Questions for Hasbro? - Session 54
On May 30th, we sent another batch of questions to Hasbro for their Star Wars Question and Answer feature. Today, we've got the answers to those three questions and a follow-up from last week!
1. Will the non-exclusive Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes be ready for the 7/26 launch? At Toy Fair, you thought that the Vader TIE set and the Obi-Wan Starfighter set would both be ready, but weren’t sure about the AotC Arena set and the Tatooine Dewback set. And what about the two TRU sets (Rancor and AT-RT), will those be out on 7/26?
** The new ones are running late, so first up will be a national release of the former Target exclusives. After that, the new ones should come up about a month after. The TRU exclusives will probably be in store by September.
2. Will the Battle Packs for The Legacy Collection and The Clone Wars be shipped under one assortment number or will they be shipped under separate numbers? And since there is some conflicting info floating around, can you confirm for us that the “Speeder Bike Recon” and “B’omarr Monastery” packs mentioned/shown at Toy Fair are indeed based on the Clone Wars animation?
** Battle Packs for both The Legacy Collection and Clone Wars will indeed ship under the same assortment number, sharing case packs. The two you asked about are indeed animated Clone Wars-themed sets.
3. Most folks are gobbling up the German Truck, Troop Car, and Russian Jungle Cutter from the Indy vehicles line. What can we expect to see from the vehicle line as the summer goes by? Will we have to wait long for something new to join the line or should we settle into expecting just those three for the summer?
** That will be it for the vehicles until later in the Fall. It's still too early to tell when the next one will be available, but we should have more info at Toy Fair.
And, a follow-up from last week:
1. In an earlier Q&A, you said that you hoped to squeeze a 5th Sandtrooper variant (Clean with Black Pauldron) into the Saga Legends assortment before the end of the line in June. So far though, the only Sandtrooper that has shipped with the Fans’ Choice Legends is the Clean, White Pauldron Sandtrooper figure. Will the Clean, Black Pauldron version make it out before July 26th or has it been dropped from the plans?
** With all the requested deco changes, it has been a very confusing task to sort out for all parties. We are still showing that a quantity did ship to retail, but it's possible that a substitution was made at the factory level, like for an older deco. This may have happened because we have been using the same UPC/product # for the variants and this may have slipped through the cracks. We will check on it and get back to you.
6/6 Update -
** We did follow up on this, and found out what we suspected was the case: the version was not changed from the white to the black pauldron at the factory level. Unfortunate, but we can confirm that this version did not get a widespread release. So... we will look to bring this version into the line somewhere, probably as a refresh in the new Saga Legends Spring '09 wave.
