Decisions, Decisions... Jedi Style

Knights of the Old Republic II: Sith Lords is possibly one of the most hotly anticipated (certainly for Star Wars fans) games of the season, and now Lucasarts has launched a website for the game.

Click the ominous image of a Jedi's choices above, and learn all about the game, view screen shots and concept art, or download wallpaper and screen savers. Also read about the new tweaks and changes to the KOTOR gaming experience!

There Is Another!

Just posted in our forums is the true Chase figure of Series 3! Its the Ewok Medicine Man Logray. We're going to call Hibernation Sickness Han a Variant (ala the Cantina Band Member and Sandtroopers of Series 2) and Logray the Chase (ala Indiana Jones). No signs of them on eBay as of yet but they should start appearing very soon! Happy Hunting and keep checking JediDefender for all of your Kubricky News.

UPDATE: Looks like the final variation in this set is an accessory variation with the Jawa, who comes with either a blaster, or little droid control comlink gadget (ala the Band Member instrument variants in the last series). Thanks again to Simon for the scoop! So that's 9 "unique" figures altogether. Good luck!

Kubrick Series 3 Boxed Images

As Matt has already pointed out, Kubrick Series 3 is now out in Asia! Here is a shot of the boxed images of the 6 figures. As far as we can tell, so far there is only one chase figure confirmed and that is a "Hibernation Sickness" Han Solo that is packed in the Carbon Freeze Han Box. As more auctions start to pop up perhaps a variant or another chase figure will also be revealed. Stay tuned!

Series 3 Kubrick Chase Figure Revealed...

Our resident Kubrick King, Simon (Hes No Good to Me Dead), chimes in with news and a picture of the first upcoming Chase/variant figure for the Series 3 Star Wars Kubricks that were just released this week in Asia. It's none other than "Hibernation Sickness Han", which goes along nicely with the Carbonite Block that will be one of the "regular figures" in this series. No word yet on whether a second Chase figure will be coming, but stay tuned, as we promise to bring you any and all breaking Star Wars Kubrick news first, here at JD!

John Lowry Interview

Apple.com has an interesting little article and interview with John Lowry, head of Lowry Digital Images - the people responsible for cleaning up the Original Trilogy DVD's. The article also has a few interesting before and after screenshots, as well. Personally, I think they did a great job on the transfer, and it's not their fault GL wanted a whole bunch of new crap added in.

Hasbro Q&A

File this one under the "Don't believe everything you read" category. Hasbro has confirmed that the Rabe/Dorme packaging mystery was indeed an error that was caught before wide scale release. There will not be a Dorme figure released. Also of note, the Missle-less Boba Fett's packed in the OTC Slave 1 is also an error.

Star Wars Supports The Troops?

Well, not our troops around the world currently, but it was brought to my attention how Star Wars figures are being used to whip up kitbashed prototypes for new figures in some of the military toy lines out there.

These particular figures are prototypes of BBI's new Elite Force figures, and are either rough prototypes of some sort, or some kind of new venture into a sci-fi military toy line. Either way, I thought you readers may find the way they're incorporating Star Wars figure parts into these "kitbashes" a little interesting.

Thanks to my buddy Harley for pointing these out to me, and click to read on for the rest of the story! They're something weird, for sure.

Defender Wishlists II: The Empire Strikes Back

Last year we ran an informal poll with your 10 most wanted characters from the current 5 Star Wars films. With the recent DVD release, an OT heavy year in 2004, and most of the plans done until Episode III, I thought it would be a good time to revisit those lists. Here's how it works: You send your Wish List for your 10 most wanted 3 3/4" figures to me, be it new figures, resculpts or even re-releases, and I'll tally the votes. After three weeks of list taking I'll publish the results and we will move on to the next movie. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is up this time. If you need help coming up with names check out the Official Site's Databank: Episode V. Entries will be taken by e-mail: spearson@jedidefender.com or you can post them in our forum!!! Have fun and thanks for sending in your lists (remember to limit it to ten)!

Defender Wishlists II: A New Hope RESULTS

The votes have been cast and the results are in! For the second straight year, the Arcona, Hem Dazon is the most requested figure from A New Hope. The first alien seen in the Cantina is certainly a worthy choice.

#1 Hem Dazon (Arcona)
#2 CZ-3
#3 R5-D4 (Resculpt)
#4 Bom Vimdin (Advose)
#5 Grand Moff Tarkin (Resculpt)
#6 Tonnika Sisters Two Pack
#7 General Tagge
#8 Owen Lars
#9 Wioslea
#10 Biggs Darklighter (Academy Cut Scene)

2005 Cantina Wave v2

So, you'd really like to pre-order the 2005 Cantina wave, but you're tired of buying Cantina Han Solo, right?

Well, you're in luck! JD.com sponsor Entertainment Earth has a new case listing for the Cantina Wave, 2005 Wave 2, Revision 2. This case differs from 2005 Wave 2, Revision 1 by dumping the 2005 carded versions of Han, Chewie, and Yoda and replacing them with 2005 carded versions of Dagobah Luke, Darth Vader, and an extra Felitpern. Head on over to pre-order your case today (or just head on over for a sneak peek at the 2005 carded re-hash figures)!

Episode 3 Preview Figures

It appears that most of our favorite e-tailers have received new 2005 product info from Hasbro this week! Here's a look at the case assortment for the Episode 3 Preview wave, due first quarter of 2005:

SW E3 BASIC FIGURE ASST W3R1
Case Assortment: 85172000B
4x Figure #1 - 85362
4x Figure #2 - 85365
2x Figure #3 - 85363
2x Figure #4 - 85361

Why are there no figures named directly? Once again, Hasbro and Lucas are trying to keep a lid on things for spoiler reasons. For Episode 3, retailers will be working under advertising restrictions very similar to the big Episode 2 launch. None of the big box retailers will be able to advertise ANY Episode 3 products before the official street date (April 2nd, 2005). Of course, that won't stop us from bringing you the news as soon as we have it!

Spaceballs 2? There Goes The Planet

Not Star Wars, but close to it in a way, is the Spaceballs film by Mel Brooks. Well, Brooks recently leaked in an interview that he's actually working on a script to Spaceballs 2, and may reappear in the series.

In the interview Brooks says the best case scenario would be that it'd see release just before Episode 3, and worst case would be about a year after Episode 3. Pretty good news since the spoof Spaceballs was a very funny look at our shared favorite film series! Can't wait for the return of Lord Helmet, and here's to hoping this project sees the big screen!
