Wonder Festival Summer'09 Exclusive Carded Chewbacca


Wonder Festival Summer'09 takes place on July 26th in Japan and once again there will be an exclusive Star Wars Kubrick item - a Carded Chewbacca. This Chewie will set you back 1575 Yen and is limited to 1000 pieces. As usual, only 500 pieces will be sold at the show and the other 500 pieces will be offered via the Medicom website (Japan only)!

BioWare has unveiled the Smuggler, a playable class in the upcoming MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic. The smuggler class is described as being slick, sneaky, and street-smart. "Ask Sideshow" Questions Answered 06/10/09


Sideshow Collectibles has posted another edition of its "Ask Sideshow" Questions Answered feature. This edition only features two Star Wars related questions. In short - Sideshow confirms there will be Empire Strikes Back characters in the future of the 1:6 scale line, that all future releases will utilize either the trooper or Prometheus body, and that the SSC staff have discussed the Landspeeder for the 1:6 scale. R2-D2 Easter Egg in Star Trek


StarWars.com has revealed the location of R2-D2's cameo in Paramount's Star Trek. During the Drill Machine sequence above Vulcan, after the Enterprise completes a barrel roll amidst the debris of destroyed Federation ships, we cut to an interior shot on the Enterprise bridge. Over Kirk's shoulder, R2-D2 can be found somewhere in the debris on the front viewscreen.

Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron Preview


Our friends over at Kotaku have just posted a preview of the Playstation Portable third-person shooter based off of the successful StarWars Battlefront series. Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron is still in production but is nearly complete and the reviewer is overall very pleased with the overall package. You'll of course be able to fight it out in the trenches, but you'll also be able to take to the skies and space. Elite Squadron will be shipping this Fall; we'll keep you up to date.

Clone Wars: Decide Your Destiny for Young Readers


We've just got word of yet another series of books coming to young readers from Penguin Books. Clone Wars: Decide Your Fate is a "choose your fate" format that allows the reader to control the destiny of the characters. In an especially unique twist, this adventure will also provide secret codes where the reader can continue the story online. Two books will be available at launch, The Way of the Jedi and Tethan Battle Adventure. The UK will be getting these books in July, North America is going to have to wait for future notice.

Death Star Control Room Found



Here's a cool find item on StarWars.com. Most people peg the retro blinking lights and switcher lever seen in A New Hope’s Death Star control room as belonging to some sort of video production facility. An intrepid fan, however, found the Death Star control room in a Los Angeles steam plant last Christmas, and snapped a bunch of reference photos for his Flickr account.

New Clone Wars Series For Young Readers


This from StarWars.com, coming this fall is an all-new Clone Wars series of books for young readers. This series is called Secret Missions and is comprised of a brand new cast of characters. A Jedi general vanishes to a distant world, leaving his young apprentice and a group of untested clone troopers to complete a dangerous secret mission. The first chapter, Breakout Squad, written by Ryder Windham, is due this September from Penguin Books.

Custom Chop Shop Wrap-Up


And we're back. Back again. Chop Shop's back. Tell a friend. I decided to do things a little different this week. We are going to have a special 'Throwback-Edition" of the Chop Shop. We'll take a look back at some of the best customs and dioramas of years past. I had to highlight my favorite Dagobah diorama, a fantastic modular Death Star playset/diorama, and a Darth Revan that more than holds its own against the Hasbro version. Compared to the past few weeks, where SSC has given us scores of hints on upcoming Star Wars product, this edition doesn't throw many bones. It does confirm, though, that SSC will not revisit characters that have already been produced (ie. Jedi Luke) anytime soon.

Just When You Thought You Were Done Buying Gunships...


Prototype images of a slightly retooled Republic Gunship have surfaced today. Most of the ship's body appears to have remained the same, but Hasbro has added doors that close all the way so the Gunship is fit for spaceflight. Star Wars: The Old Republic Trailer


BioWare and LucasArts made a huge splash on the first day of E3 2009 with an all new trailer for the upcoming MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Even if you have no interest in the game, you should check out the trailer. It is phenomenal and it really makes you wish they were making a movie out of it.
