Title: Famines Customs! Sith Lord!
Post by: Famine on January 13, 2004, 10:03 PM
http://www.jptoys.com/customs/kevin/index.html

A few customs of mine from my personal Jurassic Park Collection. I hope to soon have some of my Star Wars customs up for show.

If this doesnt go here, or a mod wants to delete it, feel free. I just thought I would share these.

Nah, it's cool Famine.  I think it's nice to see a little bit of branching out to other genres...  I've done a few WW2 figures that someday I'll possibly display perhaps and would want to display them with my SW.

Good stuff for sure...  And hope to see more.

I know why:

My host went down while my computer was broke, so all my pics were lost. Ill try and find the floppy this week that I had them in, and get them up to replace the broken images.

Does this look like Carth Onasi from Knights Of The Old Republic?

My friends keep commenting how it does, and I was curious if anyone could use this new fig for an attempt?

After we changed over at JPtoys.com I think some links got whiped and renamed.

Maybe a picture of this Carth Onasi person could help me out in varifying the toy for ya, CHEWIE.

Title: Famines Custom Thread Updated 12/26! New Jedi!
Post by: Famine on February 17, 2005, 11:32 AM
Ok, I'm begining work on a Dio-Story, and I need help with a wash. I'm using a Saga Endor Trooper, without any modifications, because, well I like it, and I want to give his shirt a really worn and scummy look. He's seen better days. What is the best way to make a wash so I can help with that effect?

Also, some one loses a limb, so how do I make a removable limb for a certain charachter? That would be good to know, if anyone can help out.

Thanks, and I'll have pictures of my Droid customs soon, and possibly some of my main charachters.

Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: CHEWIE on February 17, 2005, 03:50 PM
These customizing threads sure have been dead lately here; nice to see a new topic.

Hmmm... you mean his grayish undershirt?  I would suggest a bit of black paint, with brown and maybe a touch of silver.  Mix them together, and with a bit of water dab it onto the shirt.  There may be more effective methods, but that's the way I'd try it.

A removable limb... do you have a dremel?

If so, cut an arm off, maybe at the elbow area.  Drill a semi-deep hole into the cut area from the forearm as well as the bicep so you can insert something in-between them to hold them together, but can still be pulled apart.  Maybe a cup from the Cantina sets would work to hold them together.  I would experiment with a junk figure first.

Looking foward to seeing some pics!

Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: CHEWIE on February 17, 2005, 08:33 PM
Hmmm.... do you have a pic or anything?

The easiest way I think to do this would be to use a hand that is removable from another figure, like any articulated wristed figure.  That way there is a peg already there.  You could just pull it out of the hole from the Jango figure's wrist, as his hand is articulated as well and should be able to boil-n-pop.

Make sense?

If you are using a JP figure's hand, you will probably need some way to create a peg that attaches it to the wrist of the Jango figure's arm.  At least I think that's they way I'd do it.

Ok, CHEWIE. Think screaming face SAGA luke's hand will do?

Kevin
Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: CHEWIE on February 17, 2005, 09:48 PM
I'm assuming your are talking about the left hand (not the one that gets chopped off is ESB, right?) - I can't say 100% for sure, as I've never removed that hand before - You should be able to boil-pop it and if it doesn't work, you have an extra hand for a future custom, or you could just put it back on the Luke.

I'm thinking you will need one with a thicker peg - I'm not sure how thick that peg is, but perhaps a figure like the Fleet Trooper... Dannik Jerricko has some pretty big damn hands - that would probably definitely work.

Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: Famine on February 18, 2005, 03:09 PM
Ok crew, I was messing around with a custom I'm going to be showing soon, and somthing irritated me to death. I wanted to give him some scrapes and scars, but I didn't know the right way to do it. I had tried to once on another figure, and it didn't turn out so hot. What I had done, was bent a staple into a stick, and held it with pliers. Then I used a lighter to get it white hot, and then tried to make a scratch. It turned into a big mess. A whole deep guash in his face.  This time I was looking for an easier, less messy way of doing so. So I decided to cut the mofo up.

All you need is:

1. Exacto Blade or a Box cutter with a fresh blade
2. Red paint of varying shades (older wounds, degree of damage, etc)
3. A steady hand

First, take your figure and make sure he's completley still in your hand. Holding the area you wish to scar, CAREFULLY make a mark on the flesh. Repeat in the same area at least twice.

Once you have made the cuts to your liking, take some red paint, (I used Apple Barrel-20784 Red Apple) and use your finger to rub it into the cut area. Remove all surrounding paint.

When your done, it should look like a neat little scar or cut without a mess. Now go wash your hands, because no one likes red fingered weirdos.

I'm sure I'll be using this method more often.

Got any other tips?   :)

Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: Famine on February 18, 2005, 03:23 PM
Yes, actually.

Rather than do a wash, if you want to make a figure with a lighter color shirt dirty, try a blunt pencil. Draw all over your figure in a variety of shades, untill it's nearly covered. Then, take a piece of paper towel, or your finger even, and rub the dust of the pencil lead into the cracks on the figure, and when your done you'll have a scruffy looking piece of scum.

Son of a gun. My darned ideas got to me, and now I've managed to break the head right off of the neck peg, because I got impatient with burning my hand over boiling water again. Son of a boat. This irritates me. Plus I'm out of black paint, and I had to use a sharpie to color a mans crotch. Now I have to "pin" the head on or somthing.

Ratsin fratsin... >:(

Ah, the joys of customizing!

I totally screwed up a figure myself today.  I was so pissed off.

 :P
Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: Famine on February 22, 2005, 10:12 AM
As was I, but I learned snapping the peg off of a head is not the end of the world. I put a pin in, and stuck it back to the neck, and all was well. I was happy, he was happy he had a head, and all was well.

My venture for yesterday was taking the legs off of Darth maul and attaching them to Endor Rebel, so he didn't have that STUPID leaning pose he always has. I want him to be more nuetral. Then, I got to thinking he's Rykrof Enloe from your story lol, so I was going to change heads, so I went to boild and pop, pulled his head and snap. So I figured if anyone complains I'll just throw rocks at them.

Any idea on what hands I could swap for Endor Rebels? I tried SAGA Qui-Gon's hands, but they are really lose, and I want to be able to swap out hands for different scenes. I like little details like that, ya know?

Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: CHEWIE on February 22, 2005, 10:24 AM
Well, most of the Endor Troopers wore gloves... I would say maybe some Darth Maul gloves?

I love your idea of switching legs... I need to do that too.

As for the boiling, I use a pair of tongs to get my figures out.  I used to use a spoon or a fork, and it was a bit more difficult!

 :P
Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: Famine on February 22, 2005, 10:42 AM
Oh, I use tongs too, but the boiling water likes to splash me, or lurk inside the chest cavity of Mr. Maul, so when I pull it out, I get burned, alot. Oh well, it's no matter.

At least he has a neutral stance.I don't think I dare and try and paint the rubber of his pants.

Getting to a camera is a problem. Sometime soon, I'll either cart my sorry stuff down to my friend Will's house, and take snaps then, or get him to cart his butt up the hill and snap them here. I'd like to finish a couple more before I throw down some pics. :)

And the description:

Horizon Jurassic Park Velociraptor kit that has been modified into a Jurassic Park 3 Velociraptor. In JP one the raptor had a rectangular snout that didn’t really match what paleontologist were saying was correct. In JP 3 the velociraptor’s look was improved to include feathers on the head and a bony bridge on the nose. Frankly I hated the movie but loved the new velociraptor. So I decided to do my modifications.

Here the mods:

The hind leg was extended downward for more balance.
A bridge over the eyes was extended into the snout were a second bridge was sculpted in.
Real Feathers were painted and added to the top of the raptors head similar to what was seen in the movie.
Finally a Site B base was created to give the raptor an environment for you to display him/her!
Finally model was painted based on the paint scheme scene in the “hero”velociraptor.

The base: when I built the base I envision the raptor entering a crumbling room in one of the abandon facilities on “Site B” and as you can seen from the photos small tuffs of grass has begun growing in the cracks, the walls are crumbling all that indicates that this was once a lab is the Site B stenciled onto the wall.

The base was built out open cell foam and covered in putty that hardens into a surface that is as hard as stone.

I guess my buddy found that on ebay. It blew me away! Awsome custom to say the least. It makes me regret ever getting one of those Horizon raptors.

This is by far my all time favorite Diorama Story ever told, by my friend Tommy Davidson. He's since retired from the Diorama scene, but I figured I'd pass on a different type of diorama story. It ranks as my all time favorite, and I think its just breathtaking. Make sure you have your speakers on cause the music plus the story RULES.

I saw this a few months ago and was positively blown away by the scope and scale and skill of this beauty.

But, a few chapters seemed to be missing.  I remember gaps in the story or something.

Still, a really terrific piece of work.  It boggles the mind how much effort was put into this.  But beyond just the action figure posing and picture taking and manipulation, the actual writing itself is really great, too.

My only minor gripe:  the cast seems a little too big.  It seems like he was determined to bring back EVERY character who had ever been in a JP film before.

But that's a small quibble.  All in all, a truly Herculean effort.

 :P
Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread (and questions)!!!
Post by: Famine on March 15, 2005, 09:51 PM
Your custom Stormhunter doohickey guy inspired that gun, actually. I was looking at your picture and the color of the clone rifles stock almost matched the background of the photo, so I thought you had made a modification. Then I got to looking at shotguns online, and I saw some didn't have the stock on it, and they are generaly assult or swat weapons, so I decided to cut the stock off, and sand it to a curve, so it was like he had a special combat Republic Rifle, because he was once a security personelle for the Republic durring the Clone Wars. But that story is for another day.

The best part about that rifle is that he can hold it like a regular handgun, or hold it close for sharpshooting wamprats while visiting the sewers of Courescant, or attacking a speratist outpost somewhere in the jungles of Yavin.

Wow, you and CHEWIE look rather lonely. Mind if I join you two? ;) :)

Everything is looking good so far Famine, I love those blasters! I had made some custom blaster of my own a little while ago, I watched one fall out of one of my custom's hands, fall to the ground, bounce, and fall off the face of the planet. ;) :-[ Your's look great, they fit together well and don't look like randon pieces stuck together. I really like that sawed off clone rifle.

The custom is starting to come together nicely too.  think he could use a holster or two around his leg. And I assume He is going to get a new paintjob? I'd suggest darkening the cloak a shade or two or changing the color all together, it looks too much like a Jedi robe still. Keep it up I'm looking forward to your progress. ;D

Just kidding.   :)

For someone that doesn't know, it's a POTF2 1995 Stormtrooper rifle modified for part to a droid leg, correct?

I am thinking that this might be cool as a leg or something to a droid from the Research Droid 2-pk.  Maybe make another one of these legs, attach them both, and find some sort of cool head (maybe the head from the Chopper Droid).

Scratch Built.

I busted up Yoda's Flying chair for the ball on top, and the satelite dish on the back.

The body is a WWF monitor from a set. I cut the handel off the top.

The legs I cut off of that cantina guy, with the pants over the fake legs.

The gun is from the POFT2 Stormtrooper rifle.

Some various paints, brillo, and some drybrushing and you have this little piece of crap.

Thats hot! Yes, this is Commander Cow (can you guess where he got his name from?).

He and a legion of only 3 other clones, and a Jedi Knight are stationed on a outter rim single city planet called Obsidion I. The planet is made up of pure black crystal, and a fine white powder with effects similar to bacta. The Republic has an exclusive deal to keep the only existing city of miners(and their small families) safe from Seperatist interference, and general scum.

Thats his short backstory, not let me explain what I did.

First, I painted all the parts I wanted painted (the helmet ridge, sholder pad, chest plate, knee stripes) all black. 3 or 4 coats, if I remeber correctly. Then I sealed them with Super Glue.

Next I took several greeblies and blaster parts and I chopped them up. I made 2 knobs for the Obi-Wan backpack radio area (The side with the antena) and added the little controll pannel from Lukes bacta hand tank. Next I glued a Jango missle I had laying around to the two tanks that are attached on the right side of the backpack. Once everything was glued good and fancy, I painted the bedroll on the bottom black, and then I pained the middle pouch to look like leather from an animal. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Whatever parts were left over I chopped up and glued to spots on the harness, like the side strap, where I added two emergency rations containers.

Once everything was honky dory, I took some black and I drybrushed a wash into the harness and onto the rocket and mechanical parts (except the radio) to make it look like it had seen some time on the battle feild around the galaxy. It turned out very well. Now all the pockets look like old leather, the buckles look tarnished a bit and overall it just looks swell.

He's holding a custom ARC trooper blaster, but that will change once I come up with a new recipie for a gun for him.

Comments and critiques are welcome, and thanks to CHEWIE for hosting this for me, while I work out some server problems. :)

Like I've already told you, the backpack dealy is sweet! It looks great. I don't remember if you said he is the commander or if you are going to make the commander, but like I said I'd suggest adding some black on the faceplate of the commander. Oh, they'll be in the Photonovel. I've just got to keep churnin out customs. The first story will take place on a small city, so it will be easyer for me to work that way. Anyhoot:

Yes, I sealed him with superglue. I didn't dare try spreading it with a brush so I used seran wrap with a tiny bit of olive oil on it, and then wiped it off, so only the residue stayed. Then, I put on a splat of superglue and rubbed it around till the paint was covered (careful on the joints!!!!!!!!) and let it dry for a few minutes. It seals just like it looks. It has the same reflective qualities as the white armor does. :)

I start work on the Jedi Knight right about...now.

Hey Kev,

At Wal-Mart you can get superglue in a brush bottle. Really easy to spread, and the brush is made of a fiber that doesn't gunk up.

I've never tried it as a sealer, but the brush allows you to get glue into sensitive areas without it running all over and getting into figure crevices you don't want it in...

I'll try to get a pic of it tonight, when I take some pics of some custom packaging I want to post.

Title: Re: Famines Custom Thread "Badoo Terr"
Post by: Famine on August 21, 2005, 11:37 PM
The Backstrok---Er, The Backstory of Badoo Terr:

Badoo Terr is an urban terrorist for hire. Currently contracted by Seperatist leader Darth Sidious, he hunts down Jedi and target clone units. Normally Badoo Terr would have turned down such an offer, but after Sidious restored his body after one of his thermal detonators exploded, his beleif system requires him to epay the debt. In addition to Republic Credits, his other pay is useless crystals stripped from the lightsabers of Jedi. They feed his life support system and keep him from an untimley death.

His boots and wrist gauntlets have a Cortorsis plate covering, helping prevent any dismemberment in battle, and rendering a lightsaber blade useless long enough for him to make a fatal blow. Then he removes the crystal, inserts it into his life support system, and he continues on to his next target. His helmet is fitted with the latest technology and can see in various waveleingths and can spot a vapor trail from any ship and/or jetpack, as uncommon as they are.

His modus operendi is sabotaging any communications and vehichles, and staking out the area with traps. Once his primary target is destroyed, all secondary targets fall. To date (Republic Era 8 months after the Battle at Geonosis) he has slain 8 Jedi Knights, 1 Dark jedi, and countless Clones and Civilians.

I picked his name in honor of CHEWIEs Badoo Korba and "Terr" for Terrorist.

Very cool Famine!  I mean Dressel Jr.   ;)

He really has a cool look to him, and seems like a perfect candidate to be a terrorist.  I like the color scheme a lot.  I might suggest just a bit of dry brushing with white/tan colored paint to bring out the details some more.

It's a great custom, a little early for next month, but that's ok.  Don't forget to add it to the Customizing Challenge thread.  And I really like his name too, and that's one hell of a backstory.   ;)

Very Cool Kev! I love that Mando merc. The parts are great, what JP figure soes the rest come from? I really like the coloring, it looks like some of that fake red camo they used to make. Like I already told you I like the gun too. It's a very creative figure, and one of the best Mandalorians I've seen. Great work Kevin.

I like the punk kid too. The helmet is a little different looking but it is growing on me. Maybe you could paint it black or some other color. I like the droid arm, that kid must really be a little punk if he lost an arm.

Great update Kevin. :)

The Jurassic Park parts are from an Exclusive Pack In of Billy Brennan with the ADTA (All Terrain Dino Tracker). His gloves, and right arm and head are used on the figure. The rest is Djass, Jango, and removable Jango Helmet. It was a blast to make, and is over a year of slow slow work.

That punk kid looks pretty cool, I might suggest making his pants darker or something to make him look less like Anakin.  But it's still a great custom and looks like a great background diorama filler.

The Mandalorian is just totally awesome.  I don't know how much I like the exposed skin on his forearm, but it probably just takes some getting used to.

What a great kick-a$$ looking figure he is.  That is one of the better parts swapping I've seen, and the paint scheme is great.  He looks nice and weathered.  Does he have a jetpack?  Not that he really needs one, just wondering.

Keep up the customs Famine!

CHEWIE-Oh he has a backpack all right. t's just a WIP right now.

Vator-He's got a backpack, and I'm contemplating giving him a grenade belt or some sort of Sholder Cannon like "Predator" has. That would be pretty sweet.

Anyone notice the black striping I did on his chest armor and legs? I could have done a better job on those. He was origionally just that blood red color, but I decided to go CHEWIE and drybrush black and silver/allumium onto him to make him stand out some more.

There's a chance I may have another update tonight if my friend Will gets home at some point tonight, because his digicam I'm using hates my comptooter.

Great figures!  Excellent use of parts on the Mandalorian, the only thing that I would try would be to shave down the head a bit (or hollow out the helmet a bit more) so that the neck isn't showing.  If you don't want to do that, I would suggest painting his "neck" to match his bodysuit (like a collar) so that we don't see his skin.  Anyway, that's a small nitpick on a great figure!  Keep it up!

Diorama city.  It's nice to see that your armies are continuing to expand like that.

My favorite pics out of those are probably the ones with the custom Battle Droids.  Those look really nice.  I might suggest investing in some Real Stands for the droid figures, they really work wonders.

Are you going to start making any "environments" for them?  That is, custom backgrounds, flooring, etc?

CHEWIE-I dunno what to do for a background. I havent decided what planet they are on. I'd like to get some CORPS spotlight guard towers, and convert them to Republic Sentry Stations for my display. A little clone encampment coming under fire. I'd also like to get some string and hang one of those Vulture droids flying into battle.

I have some potential projects for Owen that may liven up that diorama some. I'd like to get my hands on a couple SA E2 clones for that display as well. I plan to install another shelf and make it a wrap around, so they have more room.

I need more room. Way too much crap in my room, and my bed is too big.

Post by: Gregorbian on August 24, 2005, 08:41 PM
Very cool battle scenes - I agree with CHEWIE that some backgrounds would make it even better.  A quick way that I found to make some reasonably decent "ground" for your troops to stand on would be to download a "grass" or "dirt" background from Google images and then increase it in size a lot.  Print out 3 or 4 of them (since they're backgrounds, they should match up when you tile them), and you have some instant grass.  Simple and effective.
For actual backgrounds, I downloaded a forest scene (again, from Google Images) and increased it's size so that it took 8 or so pages to print out.  Then I taped all of the pages together to make 1 solid image and it looked like a very decent background, in my opinion.  Just make sure you don't make my careless mistake of using "shiny" scotch tape  ::)

I don't know if you're a member of the Official Fan Club, but they sent out pretty big backdrops from Hasbro in their membersihp packets a year ago.  Jabba's Palace was on one side and an expansive view of the Geonosis battleground on the other.  It might work well for the display.  Anyway, keep up the good work.

Interesting droid - the pics are a bit blurry, but from what I can tell, he looks pretty cool thus far.  Nice use of parts.  Did you just glue on the lower legs (w/articulated knees)?  What color(s) are you going to paint him?

He has Knee, Hip, waistal-area, and arm articulation.

His paintjob is going to be a black base, silver drybrush to near full silver, and then brown oxide (rust) over most of his greeblies and extensions. Like he's been in heavy use. I think he's going to be in a small storage shed I'm building for a diorama.

Nice update, Famine! Let me run through my thoughts...

Badoo Terr: I like seeing Mandalorians, and this is certainly one of them. He's got a cool look and his color scheme is great. My only complaint would be his pose is a little lackluster. I'd like to see him in a more action-type or guard type stance. I like his name too. What parts went into this guy besides the Djas Puhr belt?

Punk Kid: Can't see him, I'm getting a picture of clone commanders.

Droids: As cool as these look like they might be, the pics don't really do them justice. I'll wait for clearer pics before I make any comments, but they look off to a good start.

Post by: Famine on August 29, 2005, 01:27 PM
SLC-I like the articulation I added for him myself. He can be put in all sorts of cool storage positions. I think I'll keep him in a kneeling position when he's working on disecting other droids, but at full height when he's facing down a fiesty battle droid, or a junkyard theif. Oh no, I've said too much! :-X

CHEWIE-Yeah yeah, I know I know. :P

Darth Delicious-The Mandolorian is stuck pretty much in that stance, seeing as he has no articulation. He is a years worth of WIP, so I wasn't as boil n pop savvy as I could have been. Plus I was very impatient, so I just snapped them off. He'll be didgitally edited into other poses in my story. His parts are as follows: Head, Arms, Hands: Billy Brennan pack in figure from the ATDT(all Terrain Dino Traacker). Torso, Gauntley and Helmet: Jango Fett. Legs, Holster: Djass Phurr.

Punk kid accidentaly shared the same image name as the Clone Army of mine. Need to fix that.

Thanks for looking! More soon!

The parts are as follows:

Evolution Stormtrooper Right Hand
Clone Trooper Left Hand
SAGA Plo Koon Torso and Legs
SAGA Dooku Skirt
Jedi Light Sabers
Nikto Jedi Head

Enjoy!

About damn time you updated!!   >:(  :)  ;)  8)

Droid - Really cool look, I would suggest maybe a bit of lighter color on him in some parts, just to bring out his detail.  Good luck fixing that arm!

Agen - Looks pretty good to me, good use of a preposed body here - he would go good in a diorama.

Nikto - Easily the best of the bunch I think, he really looks natural.  This is a great custom, and cool to see the clone gauntlets used.  Steller paint job on this guy all around.  One to really be proud of!

It's about time. I'm glad to finally see that Nikto in plastic. It turned out better than I imagined. I really like the black armor with the brown tunic, it works very well together. It is good to see a better picture of your droid, and he Agen Kolar looks great too.

So did the GF get a camera or did you get one?

Great update Kevin, I really like seeing your work. :)

Whoa...that Agen Kolar looks great. I'm a bit partial to that head myself, as you'll see later (probably in Feb).

Love it...keep them coming.

I like the paint job on Agen. Its a good outfit for him. The Nikto is really fantastic. I can tell alot of work went into him. The paint job on the skirt makes it look like cloth. I just wish he didn't look like he was looking up.

custom jedi are sick, they are my favorite customs figures!

that is an awsome nikto jedi! the color choices are very cool and the clone armor is a nice touch, i've never seen anyone do a clone wars version of the nikto jedi, great updated look.

i never was a big fan of the nikto jedi body, but the agen head looks good on it, like somthing he may have worn as a padawan or knight, looks good!

Kevin, this looks outstanding!  Very well done bud, it really is a nice mini diorama!  Seeing stuff like this inspires me to make so many more dioramas.  Glad the Zabrak looks good - and did you get a new camera?  The pics are extremely clear.  Also, is this made from foamcore?

Not foamcore, masonite, a much more durable material. I plan on expanding this one into a much larger item. I'm glad you like it.

I borrowed my mothers husbands camera.

Hopefully I can crank out a custom tonight to have posted.

Oh yeah, I remember you saying masonite earlier.  I've used it before, it's good material.  I just don't have the cutting materials I need for it anymore.

famine whoa that really kicks  :-X.  i like it a lot.  i think that depending if this supposed be outside, which by the rock on the floor it probably is, that maybe adding floor/wall panels it might bring it out a little more.  just adding some straight lines with a sharpie or coloring in some squares a different color.  also i've seen some small square/rectangular bagged pieces of wood at michaels & walmart that painted the right color and glued in the right spot would make the panels stand out a little more.  or there are also foam sheets w/adhesive backing i've seen at michael's you could cut to desired shape, but i don't know how well they get painted over.  or you could just forget everything i said because it's a really great piece and i wish i had the time/space for something like it.

Awesome...After seeing that version of a Zabrak smuggler a few months ago, I got a Cloud Car Pilot right away and did they same, minus the paint. It'll be a character in a new photonovel series I'm working on after I finish the existing one...maybe after I graduate. ;)

I took a crack at sculpting, with a little repainting.

I like the way the robes and "blind eyes" came out.

I like it a lot, Kevin. If I could venture a suggestion, it would be to create some kind of ceremonial head dress for him.

Looking good Kevin. The blind eyes are a really nice touch. You did a nice job sculpting the sleeves there, they actually look like sleeves and aren't solid as many people tend to sculpt them. I think the head/neck could use something more. Either a head-dress like Vator suggested or even the hood that came with Mamow to begin with would work.

Overall though this is a nice looking custom. Now make some more. :)

Space Pirate perhaps? Maybe just a working class bum, who can't get a break from the local Imperial Force. That's the story he spouts to the Sandtrooper who interrogates him. In reality, this older fellow runs a small pirating racket, hitting large cargo shipments on their way to and from the core of the city. Occasionally he and his crew provide muscle for the Rebellion, just to spite the Imperial forces.

Those are teh k00l, I like the Mon Cal the best. The Pirate is cool, but the shirt doesn't seem real Star Wars-ish. Good job!

After years of hiding inside a Sith Temple, during the Clone Wars, former Jedi Padawan Sveen Tulk came across an ancient Relic, A lightsaber used in the great Sith War. His impulsiveness that got him kicked out of the Jedi Academy, lead him to immediately grab at the lightsaber to study it, and triggered a trap set by it's former owner, a deciple of the Dark Side. Sveen was overloaded with stored dark energy, and even some of the deciples memories. Now he wanders the surrounding systems trying to keep his thirst for power at bay, while dealing with his new memories, and new powers...

Enjoy!
