the Force’ text logo with 1
vertical line below the words ‘Power of the Force’ or 2 vertical lines below it or they had a ‘Star Wars’ text logo. The ‘Star Wars’ coin
back text logo seems to be the one that appears on the more common coins. The POTF with 1 vertical line appears to be on the
more rare coins. The POTF with 2 vertical lines appears on both common and rare coins.
35 different coins were packaged with 37 Power of the Force Action Figures (Warok’s coin was packaged with
Warok, the AT-AT
Driver and Nikto) and 27 were produced for future waves of action figures that never came to be. These 27 coins became Mail-In
Exclusives and are quite rare and highly coveted by collectors. There is an elusive 63rd coin that saw limited production called
the ‘Jedi Knight’ coin. Below is a list of the known mail-in redemption coins, produced but unreleased prototypes, variations
and errors of these rare ‘Power of the Force’ coins. The name on the front top and bottom of the coin is listed first, followed by a
description of the prototype and any known variations and errors in manufacturing.

Note: Offered on a proposed but unreleased 93 figure Power of the Force Action Figure card back. In order to redeem, Kenner was
going to ask that customers send 3 proofs-of-purchase & $1. This album and the ‘63rd’ coin were shelved after demand for Star
Wars Merchandise began to fade. This is an ‘Unreleased Prototype’ and a few have appeared on the secondary market (at
auction) mainly from sources within Kenner. The prototype is cardboard glue and felt; it is assumed that the finished product
