Maybe this is old news to many (it's from SDCC), but I happened to stumble across this tonight looking at the GG Harry Potter busts. I am absolutely stoked about these, probably more than any "made for collectors" item that has ever been released except maybe the first Palisades Alien bust. These things look incredible! Calibos, Medusa, the Kraken...what else would a COTT fan ask for? Anyone else going to pick these up? Any idea what the price point is supposed to be?

I've seen picutres of these somewhere before. Might have been in one of the magazines like ToyFare or Tomart's maybe.
They do look really good. I have a couple of complaints about GG but none of them relate to the quality of their product.
Looking at those pictures, though, gives me the sudden urge to go buy CotT and watch it. I haven't seen that film in a few years.

Once I went to my wife and told her about these (quite giddily, I might add), she immediately put COTT in her NetFlix queue. What a sweetie. :)
Not sure what the scale on these will be, nor the price point. I'm hoping they'll be in the 8-ish inch range. Not overly big with a hefty price tag, but big enough to capture the detail.

I decided to order Bubo from BBTS, with a limited edition of 500 I can't pass this piece up.

I don't know why but i got a Ray Harryhausen GG bust. It looks so cool, and he also signed it for me. I love all his movies and he seemed so down to earth considering what he did with movies i just had to have it. I think last year they made another 50 busts but in white mine is blue and green.

I received an e-mail from BBTS, looks like my preorder may not happen. Seems they have a shortage on the Bubo statue, BBTS placed an order with several suppliers & one was only able to send a single piece & another sent only about 15% of the orders. It is unlikely that they will be able to get any more of these, but they will keep my order open for a while in case any do arrive. :-\
With bin prices on the bay at $199.99-$299.99 not a chance for a Bubo. :'(

I don't see them hitting $200 anytime soon. I think we just have a case of some hopeful sellers. :) The only one that's ended went for $112. Hollywood Heroes has one for $120. Certainly not the $50 price tag we were hoping for, but better than $200.

Another e-mail from BBTS, they are going to officially cancel the remaining preorders on Bubo's as they only received a small portion & are they not able to find anymore of them.
Sure glad I jumped on the one at Hollywood Heroes. :)

Not exactly GG but this is sure one unique item I got off the bay, a Bubo AM Radio made in Japan. This did not come with a box but I have seen it on a Google search and it has Midnight Owl Radio listed. It has some weight to it & measures 7" high & 4 1/2" wide & requires a 9 volt battery.

The eyes are really something, not only do they have jewels for the eyes but they are dials for the radio. The left eye is the station dial & the right eye is the volume dial & it works like a charm. 8)

I received this bad brute in the mail on the weekend, pretty stoked about getting him. 8)
The box is not all bad, the pop was cut out on the upper left front.

One of the fins was broken at the piece that clips into the base of the beast. I managed to fix it & he looks super. 8)

I'd been wanting one of these for a while and was never able to score one. I got this for less than I would have expected. So not only is it my first multi-lingual COTT figure, it's my first Charon. Pretty cool. :)
And on the subject of Gentle Giant's stuff, what the fudge is going on with those things? I passed on those bastards for a YEAR, foolishly thinking I'd actually get a set for less than $90 because they were everywhere. Now I'm really wanting to buy a set and there's NOTHING out there except a load of Medusas. Nothing on ebay, sites have removed their COTT sections...it's insane how quickly they seemed to disappear. Stupid me for being a cheap-ass, but it's strange that now there's no trace of them anywhere.

As for the statues, I have not seen those on the bay for quite some time. During my searches last year I did come across them single or as a 3 deal but none lately & yes nothing on the net in any online stores. :-\

So I finally picked up a Medusa (still the only COTT GG piece I can find) off eBay, and now I have a stupid question. Is she supposed to come with arrows or some kind of arrow attachment for her quiver? I've had ****** luck lately, buying new figures that are missing accessories or losing accessories immediately. I just want to make sure this one isn't supposed to have arrows of any kind....my rotten luck has me a bit paranoid. :)

It seemed like a good time to start collecting these. Its hard to tell but the plastic window is still there. The wing fell off Pegasus but not broken, still in the box.

I hate busts without arms but i did consider grabbing them. I think i will continue to focus on pickingt he vintage stuff up instead though.

I can't get myself to order these. :-\ As much as I'm usually game for new COTT stuff, these look to be the same sculpts as the roto figures, minus the arms and legs. Obviously they're probably a little higher-quality being resin rather than vinyl, but I don't know....I'm having trouble pushing the button on these.

I just sent GG an email on the status of the busts, they never gave me a tracking number for FedEx & no parcel thus far. I know GG was having some technical problems from the Sept holiday weekend but this shipped before that.
Hopefully this can be sorted out. :-\

I never got a reply back from GG, I sent another e-mail regarding the busts. If I don't get a reply soon then I'll be calling my CC company for a charge back.
