Title: Monthly Customizing Challenge - Month 8: Rebel Troopers
Post by: CHEWIE on November 28, 2005, 12:31 AM
EDIT - This Month we will be working together to create our own unique Rebel Troopers... hope to keep everyone who has participated in these still on board, and maybe nab a few newbies too!

ORIGINAL POST -

What had we decided on for this month?  We are finishing up Organic Separatist Troops, so hopefully we can get something figured out here by Wednesday.

Thoughts?  Remember these are usually for a broad range of characters, like Star Wars hotties, Bounty Hunters, Sith Lords, etc.

Mayne we could try Rebel Troopers?  Or off-screen Cantina aliens?

I spent a good chunk of time tonight doing a little sumpin' sumpin' for this month's... tomorrow night I'll try and post some pics.

Rebel Troopers sounds like a plan.

Cool - I guess Rebel Troopers it will be then for December.  That gives lots of freedom, they can be from ANH, ESB, ROTJ, or fan fiction.

Would the Troopers include pilots?

Sure, I don't see why not... actually what if we made this "Battlefront Rebel Troopers" - meaning that you could make any Rebel troops from the games?  Or make an EU version?

...what if we made this "Battlefront Rebel Troopers" - ... Or make an EU version?

You know, just to keep it *way* wide open, why not just call it Rebel Fighters... anyone who takes up arms for the rebellion. Sort of in the same vein as Organic Separatists in that you can really let your imagination run wild.

I think that's fine In Rem.  I just mentioned the "Battlefront" title because it's so popular and might spark more interest.

Thanks guys.  I see we got a front page mention, but the ad didn't make it.  Oh well, I had made that in hopes that main page lurkers would see it and it might make them curious .  But that's ok, any mention at all is more than most sites would do.

So any ideas on this as far as some EU troops are concerned?  I think I have a couple of decent ideas up my sleeve.  I think it might be cool to go the non-human route on at least some of these.

You know it would be nice to have a permanent place for the monthly customizing challenge to be stored at JD instead of in the forums like now. It would be ideal to have a link off the main page for this kind of stuff.

Just an idea.

Hmmm, now that's an idea. I may have to clean out some pegwarmers too.

This is a really good challenge because simple part swaps or really advanced entries will all work. Hopefully we get lot's of entries this month. :)

I had the link to this topic in my RS sig. It took Dustin a whole day to remove it for me along with a nice PM warning.

It seems like he actually failed to follow RebelScum's protocols. I'm pretty sure I remember reading something about a mod or admin having to ask you before removing the inappropriate materials from the signature themselves.

Hemble, I don't think any of those were made specifically for this challenge, so it's more or less just for reference on what we've made in the past, at least I think.

I plan on starting on two troops for this, and making them similar to each other but as all new designs.

You've got to teach me how to do that. :)

Step 1: Get Photoshop

Step 2: Practice, practice, practice. I certainly don't think I'm particularly talented, and the stuff I can do is the product of casual use for the better part of 7 years. :P

By "casual use" I mean just fiddling with it from time to time to make websites and fix bad pictures. :)

I can't wait to see more Rebels!

That Kel Dor is great, and really comes to life with your photoshop skills In Rem.  Simply amazing.  Looks very official.

I have very little photoshop skills either Jediknight.  Actually, I've never even used photoshop before.  I have a very cheesy program called Microsoft Picture It and also use Photoimpact some.

It doesn't get much simpler than this - just a simple parts swap, and the first time in months I didn't paint a custom.  This is my first entry for this month's challenge.  Kind of a mix between ANH and ROTJ Rebel Troops.

Rebel Officer

head - POTF2 Endor Trooper
torso - SAGA Captain Antilles
arms - SAGA Captiain Antilles
vest - POTF2 Han Solo
legs - SAGA Captain Antilles

Post by: Jeff on December 15, 2005, 08:04 PM
Well, since I know I'll be super-busy at the end of the month with Family stuff, I thought I'd just go ahead and post mine now...

First up, Hoth Rebel Officer:

(http://www.jedidefender.com/jsmentek/customs/tn_hothrebel.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/image.pl?http://www.jedidefender.com/jsmentek/customs/hothrebel.JPG)
clicky for a larger photo

PotF2 Deluxe Rebel Head + PotF2 Hoth Luke Body + Paint.  Simple, easy, effective.  Added a Maul binocular for AT-AT scouting.

Next up, Alien Hoth Rebel Commander:

(http://www.jedidefender.com/jsmentek/customs/tn_hothalien.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/image.pl?http://www.jedidefender.com/jsmentek/customs/hothalien.jpg)
clicky for a larger photo

Saga Rieekan Body + PotF2 Hoth Luke Head + Paint.  All those aliens have to be around someplace in the rebellion, so I whipped up this guy.  I kinda took an "Andorian" theme (cold planet alien) and figured they'd be perfect for Hoth troopers.

And third, Endor Rebel Commander:

(http://www.jedidefender.com/jsmentek/customs/tn_endormace.jpg) (http://www.jedidefender.com/image.pl?http://www.jedidefender.com/jsmentek/customs/endormace.JPG)
clicky for a larger photo

PotF2 Endor Rebel Body + Ep1 Preview Mace Head + Saga Endor Hat.  OK, I cheated on this one and didn't even add any paint yet, but I really like him the way he is.  Adds nicely to my Endor troopers and was super-easy to make.

So, there you go - proof that customizers of every level (and mine is obviously "low" level) are welcome in this challenge.  :P

I'll probably go back and add a bit more paint detail to them (improve rank badges, change the pockets on the alien from red to something else, etc).  I know I won't have time to get to it soon though, so I consider them "finished" for now... :)

Enjoy!

Post by: CHEWIE on December 15, 2005, 08:56 PM
Nice to see your additions to this, and another front page mention.  That blue guy kinda freaks me out though!

Hoth Rebel Officer - I see you got some good use out of that old Luke sculpt.  I always liked that head on the Deluxe Trooper, so good choice there.

Hoth Rebel Commander - Something about this guy seems kind of non-Star Wars-ish to me.  I understand the idea of an alien being there, it's just kind of a strange look to me.  I know the Chiss are blue skinned though.  I would think maybe if you are going for an alien, something non human might look really cool, like a Duros perhaps?  I don't know, just throwing that out there.

Endor Rebel Commander - Good use of the body on this, that's one that still looks cool I think even by today's standards, especially when you mix it in a diorama with different troops.  Maybe paint some sort of beard onto him, I seem to remember several of the Endor rebels having facial hair.

Good update Jeff!

Title: Re: Monthly Customizing Challenge - Month 8: Rebel Troopers
Post by: Jesse James on December 15, 2005, 11:50 PM
In Rem, that's sacrilege! :)  No seriously though I like the Plo Rebel guy...  I like that you mixed up the paint on the skin especially.  I do however think that changing up the costume a little would help it some is all...  Of course I collect XD so the Japanese uniform stands out to me, but I think like adding unique "pouches" would help, and also I'd have considered giving him new legs that have the "traditional" Star Wars leggings...  Like the Endor guys had.  Nein Numb comes with ones that I think would fit perfect.  You'd lose moveable feet but I think it'd be worth it for "variety".

CHEWIE, your rebel is very cool and adds diveristy to the ranks...  For my tastes though I'm more a "uniform" guy even for the Alliance, so I'm not sure I'd have deviated from their traditional costumes as seen in the movies unless he's part of a guerilla force, however htis is all just aesthetic differences in how we view the Alliance so that's neither here nor there even...  The parts look great together.  I'm wondering how the arms blend in with the torso though?  They look good to me but without hte jacket I'd think the jacketed arms would show a gap.  Cool that they don't seem to.

Jeff's stuff's sharp.  I see your point CHEWIE about there being something with the blue soldier's look that stands out in a way.  I don't know the Andorian species to comment...  Chiss have red eyes so it's not one of them but that'd have been cool actually if it had been.  The parts match up well though so that's cool by me, and for my tastes the paintjob's great it's really just the eyes that don't match.  I think solid black would look better even, just to spice it up, but yeah Chiss red would look cool too...  Again though I don't know what species the Andorians are to comment on that much Jeff.

I like the Hoth Commander too...  Simple means of diversifying forces isn't anything bad.  A field backpack would add something I think if he's out there in the trenches, but that's just a minor tweak by my eye...  Maybe the addition of a cloth piece stuck to the hat would be cool?  A scarf you could wrap around the mouth would look pretty neat I think Jeff.

And your Rebel Commando/Endor Trooper is a simple parts swap but a good one.  Short of changing the facial features some way there's not much you can do to change him up...  There's a LOT of detail on the costume that can use a GOOD paintjob.  For instance a round pouch hangs off his right hip that's not even painted, but looks great...  It has straps hanging off it too, looks neat.

For a suggestion to those of you making figs, I've found that a GREAT swap to do for Endor Troops is that the legs/lower torso of the POTF2 Commando fit the Saga Endor Commando's upper body perfectly.  You just cut a top piece off the POTF2 figure's lower torso, but the fit is great then.  It makes for a better "neutral" stance Saga figure.  Simple enough and with some repainting another good way to add diversity to your ranks again.  And it gets rid of those ugly action posed Saga figure's legs too.  :)

Well, here's my first ever entry in a Custom Challenge.

Upon Order 66, the 217th Legion decided Wes Ratel was too much of a danger to the Empire. So his own squad, waiting for the right time, attempted to eliminate him. Being a former Jedi, and Force-sensitve, Wes foresaw the attack and killed them all. Going into exile, and taking one of the 305th ARCs that he flew into Coruscant upon reassignment, he fled to distant planets just like the Jedis Obi-Wan and Yoda. He joined the Alliance once he was convinced they had forgotten about him. He was sent to Endor to help soften up the Imperial defenses before the main Rebel attack and was to support the local Ewok tribes in the wilderness. He and his squad, dressed in dark colors-just like his former sqaud-used guerilla tactics on the Empire. The body is a Power Team Elite body, repainted, softgoods suspenders and web belt, and backpack from Chris Locklear. Here are the pics:

Well, I hope you like him. LMK what you think, all comments are appreciated. Thanks for looking, and have a nice weekend.

-In-Rem, I really dig the Keldor soldier, especialy since he's green!

- CHEWIE, that is a very simple custom but it looks good. I think i may have to steal that idea if you don't mind.

Here are a few of my Rebels. Not all soldiers, but they lend thier skills to the Rebel's.

Those are a nice set of troops you got there, jedistyle. I like the Zabrak soldier the most.

Is it possible to extend the deadline of the challenge for a couple days after the end of the month? I plan on doing a Kel Dor and Nautolan (Kit Fisto's species, right?) Rebel soldiers, but I'm planning on getting started on them after Christmas.

Here's a couple more customs:
First up, we have Wes Ratel in some fatigues as a Yavin Guard. When Wes first enlisted in the Alliance, he was placed on the Rebel Base on Yavin 4 to guard the temple facility.

Second, here is Chris Locklear after he joined the Alliance and was, per request, assigned to Wes' squad. When his former RRT told him their plan to kill Wes on Order 66, he pretended to go along with it. He knew in his heart that he couldn't kill him. He was the only close to a friend, and they had many previous experiences with him on Kashyykk. He confided to Wes their plan and he concocted a counter-attack. He counted the number of squad members and one round in his rifle for each squad member for the attck, carefully inserting a blank round and remembering what round it was. When they attacked he made sure he shot them in the right order, and Locklear feigned being shot when the blank round was fired so the team wouldn't suspect anything.

Third, and last, is the final member in Wes' team on Endor. His name is Gutra Vanday, a former Neimoidian mercenary that had joined the Rebels after the Empire had foiled one of his smuggling operations. An excellent marksman, he carries a high-powered rifle. He is also the one who will carry the compact but effecient communications hardware that keeps in contact with the nearest Blockade Runner.

Great updates guys - I'll comment in more detail probably tomorrow or Friday.  I have to add at least 1-2 more guys for this and will hold off on the Rykrof series for it.  I like the idea of some off-screen characters a lot.

More and more Rebels!

First off we have Mace Fusca, a Rebel officer on Yavin. He chose a plain black jumpsuit instead of the main uniforms of the other officers because, well, because I think he looks like a badass. He also has a ripped, torn, and dirty trench coat that has seen him through many a hard fight.

And then we have Riekas Tiegad, another one of Wes' Yavin buddies. The torso is from a BBi fig and the legs are from a Clone Pilot. I'm not sure I like the boots though, I might switch them out with Pilot Obi legs.

Well, I hope you like them. LMK what you think, all comments are appreciated. Thanks for looking, and have a Happy Holiday.

This is a work in progress shot of my unnamed rebel. He isn't painted yet and I'll probably add a holster but this is the general idea. He will wear a rebel rank badge. I'm thinking a blue and white color scheme with some Chewie-like wash. His hair will be grey to mask the quigon look. Basically he is a mix of parts with no real reference.

It's a nice start on the figure.  He reminds me of Garm Bel Iblis. (perhaps it's the Qui-Gon head, it seems to be used a lot for him, but the uniform also seems to fit how I pictured him.)

And I'm new to posting on the boards, I've been lurking for a while.  I've just taken some photos of all my customs and hope to post some soon, including a few Rebel Troopers.

Welcome then! Be sure to intorduce yourself over in the newbie section as well. I look forward to chatting with you and seeing some of your work. :)

Whoo Hoo!  Updated galore!  Now we need to get rolling more on the Tonnika sisters!

Darth Claus - You are a customizing machine!  Like the new troops.  Always have a very military look to them.  Have you thought about some non-green colors?  Maybe make a squad in orange uniforms, or something out of the ordinary?  Just a thought.  I am ALWAYS impressed with your genius use of soft goods.

Phruby - Looks like a great start!  I'm sad to see you took apart your Carth custom from KOTOR, I guess you're planning on upgrading it?

bocrebjedi   - Welcome aboard!  I'm looking very forward to seeing you around here getting to discuss your customs.   :)

And give me a few minutes guys, and I'll have my main entry for this up.

Ok!  I got these done.  I was in a rush to get them finished tonight because of the Tonnika Sisters project, and the Rykfor Enloe series - so here we go:

Correlian Underground Resistance Rebel Troopers

Made from -

head - OTC Cloud Car Pilot
helmet - SAGA Captain Antilles
torso - SAGA Captain Typho
arms - SAGA Captain Typho
legs - SAGA Captain Typho

I made two of them - can't have just "one of an army builder."   ;)

Please share your thoughts on these guys. They look simple as can be, but painting them took over 4 hours.  I think I might need to add some tan paint to the inside of their helmets perhaps?

4 hours well spent I'd say. :) I think the brown/black/grey combo turned out great. That combo screams Rebel to me for some reason, I think it is because the Yavin techs have the brownish and they fleet troopers have the black vest and blueish/grey tunics. The Cloud Car pilot's head fits really well and looks good with the helmet.

Nirvana(Claus) all of your customs are looking great. Some of them doen't necassarily seem to be too SWish but they are all very well done. I think it is the BBi Bodies, they look a bit Earthy. Perhaps you could change the combat boots to something more SWish. The one with the Obi-Wan head looks great, I really like the use of the Ki-Adi body. Perhaps you could give the Niemodian a light drybrush so his color isn't flat?

Fritz I'm really like all these decomposing bodies you have been doing. That tattered pants are excellent. Did you dremmel them or were they already like that? While it looks great I'm not sure that it would ever get like that, I think the Rebels eem like the type that bury their dead or cremate them. I guess it is possible he got stuck behind enemy lines on another planet though, or even fell into a mass of Bushes on Endor somewhere and was never found. Perhaps you could dirty the helmet and vest up a bit? I think if he was out long enough to decomepose like that, he has to have gottne some mud and grime on there when it rains.

jedistyle, You've also got a great set of troopers there. I really like the hacker, You used a nice set of parts/colors to make him. He doesn't look like as much like a soldier with that yellow vest, so I could definitley see him in a hacker role.

Jeff your's look good too. I like the blue skin fella myself. I think that he may look better as a chiss , meaning that his eyes would look better if they were red. The other look good as well.

Man, we have got a lot of entries so far this month. And I hope we see even more. I am putting the finishing touches on one of mine, and I hope I can get another 1 or 2 done as well, but I gotta try and get my Tonnikas done too.

I was never really happy with Carth. I can do a much better job now. Maybe this guy will be Garm Bel Iblis. I don't have a reference shot of him though.

Chewie, thats a good use of the Typho body. I have a Padme pilot body that I use to make a female version of your Correlian Underground Resistance Rebel Trooper.

Thanks Phruby and Ryan.  For some reason the heads just weren't looking right to me, and I though the pants/sleeves needed to be repainted.  So I did some minor alterations, including painting the inside of the helmets.  Both are BBI heads.

Wow the new heads look great.

I should have mine finish by tomorrow night, if all goes well I should have 4 figures made. I've finished 2 already, and the other two just need some paint, but one will have a pretty complicated paint app., but I'm REALLY excited about it. I think/hope you guys will like it too. If it comes out like I'm picturing it should be pretty cool. The other 3 are rather ho-hum, and aren't much more than headswaps and simple repaints.

I'll be leaving to go out of town for a week (without internet access) on Weds, so I should have the image thread updated sometime at the end of next week. We have had a great month so far, I've really enjoyed all of them and the volume we have gotten is great. :)

Well I got 4 done for this month. A new record for me. :) I was hoping to get a fifth done but I ran out of time. I'm leaving to go out of town for a week tomorrow and probably won't have internet access, I'll update the image thread with everyone's entries when I get back. :)

And now for my entries. :)

First up: Niemoidian Rebel X-Wing Pilot, Devir Floto

He is just a simple headswap really with a repainted head and helmet.

And next I've got a yet un-named Sakian Rebel General:

Really easy 15 minute custom, I had an extra Djas head and hands that I'd been wanting to use for while, as well as a Madine body, so I just threw this together. He maintains full articulation, all of the customs this update do actually. :)

And next an un-named Endor Rebel Communications Officer:

A rather boring figure. I just cobbled himtogether quickly cause I couldn't find a real head, and wanted to get this stupid Obi-Wan head out of my fodder bin, so he became a comm officer.

And last but not least, and my personal favorite of the group a Rebel Sandtrooper:

He's got full articulation still, including the neck. The Bbi head I used had a short neckpeg and no neck whatsoever, so I stuck a soft plastic ring thing in the neck socket  to act as a neck, and drilled a hole through it, the head now fits snugly in there and still moves. The goggles are POTF2 Gardinian goggles dremmeled off and attached to the hat, with little bits of cardboard type stuff as the straps. The Holster is a leftover Djas Puhr holster cut, modified, and flipped. The strap there is sculpey. I added an extra canteen to his backpack so he can stay hydrated. He is supposed to be wearing a thermal bodygolve under the clothing, like Imperial Sandtroopers wear, hence the face mask. I gave him the goggles and the face mask to protect him during sandstorms. And attempeted to give him some SW style desert camoflague.

Well let me know what you guys think! :)

I like the Sakian Rebel General. Very nicely done head. Does that guy have pointy ears? It looks like it to me. It kind of looks like Mr. Spock.

Niemoidian Rebel X-Wing Pilot is an another good use for the peg warming frogs. You need to add some logos to that helmet. You might check out ErikStromtrooper.com for the logo sticker page. He has all the rebel and empire insigna.

I'm very impressed with the rebel sandtrooper. The bbi head gives him a kind of gi joe look. I like how much movement you put into him and the color scheme is top notch.

Post by: In Rem on December 28, 2005, 12:32 PM
Ryan,

All of your entries are *very* impressive. I'm most impressed, though, but that Rebel general. I know you say it was an easy custom, but it looks absolutely flawless, and nothing like D.P. (which is always a fear of mine when I do head swaps - that it will look like the same character in a different outfit)

The rebel sandtrooper is expertly painted. I love the camo pattern on the legs. How did you accomplish it? You need to get this guy posed in some sand in combat with a few Imperial Sandtroopers. And while the BBI head does look somewhat GI Joe without the helmet on, with the helmet he looks like he walked right off of Tatooine.

The Neimoidian pilot is very slick, but I would agree with M_P that at least one logo of some kind should be slapped on the helmet somewhere. It would just be the icing on the cake that made him pop.

The rebel comm officer looks a heck of a lot like Obi to me as opposed to just another disposable hero. Perhaps some paint to really change that haircolor? I do like the idea of using the head with the molded on headpiece for a radio man. It ties nicely with the backpack mod you did and the idea of these guys humping through a jungle somewhere.

Top notch work, man!

Here is my entry for this month's customizing challenge. He is a fan fic rebel named Captain Moroni. I don't have a background story for him yet except that he is considered a military genius. He is known for his ability to fortify rebel strongholds against even the heaviest Imperial attacks. He is very inventive in developing new technologies to aid in defending his bases and attacking the Empire. He is also very strong in the Force.

He is done with old school episode I parts. He is made from a quigon head, Ki-adi-mundi arms and naboo royal security body and legs.

Ryan!  You have a fantastic update this month - Damn!

Niemoidian Rebel X-Wing Pilot, Devir Floto - First of all, great name.  I him a lot.  I'd go for a Dutch Vander body if you have one, but if not this still works.  Love seeing Nemoidians in other walks of life.

Sakian Rebel General - Good paint and the head looks good.  Like seeing these alien rebels.

Endor Rebel Communications Officer - Damn that Obi Wan head!  But you seem to have found a good use for it... are you considering a helmet at all?

Rebel Sandtrooper - An ingenious idea!  Well selected parts, painting, etc.  I love this figure, it's one of your best I think.  You have inspired me on this.  Excellent figure.

And Phruby, I like your figure too!

Captain Moroni. - Very believable use of parts, and great use of the old EPI parts.  Excellent painting too.  He looks like a wise old captain.  Did you do some sculpting on his torso?

I haven't done a monthly challenge in a while, so I might as well add these guys:

Leyatt Defense Force Guardsmen
Leyatt, a planet that openly supported the "Petition of 2000" before the emergence of the Empire, was regarded as one of the more "civilized" of the mid-rim planets.  As peaceful as the Alderaanians but as crafty as the Corellians, the Leyatt have a powerful modern army which they only use for defense.  Since the expert Leyatt soldiers and pilots refused to join the Empire's recruiting academies, Leyatt was blacklisted and eventually invaded.  The Leyatt people were scattered throughout the galaxy and were a main source of soldiers and pilots for the Rebellion.  After the New Republic was established, many of the surviving Leyatt moved back to their abandoned home planet to rebuildit.

As I said over at the Jawa, these are great figures. I like the red strips on the uniforms. I think the pit helmets are too ww2-ish. I think a Cobra Crimson Shadow Guard helmet would be a great touch for these.  But I know your going for the warhammer look in that case these are perfect.

Greg, pardon my French, but you kick ass.  Everyone has had some superb entries this month, but these are so unique and cool.  Very well done.  The body doesn't even look like an existing figure with the paint scheme on any of them.

How did you make the shoulder pads/chest plate?  I think on the chest plate it needs just a bit more texture as it almost looks photoshopped on.  Is it styrene?

Really awesome update and very inspiring.  They kind of have a German feel to them that makes me feel like they are a pretty tough bunch.  I am really impressed with the blood stripes on their uniforms.  Are you concerned at all about paint chipping on all the joints?

Some of your best work yet!

Thanks for the feedback guys!  ;D

CHEWIE - thanks for the compliments!  In response to your question, the shoulder pads and chest armor are made from cut-up fake credit cards.  I really need to get some styrene but I've accumulated a stack of fake credit cards about 2 inchs high so I like using them (free=good)  ;)
The paint has chipped a bit more than I had anticipated at the joints and on their hands, but it's not really that noticeable yet.  I sprayed them dull-cote so the paint is holding up pretty well overall, and the chipped parts are hard to see so far.
What do you recommend I do to the chest-plate on the Comm. Officer?  I think it looks more "realistic" in person, but I know what you mean about how it looks photoshopped on.  Any suggestions?

Phruby - I'm glad you like the mechanical hand, I did it right before I primed the figure  :)

Hmmm... maybe you could scratch it up some?  With an exacto knife a bit, and add in a small dent or two?  Still looks good how you have it, and very innovative.  And I admire you for your work on the painting on the joints of all those Dookus - I probably would have not painted them so much because I know I'd get frustrtated with potential chipping problems.  But you seem to be much better at that than I am!  I just saw the metal hand too - awesome touch!

I made a bet with a friend of mine who has made an X-Wing Pilot costume that she wouldn't make this one.  Of course, she took me up on it, so I made her this custom.  The fish-net stockings were a pain to do, and I wish they turned out a little better.  It was a fun custom.

Very innovative and well done.  I never would have dreamed up something like this.  It's cool and you used a great mix of parts to create her, and excellent painting too.

Heres my submission Chewie. Better late than never right. :-[ ;D
Hes  an Ithorian Cheif medical officer. Hes an Ithorian head and limbs on an Ackbar body and heavily sculpied. He was mostly an experiment and I'm not entirely pleased with the way he turned out but here it is. ;D

It looks really cool Ennis, I think I might borrow this design; great sculpting on the legs!  The Ackbar body is a good match for an Ithorian too I think.  The only thing I might suggest is a bit of a touch up on the paint in a few areas, but other than that, it's awesome.  I would definitely buy this from Hasbro if they made it.

I love it!  It is a very cool and original concept.  The sculpting turned out perfectly and it definitely looks "factory," nice work!
As CHEWIE mentioned, the only thing that you might want to do to this figure would be to touch up the paint in a few areas, but other than that, excellent job!
