Title: (Not a) New $50 Multi-Pack at Wal-Mart
Post by: ruiner on November 28, 2005, 10:21 AM
According to "inside" sources  :P, there's something waiting for us in the Wal-Mart stock rooms across the country.

Sounds like a 12 pack of figures slated to retail at $50.

Any guesses on what this might be?  Repacks similar to the TRU mega buys?  I'm hoping for an exclusive 12 pack of newly colored clones.   :-*

This sound good. My only hopes are that this pack don't look like the KB pack. :P

If it's the early Collection 1 figures I'd actually buy it just because I waited on most of them.  Not like htey're "rare" or anything, so buying in one fell swoop would be alright.

Still, not the best little item, especially for such a high pricetag, but what do I know.

Walmart with Star Wars figures!? Sorry, the Wally's here have been dry for over a month now. I passed on looking in two Walmarts today for the twins because like, why would I do that?
I don't think a $50 multi-pack will bring me in either. Shame really. If you think about Walmart's strategy, to get people in and have them buy additional items they are losing that with me.  I will probably hunt at Wally's for the twins but that is all. After that I won't go out of my way to hunt at Walmart unless the new Saga hit there first.

Its going to have those hard to find figures such as Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Mas Amedda and the holy grail the Nemodian Warrior.  ;D

You are all wrong.  There will be one new figure in there and it will be Commander Cody.  This will be the only way to get him EVER.  LOL!

Oh that's what the set is guys, you guessed it!

However it's limited in production to only 10.  10 whole sets, that's it, and they're only going to be given to Wal-Mart managers with a note saying "Sell them on Ebay!".

It looks like a reader has reported to RS that the "12 pack" is actually just a case/box with 3 of the Twins sets, and an assortment of 6 other ROTS figures, possibly in a stand up retail display box.  So it doesn't sound like it actually is a "multi pack" as was earlier suggested/reported.

This would make the most sense. I find it very hard to believe that anyone can get a product on the shelves before we found out about it.

That would explain why all those figs were there along side the twins when I found them.  R4, though.  You'd think in a case like that they'd throw a 501st in or something.

Bastards.

Oh well... it's not like I even like the 501st clone anyway.  Most customizers do a much better job with the #41 clone.

I just may make a custom myself, the way things are going.  I'm as likely to find a 501st as I am to win the lottery.  Plus, I haven't made a custom in  a while.

You/I...  People with common sense in general, but this is Hasbro so they're gonna push Ki-Adi Mundi out there! :)  Not that he's a bad figure but I saw a number of him at TRU just the other day...  KM had a couple too.

Shocktroopers and 501st Clones just didn't seem like a logical move I guess...  to Hasbro anyway.
