New Review: Governor Tarkin

Jedi Defender.com comes out swinging again at yet another of Hasbro's figures from Revenge of the Sith. A character I debated whether or not I really wanted to see him in Episode 3, Governor Tarkin had the briefest of cameos and it worked out really well as a tie-in to the classic trilogy. Did his figure turn out so great? He's not too shabby, but no figure is perfect it seems and Tarkin is no exception.

Read the Full Review Right Here on everyone's favorite creepy old Imperial Officer for all his good and bad points I dredge up. And as always, come visit our Review Forum Section to talk about this figure or give your own reviews!

A Galaxy Torn Apart...

...An Empire At War. This hotly anticipated Real-Time Strategy Game is shaping up to be a nice improvement upon a gaming format that Star Wars hasn't exactly excelled at in the past.

The Empire At War Official Site has the game's first trailer up already, complete with a rampaging Rancor eating someone (Tastes like Fleet Trooper!) right off the battlefield... It could happen I guess? Make sure to head over and check it out, as the game certainly looks pretty good so far.

Articulation galore, cloth/softgoods, and lots of accessories all make for a pretty special figure for your hard-earned $6!

Changes To Hasbro's Current Wave...

The above image was cropped off the cardback of the ROTS III-54 AT-RT Driver. That's right, the III-54 figure has had its name changed from the Turbo Tank Driver to the AT-RT Driver. You'll also notice that the names of the next two figures have been swapped -- III-55 is now Obi-Wan Kenobi and III-56 is now the Mustafar Sentry. Hasbro's always keeping us on our toes!

    ROTS Helps Hasbro In Q2

Hasbro reports a hefty rise in profits, thanks mostly in part to high sales in the Star Wars license (duh! ;) ). The telling words of Hasbro officials though are that toys based around the Revenge of the Sith film have done much better than those for The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones in 1999 and 2002 respectively. Battlepacks & Evolutions At K-Mart

We're getting word that the first Battlepacks and Evolutions sets are starting to show up at retail. It seems as though K-Mart is the first to strike this time around (as they were when they broke the 4/2 streetdate for ROTS figures). So start hitting those K-Mart stores you've been avoiding, the hunt is back on.

    UPDATE:

I found the Jedi Vs. Sith battlepack tonight myself at K-Mart, and word from more than a couple of my local collecting friends say the Anakin Evolutions set was found for around $18. Not a bad price on a nice set, but prices vary at K-Mart stores so your mileage may as well.

    Holo Leia Will Visit Oz

The Holographic Leia that is an exclusive to the San Diego Comic Con may not be so exclusive after all. Australians will be happy to hear that Leia will be showing up in K-Marts in the Land of Oz, as reported by Mousedroid.com.

Will any U.S. retailers be carrying Holo Leia? StarWars.com previously mentioned that she may show up on StarWarsShop.com if supplies are available after Comic Con. Cross your fingers!
