Look for more new large scale vinyl figures from Kotobukiya in 2005. To start with, 2 new figures from the desert planet of Tatooine: An Imperial Sandtrooper and the fearsome Tusken Raider! Droids Boba Fett Kubrick Released!
Released this weekend in Japan is everyone's favorite Bounty Hunter decoed as he was in his cartoon appearances. 500 were released at the Wonder Festival and an additional 1504 will be released via the Medicom Collectors Club (Japanese Residents Only) via a lottery. Those of us not in Japan will have to resort to either eBay or the trade boards for this beauty. So, you may want to wait on those bids in hopes for a price drop when the secondary market supply increases!

AotC Galactic Heroes Arrive
Reports are coming in from JD.com readers that the second wave of Playskool's Galactic Heroes is starting to show up at retail! This wave, which is based on Attack of the Clones, features Padme/Anakin, Yoda/Clone Trooper, and Obi-Wan/Jango Fett 2-packs, as well as the hold-over Chewie/C-3PO set that was missing from initial shipments of the first wave. These great sets retail for about $5 each and should be surfacing soon at a Target or Meijer store near you!

X-Wing and TIE Fighter '95 PC Compatibility Fix Patch?
Old games, but considered among the greatest PC titles with the Star Wars label on them, there's currently a patch out there for those interested in playing their X-Wing and TIE Fighter '95 CD's who have more modern Operating System's on their PC (I still run Windows 98 if you can believe that, so I've not needed a patch).

A certain "Angry Ewok" here is bound to be pleased by the news out of StarWars.com of the impending release of the Droids and Ewoks Cartoon Series to DVD... Or at least for the Ewoks release anyway! These are a much demanded release by fans of the two Saturday Morning Cartoon Series though, and these are sure to be a hit among the older crowd who recall these 'toons. I certainly am anxious for the Droids set myself!

A&E Bringing Us Another Star Wars Special
Keep your eyes peeled to the A&E (Arts & Entertainment) Network on September 12, 2004 at 8:00 PM, as this is the night for their latest special, Star Wars: Empire of Dreams!

PSWCS Celebrates 4-year Anniversary

Today, just 273 days from Episode 3, marks the 4th anniversary of the first meeting of the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society (PSWCS.com). What started as 10 people who met at a public library near Harrisburg has grown to nearly 200 collectors from all corners of Pennsylvania who E-mail each other daily to discuss the collecting hobby. Online conversations range from reports of what has (or more commonly what has NOT) arrived at local stores, to opinions on the latest toy line to just about anything Star Wars.

Miniatures Are Making A Big Splash At Gen Con
Starting today (August 19-22), Gen Con kicks off the largest gaming convention of its kind out in Indianapolis. And right there along for the ride is Wizards Of The Coast, displaying their new Collectible Star Wars Miniatures Game.
A far cry from the original Star Wars Miniatures Games, it's worth a look, and if you're in Indianapolis right now, the con itself is always huge for bringing back the old West End Games Tabletop Miniature Battles game as well. Go check it out because it's something to behold!

While checking out Sideshow Collectibles Star Wars page this evening, I see that they have updated with the picture above of Darth Vader and the "Coming Soon" text - which is exactly what they still have Han Solo listed as. So I guess this means Darth Vader is the next figure in the Sideshow line, as we originally mentioned in our San Diego Comic-Con report.

Hasbro Carrying Cases
Hasbro has updated with the details on their upcoming C-3PO and Darth Vader Carrying Cases. The cases will store up to 30 figures and will both include Exclusive Figures. At first this will be Han and Chewie in the C-3PO case and Boba Fett and Stormie in the Vader case. These figures will change later on in the release as a running change. No word on who the next figures will be.
