Exclusive Interview with JediDefender

Star Wars Image Gallery
It was the first day of Wizard World
Chicago. I had
my cameras ready to take a lot of pictures of all the new
Hasbro toys that will soon be available.
I had my press pass ready to ask questions to
everyone relating to Star Wars.
I was ready for anything.
At least that’s what I thought.
The first thing I did when I was let into the convention
center was to get in line to hopefully get my hands on one
of those Blue Clone Trooper busts from Gentle Giant.
Many rumors have been floating around the Internet
about how many of them were actually available.
I was so excited about getting one of these,
especially since I was one of the first people in line to
purchase one. Unfortunately
one of the employees of Gentle Giant made a startling
announcement saying, “We will be raffling off 25 of these
busts at
3:00pm
. 300 tickets
will be handed out. If
your ticket is called you will have the opportunity to
purchase one.” I
freaked out. I
started to hyperventilate.
That was one of the main reasons why I wanted to go
to Wizard World Chicago, but now my chances became 1-in-300.
So, with that one ticket, waiting until
3:00pm
felt like eternity.
My day continued on. I
stopped by the Hasbro booth, and took several pictures of
their Star Wars toys. Some
items I have already seen on the Internet, but seeing them
in person was so much different for me.
I felt like a little kid walking through the entrance
at
Disneyworld
for the very first time.
My eyes were wide open.
My camera was snapping up pictures left and right.
I was really starting to have a great time there.
After taking pictures I decided it was time for me to stand
in line for the Silver Boba Fett figure, which was being
handed out by Mary Franklin (Marketing Director for Paizo
Publishing). The
line looked pretty small at first, but after getting to the
end of line I noticed it wasn’t moving.
It was at a dead stop.
I should have known that the line was going to be
pretty slow, because they were one of the few vendors who
were allowing the use of credit card purchasing.
Plus, something that was done very well, was that if
you weren’t satisfied with your one or two Silver Boba
Fett figures, they would pull two more figures out of a box
for you to choose from.
So if you were getting two figures you would have
been able to choose from a total of four figures.
That worked well, because the original two that I had
gotten were in pretty bad condition.
After getting my Silver Boba Fett I decided to buy some
goodies for myself, and that wasn’t too hard since there
were so many vendors there.
If there was something you wanted to buy, you had so
many places to choose from to get that particular item.
Surprisingly most vendors who were selling Star Wars
items were very reasonable with their prices, but of course
there were the select few who were just outrageously
overpricing everything they had in stock.
Overall, it was a fantastic day, but unfortunately I
didn’t win a chance to purchase that Blue Clone Trooper
bust. Oh well.
There’s always Saturday and Sunday that I can try.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
