Title: Phalanxx's Customs - Updated 10/31 (Halloween Customs SW Style)
Post by: Phalanxx on December 9, 2005, 12:20 AM
After seeing Chewie's and other customizer's version of Obi-wan in Clone Armor, I got motivated and decided to my versions of the Jedi Generals and Commanders as they fought in the Clone Wars.  They were all basicly just part swaps, but I like how they turned out.  Thanks for looking.

General Obi-wan Kenobi

General Saesee Tiin - Flight Armor

 :o :o :o

I am loving this Saesee Tinn! The color is great (and looks like space armor ala the toon). The inclusion of a cape and kama just puts him over the top. He really looks like a leader and warrior here.

I also like the touches you've added to the remaining Jedi. Your Gen. Kenobi is great (... I really need to make one of these!)

Ki with the AT-RT driver arms and legs looks very convincing and ready for combat (is that a straight pop-and-swap? It looks dead-on perfect.)

The bronze boots and gauntlets on Plo, though, might be my favorite addition. They just go so well with Koon's darker look.

The only one I'm not really buying into is Secura. The parts used make her look very bulky. Your construction techniques and paint look good, so it's nothing technical. The parts just make her look a little big.

Super update. I look forward to more of your submissions, Phalanxx!

That Tiin is awesome!  Well-done on his helmet.  I haven't sculpted his mask because I lack the talent, but now I may just try a CW Tiin using (stealing?) your idea.  :D

Aayla looks good from the torso up, except her arms and legs look a tad buff, but as Rem said, it's not a technical issue but more aesthetical.  Keep that booty on her, though, it makes her look like she could be "...one of those rap guys' girlfriends," and that's a good thing.

The addition of clone legs/calves on the Jedi looks good, and the paint application makes them look like they belong there.  It does away with the stick-legged look that the stock Jedi have.

Only other suggestion I have is to weather them all a bit.  Not "I've just been pooped out of a Rancor" weathering like I've been guilty of, but more akin to that of DD's, Chewie's, Rem's, Ripley's, and Hemble's techniques.

I commented about Aayla Secura and Saesee Tiin over at CC. That is a very cool simple design for obiwan. The cape makes him very dynamic looking. Like the colors you chose for Ki Adi Mundi. The ATRT pieces really go well with the rest of the figure.

wow looking good.  i almost missed the plo though i coundn't see what you'd done.  my screens' a little dark, but after i changed that it looks awesome.  tiin is really great i love the addition of the cape and kama, bacarra's?

Thanks for the comments guys.  I'm glad you like them.  I can't take credit for the obi recipe, I borrowed (stole  :)) the idea from Chewie. Thanks Chewie!!

In Rem - Ki-Adi wasn't a straight parts swap.  Just a few minor mods. One of the arms had a peg on it and I had to cut it off and drill a new hole.  I also had to drill the hole on the other arm deeper to accept the peg from the clone trooper.  I also painted the upper legs to closer match the AT-RT's legs.

bjardkerr - Thanks for the comments. As for the weathering, I usually prefer "clean versions" of my customs, but I have recently started weathering some of my figures, but I haven't perfected my weathering look.  So I didn't want to mess up and ruin these customs.  But once I get my weathering down I will probably go back and add some to these figures.

jedipurge - Thanks.  The cape is from Count Dooku (ROTS) and the kama is from Clone Commander (ROTS)

As for Aayla, I wanted to retain the clone trooper look for the most part with this figure.  But I agree that the arms look big.  To me, they make her look monkey-ish.  I might try using Aayla's original arms and adding obi-wan's clone armor from the Jedi vs Sith pack.

Thanks again for all the comments.

The Plo Koon got me. I didnt think there was any difference to him. Very subtle clone armor which looks great. I really like the Ki Adi and the Obi Wan as well.

Wow, very nice!  I wanted to comment on these at work today, but was so darn busy.  I'm very glad to see you here, and your work is very, very good!

Obi Wan - That is very well done.  I think the recipe for this is cool, and you executed it very well.  I'm already seeing some of your other customs that I think I want to copy off of you too.

SaeSee Tiin - That's just awesome.  Very well executed, and I like how the helmet is used and cut to fit him right, he looks so much more tough with it on. And even without it it looks fantastic.  What kind of paint did you use?  The armor looks great.

Ki Adi & Plo Koon - The parts swaps are very well done, and really are a good fit for these guys.  Again, great work.

Aayla - Interesting concept here.  I think this is one I'd be afraid of trying, just because it's so hard to get the manly armor to look feminine.  But you made a good effort at it and it looks nice.  It might be possible to use VOTC Stormtrooper parts to make her look a little less bulky, but even as it is, it's still very cool.

Good painting and parts using all around.  I would suggest maybe a small amount of weathering, but that's entirely up to you.  Great update!

 :P
Title: Re: Phalanxx's Customs - Clone War Jedi
Post by: Phalanxx on December 12, 2005, 08:22 AM
Thanks Chewie!  I hadn't thought of using the VOTC stormtrooper.  I originally had tried the Comm-tech Stormtrooper, but his arms were even longer that the clone troopers.  Now I just need to see if I can find a VOTC cheap.

As for the paints, I have recently started using Cithadel acrylic paints on my SW customs.  They seem to be a little bit thinner than the other acrylic paints (Delta, Folkart, Applebarrel, etc..) that I use to use so that helps with the rubbing and chipping of the paints.  And they also seem to go on smoother.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Wow. These Christmas customs are really great! Good idea to put Han and Leia together, although seeing Leia as an old woman is crushing my boyhood infatuation with her :p. Very clean paint jobs and very seasonal use of color. You've done a fine job with parts selection and modification as well.

And Merry Christmas to you, Phalanxx.

Now those are damn cool.  I really think those are cool an unique; never seen Leia portrayed like that.  I think they deserve a front page mention as a "Merry Christmas" from the customizers at JD.   ;)

These are the ones that won over at the commando customs christmas contest. These are some of your best work Phalanxx! I love the glasses you gave Leia Claus. I can see Solo Claus not wanting to wear a hat that would mess up his hair. You even have a little pouch on his belt. The green gloves and boots on Leia give her a nice festive look that is different form Solo. Beautiful work!

Thanks for the comments guys.

InRem - sorry about ruining your childhood infatuation with her.  I will make it up to ya and make another custom of her to correct that for you.   :)

Glassman - Thanks for the suggestion, I am working on a bag for Han, but i didn't know what to fill it with.  I think blasters are a great idea.

Chewie -  I would be greatly honored if JD did that.  JD, feel free to use my pics if ya want to.

And I have to correct Phruby, I took second in the contest over at CC. He was the one who actually won the contest with his great christmas yoda.

Continuing on with my Clone Wars series, here is Anakin Skywalker as he might have appeared in the Clone Wars.  I went with a black metallic color for the armor to show his slow decent towards the darkside and to tie together his transformation into Darth Vader.

Hmm. Cool idea. I like the silver forearms. Although I'm not too sure I like the Ep2 body on the Ani. I know that you nned to use that one because of the swivel elbows, but is it possible to boil-pop the full arms on the fig?

I actually like that body for it.  I know some people seem to not like the Evolutions EP2 Anakin, but I'm one of the ones that does like it.  The use of darker armor for him does make sense.  Good idea and the Vader robe is a great touch.

nice job, i like the silver armor as well, especially since it looks like a darker silver, and as CHEWIE said the vader cloak was a great choice!

just a suggestion, mabey using the clone hand on his right arm as well. i think it would look more balanced and bieng gloves and armor, you'd think he'd where them on both hands, just a suggestion. it still looks awsome!

I'm not saying it's a bad body. It's just that I think that the Ep3 head looks a little out of place. The skin color is slightly different. I think it's a great custom, and I like the Vader robe.

I love the Dark Armor.

Great Job, I might have to copy this idea for myself, only without the soft goods. I've always liked the look of sculpted Cloaks and Capes over the Cloth ones. Thats no Gripe about your choice though, It's just my personal Preference.

Keep up the Great Work.

I like the use of the two different body pieces. It makes for deluxe looking anakin. You just need to paint the chest area to match the head. Maybe you can give him a blue undershirt so you won't have to match skin color.
Title: Re: Phalanxx's Customs - Updated 12/16 (Cmdr Skywalker)
Post by: Phalanxx on December 17, 2005, 09:26 PM
Darth Nirvana - Thanks for the comments.  I went with the AOTC torso, because to me, the ROTS torso looked too blocky and square.  The AOTC torso had more of a torso shape to me.  Also I wanted to give him some height compared to Obi, and the AOTC upper legs seem to be  a little longer than the ROTS legs.

jedistyle - The robotic hand was a toss up for me.  I like the idea of him showing the hand, but it does seem kinda out of place with the armor.  I might try to drybrush the hand with silver to give it a better flow.

Fritzkrieg - I prefer sculpted plastic capes as well (as on the Obi figure), but none of the plastic vader capes that I had fit well with the figure.

Master_Phruby - Thanks, the undershirt is a great idea. What shade of blue were you thinking about? In normal light (no camera flash) the skin tones look pretty close.  I think the main reason they look different under a flash is that the head is fleshtone plastic and the neck is painted so they take to the flash differently.

That first one looks like a killer version of Snake Eyes to me!  I know he's supposed to be a Star Wars figure, so he fits the role for either the Joes or SW I think.  I wonder why they never made GI Joes in more of the Star Wars style?  It would convince me to collect quite a few of them.

The second figure is cool, but I just will always see that head as Rykrof Enloe now.  He's got a feminine ponytail!  Oh no!  It does look very good though, I can't believe how well it blends in with the hairline.  Did you sculpt it into the head?

Thanks guys.  The figures are of SEV54 and IGC from CC.

I knew the IGC figure would remind everyone of Rykrof, but it was the head that resembled him the best.

Chewie, maybe Rykrof had the ponytail when he went through his hippy stage  ;D.  The ponytail is from Scarlett from G.I. Joe (JvC).  I just tapered the end of match up with the hair on the back of his head.

Here are a couple of customs that I just finished. First off is an Female Alien Jedi based on the same species as Jabba's Palace Dancer Rystall.  According SW.com her species is still unkown.

Next is a simple custom that I did based off of the scene in EpIII where Yoda and Obi-wan returned to the Jedi Temple.

I was never happy with any of the Obi-Wan Kenobi figures that were released with the AOTC.  So once I saw the Obi's from ROTS and the Jedi vs Sith battle pack, I new a simple repaint and a head swap would give me what I wanted.

That's a really well done armored jedi Phalanxx  ;D
I love the blue color scheme - very unique and it doesn't look out of place.  Nice choice of colors.

The only thing that I would change is the head - it looks a bit too POTJ/POTF2-ish to me.  I think a more detailed BBi/Ultimate Soldier head would make this guy look a lot better.  That being said, I guess the less detailed Godzilla head would not really stand out so much when put next to other SW figs.
Either way, it looks great!

Yet another of my Jedi Generals of the Clone Wars.  Here is Kit Fisto in Clone Wars Armor.  Hasbro released a version of Kit based on his underwater cartoon appearance, so I thought I would do a land battle version of him.  I changed his colors up alittle bit to give a little variety into the jedi tunics.

I can't believe I missed this Jedi... wow, where have I been.   ???  It's one of the cleanest looking Jedi customs I've seen, I love it.  Wonderful paint scheme and color choice.

I think that Kit Fisto looks great.  I like his dark green robes, very suiting for his character.  I kind of agree on the head... I wouldn't necessarily switch it out, I'd maybe repaint it though.

Good work here!

Thanks for the comments guys.  I liked the way Kit turned out.  I think the green jedi tunic fits the character better.  I also agree that the AOTC kit head is more detailed than the ROTS one, but I decided to go with the ROTS head since the tentacles were more relaxed and draped over the shoulders.  The AOTC head seems to be more in an  action pose.

I really like this "armored" Kit Fisto.  The color scheme on the robes looks awesome, although I think the white armor looks a little off.  I think maybe painting it grey (like Saesee Tinn's Animated Clone Wars armor) would be more fitting with the green robes.

wow, I have to say that I like every one of your customs. I have to ask, do the #41 lower legs and elbows come out easily using boil and pop? I am picturing a plastic pin that can be easily removed when the figure has been boiled?? Am I right.

Thanks again for all the comments guys.  I actually thought about painting the armor grey but I wasn't sure how it would look with the kacky pants so I decided to play it safe and keep them white.

wow, I have to say that I like every one of your customs. I have to ask, do the #41 lower legs and elbows come out easily using boil and pop? I am picturing a plastic pin that can be easily removed when the figure has been boiled?? Am I right.

I actually don't boil and pop the newer SW figures anymore.  With the softer plastic that Hasbro is using, I was damaging some of the pegs when they became too soft in the hot water.  But you are right, the clone (as well as some of jedi) arms and legs are plug like pins that can be easily removed.  I now use a hairdryer to soften the plastic to remove the arms and legs.

The clone arm and legs plugs are a little bit longer and wider than the jedi, so they sometimes need to be trimmed down a bit to fit into the jedi arm and leg sockets. But other then that, they are a pretty easy part swaps.

do the clone legs and arms come out of their new jedi sockets to easily or are they sturdy.

The clone arms and legs are pretty sturdy in the jedi sockets since they are little bit larger than the original pegs on the jedi arms and legs.

Not a SW custom, but he is in scale with the SW figures.

Bio:
John- 117 (or more often referred to as Master Chief) was the sole Spartan to leave the Reach system aboard the Pillar of Autumn (with the exception of Linda-058 in cryo). For all he knew, he was the last Spartan alive. All of humanity depended on him, for even after their defeat at Halo the Covenant were still strong, and there were new enemies and variables to contend with that Earth knew nothing about: the Flood, the Forerunner, and their creations, such as 343 Guilty Spark.

This figure was completely casted by Master_Gunzz and then painted by myselft.  I also decided to card this figure and made my own custom cardback for it.

Let me know what you guys think.

Amazing. What kind of articulation is on the fig? Gunzz casted it perfectly and you did a great job painting it up. What gun is that? Is that a sratch-built or a cast of something?

Looks good.  I've only played Halo briefly at my Brother's house so I can't critique the authenticity of the figure.  But as a custom it looks extremely well made.

Thanks for the comments guys.  Master_Gunzz did do a great job on casting this figure.  He was actually able to cast and enlarged the 2inch figure to make it in scale with SW and GI.Joe figures.

The figure maintained all of the articulation from the 2inch figure.  Ball-jointed neck, swivel/ball joint shoulders, swivel waist, wrist, elbow and knees.

I'm working on some fanfic battle droids and I can't decide which part combination I like better and need some help.  The basic idea for these figures is that the Seperatist Army created these Droid Commando's to better deal with the Clone Commando's and the Jedi.  The have better armor and self contained processors.  So far  I have decided to use the B.A.T. v5 lower torso and Overkill's arms.  But I can't decide on which upper torso to use.  Let me know what body configuration you guys like better.

I like the MK2 also.  I think the long straight edge at the top of the torso of the MK1 is too much of a contrast for the battle droid's smallish head.

I always like the idea of the Blackhole (shadow) troopers when they appeared in the Marvel Comics and then in Dark Horse's Crimson Empire.  And when Hasbro released photos of  the upcoming shadow stormtrooper figure, I just I couldn't wait and had to make my own version of it.  This custom was done using one of the Evo Sandtroopers. I also included a pic of the figure from hasbro's card art.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks!

Excellent paint job there Phalanxx. I love your version of this guy. I can see no reason to buy this one from shopstarwars since you made a far superior version for a fraction of the cost. Are you going to card him like the exclusive version? The only thing I would suggest is adding the silver to the helmet nozzels.

Very nice, I love the way the blue sets off the black. It makes the armor stand out a lot better. I see a lot of customs like this ( some of my own included :-[) that are just solid black. The blue breaks that up and makes it look a hell of a lot cooler. I think I need to make a few improvements on mine now. ;D Excellent job.

After seeing everyone's great Mandalorian customs, I decided it was my turn to make one.   I originally wanted to use a VOTC fett figure, but I decided to first try out some of my color and part choice ideas  on a Saga Fett before customizing the more expensive VOTC figure.  So lets just call this figure my Mandalorian test run.  The helmet to me is a little small and is just the Saga figure's head hollowed out. The figure does have some battle damage/weathering on the armor, but it can't really be seen due to the camera flash.  Let me know what you guys think.  Thanks!

Parts list:
Head: Gung-Ho (G.I.Joe VvV)
Torso/Upper Arms/Legs: Saga Boba Fett
Lower Arms: Major Barrage (G.I.Joe DTC)
Helmet: Hollowed out Saga Boba Fett Head

Thanks for the comments Kit.  Yeah the camera flash did drown out some of the weathering and brighten up the paint color.  As for the helmet, I do have some of Glassman's awesome Mando helmets, but i'm saving those for when i start customize the VOTC fett figures that I have.   :)

Ya know that looks exactly like this guy that works down the hall from me. I'll have to send him the picture. I like the mix of the joe parts. Its gives him a nice neutral pose. You need to add the range finder to the helmet. I wonder if there is an easy way to shave off the wookiee brades and not damage the armor?

Hey, I really dig this Mandolorian custom!  Great use of parts and nice painting.

My only suggestion would be a little bit of weathering.  Sometimes people get carried away with weathering, but I think it would help this guy.  Nothing too drastic, but he does look a little clean.

Still, really cool figure.  Nice job!!

Phalanxx,

I love the Mandalorian, that's pretty nice splicing of Joe parts.  That's not a technique I'm usually fond of (GI Joe parts just never look like they fit right to me), but those for some reason meshed int here really well...  The figure seems clean for a warrior but if you're not wanting a grimey grunt then that's cool too.

If I had a suggestion, it'd be to change up the missle on the backpack maybe so it's not so close to Boba's...  It's like they all shop at the same missle store.  :)  Maybe it's the galactic Wal-Mart, I dunno.  If you spliced in a different missle there from some random fodder I think that could look pretty cool and change it up a bit some.

Nice work man, and it makes me look differently at the Fetts on the pegs now.

As some of you know, in addition to posting my customs here, I also post at CommandoCustoms.com (http://www.commandocustoms.com/board/index.php).  Well CC was recently interviewed by DeathStarDroid over at DeathStarPlans2.com (http://www.Deathstarplans2.com).  The interview is basically in the form of a photo-novel and we were able to submit our self customs to DSD and they would be included in the interview.

Here is the custom that I submitted.  The design of the custom is basically the same as my previous version of my self custom (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=10386.msg196767#msg196767)  but I used a ROTS Kit Fisto base instead of  the ROTS Obi-Wan base.

Let me know what you think.  You can check out rest of the interview here (http://www.deathstarplans2.com/DSP2talkshows/DSPtalkshow013_001.shtml)

I've been on a Mandalorian kick lately after reading the recent Republic Commando book and  the recent Mandalorian article in the Star Wars Insider.  I really liked the idea of them being culture based species instead of a species based culture (if that makes any sense) and that any species could technically become a Mandalorian if they adopted that way of life and their culture.  So that got me thinking of what all species could fit in with that way of life, and I decide to make a Rodian Mandalorian. I'm still undecided if I want to mod a helmet for him.  I'm also trying to find a good non-fett looking backpack for him so any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks for looking!

Bio/Background:
Young FLeedo was found next to his dead mercenary father on a war torn planet on the Outer Rim.  Taken in by the Mandalorians, Leedo was taught and the Mandalorian ways and soon recieved the name Ceryc Sushir (which roughly translates to "Pointed Listener").  Although the majority of his Mando Clan are of the human species, they do not look upon him as a rodian and he is truely accepted as their Vod ("brother").

Parts List:
Head, Hands, & Boots: VSC Greedo
Torso: VOTC Boba Fett

Great custom! Very different from what we're accustomed to seeing, which is human heads under the helmets. What bugs me about having some species being adopted into mandalorian culture is just that, though, how do their heads fit into that iconic helmet? Then again, it WOULD be true what they say: It's not the suit that makes the mando, it's the mando that makes the mando. Honestly I think it looks great on its own. Maybe paint his hands over to make it looks as if he's wearing gloves, but I don't see a need for any headgear.

Thanks for the comments guys.

ThePerennial - Glad you like him.  The helmet was one of the big quesiton marks I had on this custom.   I first thought I would be able to use one of Glassman's great expanded helmets, but Greedo's melon was even too big for that.  I might go back and make a sort of faceplate for him kinda like I did for my clone wars Saesen Tiin.  His hands are actually painted a light gray color to look like gloves.  Thanks again.

Quazar - Thanks man.  I'm glad you liked the backstory!

CHEWIE - I agree.  We need more tough Rodians and other tough alien species.  It seems for the most part, alot of the aliens out there are wimpy.

Smartypants1635 - Thanks SP.  The VOTC boba are quite hard to find.  Luckily I was able to find a batch of them on Ebay going for cheap.

master brisk arpor - I appreciate the kind words.  This figure kinda came about by accident, but once I saw that the Greedo head fit the VOTC fett.  I just knew I had to make it because the possibility of differnt types of mando's is basically endless.

Darth Nirvana - Thanks D_N!  Glad you like him.  The hands are actually painted a light gray to simulate that he is wearing gloves.  The figure does have a light wash to it but the camera flash drowned most of it out.

Over at Commando Customs, we had a Group Project entitled "The Future is Now" where we were to take characters from any story line and create customs of the people who have stepped up and taken over the mantle of the original characters after their passing.

I chose to do the decendants of Han Solo and Boba Fett.  Let me know what you think.

Arden Fett:
Found on a war torn world towards the end of the galactic war with Yuuzhan Vong, young Arden was found and adopted by Boba Fett and taught the ways of the Mandalorian.  Arden was inmersed into the Mandalorian life and took his teachings to heart.  Over the years, Arden proved himself with his actions that he was the living embodiment of the Mandalorian way.  When Boba Fett finally passed away, the mantle of leadership was passed on to Arden and he became the new Mandalor.

Parts List:
Head - BBI Paratrooper
Figure - VOTC Boba Fett
Helmet - Cast of Glassman's Expanded Fett Helmet
Kama - Cloth (Hand Made)

Hayden Solo:
A direct decendant of Han Solo & Leia Organa-Solo, Hayden Solo grew up at the Jedi Academy at Ossus learning the ways of the Force.  Like his family before him, Hayden was gifted and had a strong connection to the Force.  Many at the Academy, believed once he reached the rank of Jedi Master, the Academy would be his to oversee as headmaster. But like other Solo's before him, his ambitious and adventurous side got the best of him and shortly after passing the Jedi Trials and becoming a Jedi Knight, Hayden left the Jedi Order to seek out his own path in life.  Already a skilled pilot, Hayden bought himself an old transport ship and began travelling the galaxy.  Although no longer offically a part of the Jedi Order, Hayden remains guided by the Force and finds himself helping those less fortunite throughout the galaxy.

Parts List:
Head & Body - Cale from Titan AE (2 Different Cale Figures)
Vest - Covergirl (G.I. Joe DD Comic 3 Pack)
Gunbelt - Greedo

The Arnen Fett is one of the best Mandalorian's I've seen, I love the crisp paint on him, and the kama is perfect.  This is an A+ custom.

I may or may not have told you this, but this has always been my favorite custom of yours. I don't know what it is about this figure. The color scheme parts mix or what, but it has always stood out to me. The cloak is a perfect match, and makes the figure all that much nicer. Great job.

I havent been on the GTG site recently do they have other colors for those cloaks? There were none last time I was on.

Thanks for the comments guys. This is one of my personal favorite customs as well.

D_E, at the time I got the dark blue cloak, they had 4 different colors.  Dark Blue, Black, Brown, and Purple.  I know that Jfak is working on a few others including a tan cloak.

Great work!  I especially like the Rodian rifle.  Thats one unique looking weapon.  Its exotic-even in the SW universe.  Great weapon

The soft kama on yur Mandolorian is very well executed.  Clean lines and the color really enriches the look of this figure.

Hayden Solo is also well done.  The addition of the Solo belt and holster turns that Titan A.E. figure into almost an animated SW character.

great stuff!

After seeing the Foul Moudama figure in the stores and being inspired by similar customs I just had to make a Sith using Foul's larger frame. The whiphid arms and head are a little small but I think they work well with Foul's torso. I know it's not 100% accurate with having 3 claws on his feet, but I think it still works.   :P

Bio:
Nearly 1,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, lived a creature of extreme hate.  That creature was Darth Feral.  Darth Feral cared little for happens in and to the galaxy.  His only thoughts were about battle and the pain he could afflict on his opponent.  Recuirted into the Brotherhood of Darkness by Darth Kaan purely as a weapon that could be used to help destory the Jedi.  Darth Feral died with the rest of the brotherhood at the Battle of Ruusan.

I love the Whipid Sith Lord.  I've seen several other Foul/Whiphid customs and it really is a great body.  One minor suggestion would be to trim away the middle "toenail" from the Muftak to make it match the Whiphid.   I've seen several other people do that an it really looks great.

Let me know what you think.

Ya know, I always thought I'd hate seeing color on a stormie - and I often do - but this one actually makes me wish there were more....

Good use of the kama, great work with the paint, not sure how I feel about the legs, but over all, nice work!

Thanks for the comments guys.  I'm really happy with how he turned out.  At first I didn't know how I felt with a stormtrooper with color on him.  But I'm happy with the results.

A few fellow customizers suggested adding a pauldron to him so I went with the all black one from the new sandtrooper. Let me know what you think.

hmmmm, first impression? too much all-black in one area.

i'm fairly sure that i liked it better w/out the pauldron - but maybe a grey one (to match the kama) would look good?

also, i forgot to mention that really dig the range finder!

I really like this looks great. Have you considered maybe adding a very small bit of red to the helmet? perhaps paint the black line above the eyes red? Or just add a couple of little lines across the cheeks or head? I think that would really bring it together.

Zaine Tarrak was one of the few Jedi to survive the Emperor's order to destory the Jedi Knights.  Stationed out in the Outer Rims with a small contengient of clone troopers who tasked with shutting down a Seperatist droid factory.  When the order came in, the trooper were engaged in a heated battle with battle droids and could not comply with the order.  At the end of the battle, only Zaine and one badly injured clone trooper remained.  When the trooper attacked, Zaine was easily able to defend himself against the trooper.  After recieving the modified message from Obi-wan and Yoda, Zaine disappeared into the Outer Rim.

Vampyric Ewok
On the forested moon of Endor, a small but deadly creature haunts the nights of the moon's inhabitants. Once a cute and cuddly ewok, this creature now hunts the ones he once knew. Known to the ewoks as the "Nak'tula," or winged demon, this creature is rarely ever seen and when it is, it’s only seen at night. Most often the only evidence that the creature has been around is the lifeless corpses that have been drained of all their blood.
