Great!  I have been wanting a 12 inch Kit Fisto since AOTC.   I am sure people are going to be sick of all the Jedi soon however.

Well, this was quite a surprise.  I was holding out hope for Qui-Gon, maybe next time.

If they do it right may turn out to be really good. Not going to get too excited though until I see the pics.

Smiley head?

I'd sure like to see it have his cloak included (not as the exclusive piece, that's much too "important" to the figure).

Since he does so well underwater, perhaps the exclusive piece will include the breathing apparatus?

Mmm... better than Hasbro's would have been.  I bet the exclusive piece will feature an alternate tunic with a scorch mark across it.   ;)

What an interesting face...  Hmmm.

The face is fine, it's the mouth that sucks.  I don't know if they were trying to go for the smile look, but if they were, Sideshow failed.   Overall, I still like it.
Title: Re: Sideshow 12" Kit Fisto (Jedi Master)
Post by: Darth Broem on January 13, 2006, 09:23 AM
That is how he looks when he's "fighting" the Emperor in ROTS.  I think they were afraid to give him an all out smile.  But they did not want to give him a neutral pose either.  So, they went with the grimace that could also be interpreted as a smile.  LOL!  I have no idea really.

I could see the exclusive being a smiley head.  That would be neat.

I would rather see a new figure that was NOT a Jedi!

I may be skipping this one and applying the saved $50 to a Medicom Stormtrooper!

You're not going to see a, say, bounty hunter in the Order of the Jedi wave.  ::)

I don't know if it has been confirmed or not, but judging by the first four figures presented, will 2006 be an "all Jedi" year?  Just curious.  If that is the case, and I just buy a figure here and there, I might be able to justify the Jedi Luke (if I could still get it somewhere) if I wouldn't be buying another one until next year basically (or whenever we see another OT - or Han in particular - piece).

That said, Fisto looks pretty good.  The mouth expression is a little odd, but I do see what was said earlier about the "fighting look" without having him with a big grin on his face.  Overall I'm sure it will be a very nice figure.  I've been a bit surprised with how many have been revealed already, I figured there would be a month or two between each "announcement".  I guess Sideshow isn't quite a stingy with their news as Hasbro can sometimes be.

I'd like to say I'm on the fence about this one but I'd only be fooling myself.  I'll buy it even if the "smile/battle glare" doesn't seem to look right to me.

On a side note, I ordered the 12" Aragorn  (LOTR) today about 3.5 hours after it was iniitially put up for sale.  I still got the Sideshow exclusive and I think it took under a minute to log in and log out.  Hopefully, it will be this easy on the next Star Wars figure!!

I think they are just announcing them by themes.  Apparently they are going to show us all the "Order of the Jedi" figs for this year.  Then I would assume the Sith theme is next?  I don't know for certain though.

I bet it will be a Jedi Cloak.

After seeing the LOTR Aragorn Exclusive that included an exclusive cloak I have no doubt that this is what we have in store for the Kit man.

I wish we could have gotton a few Jedi Council Chairs as accessories.

Those would have been better exclusives in my opinion than weapons or robes.

Battle Droid - Metal Menace

Posted on Thursday, January 19th, 2006 at 10:58 pm

So by now many of you have figured out that Kit Fisto’s Sideshow Exclusive accessory is a defeated battle droid head. In less than 12 hours, you’ll have your chance to pre-order the Sideshow Exclusive Kit Fisto, and remember that subscribed newsletter members get a head-start with a priority pre-order opportunity. If you’re not a member, sign up now!

We’ve seen some chatter on the boards about the battle droid head, and wanted to answer a few of the comments and questions. This is a unique accessory, no other future character will include a defeated battle droid head exactly like this one. Kit Fisto’s battle droid head features lightsaber damage on the neck, where it was severed. The head is cast in real metal, making it a perfect paperweight if you choose not to display it with Kit (standing victorious atop the head, of course). This doesn’t mean that Sideshow won’t produce a full 12″ Battle Droid down the road (far, far down the road), or that other battle droid parts won’t appear in other figures. Kit Fisto’s Geonosis trophy is one-of-a-kind.

This has got to be the worst idea that I have ever seen for Star Wars items. It is ridiculous that these things sell out in minutes, and that it is so hard to get them even from the site. The exclusives are selling for $150+ on ebay, and there is no ******* way in hell that I am shelling out that much money for a ******* doll.

This just pisses me off to no end.
Title: Re: Sideshow 12" Kit Fisto (Jedi Master)
Post by: ruiner on January 20, 2006, 02:43 PM
Well, the good news is that there's not much difference between the exclusives and regular editions.

Granted, I'm like you when it comes to having something "limited."  And it's nice to keep your collection on the same level (I only have one exclusive 12" figure on order, the rest are "regulars").

I think they should do away with the 1,250 piece exclusive edition and just accept orders for the regular edition.  No need to alienate collectors - I've seen a lot of comments from board members "giving up" because the exclusives are just too limited and hard to get.

Title: Re: Sideshow 12" Kit Fisto (Jedi Master)
Post by: Darth Broem on January 20, 2006, 04:03 PM
Well again it's beating a deadhorse but I can't order the things while I'm here at work.  I can look at them on breaks and such like right now.  But there is no way I will ever own an exclusive unless I am off of work.

I wish they would either bump up the numbers or bump up the time.  Or better yet just include the exclusive accessory with every figure.

Honestly, I don't know why they even bother with the exclusives anyway?  There must be some sort of business gimmick that works I guess for doing that?  I don't know.  Odd.

I can see why people would not bother with it.  You get that feeling the one you have is incomplete.

Oh well I will still get this guy tonight.

I figured I would get Aragorn or Obi-Wan before Kit since Obi-Wan went up for sale on the 6th and Aragorn on the 13th (Kit wasn't until the 20th).  No big deal really, my credit card has already been slammed more than Paris Hilton with my daughters wedding and all but still, it would have been nice to have all three come sometime in July  :).

Actually Beth I read on Scum that they pushed Obi-Wan back because they wanted to get the color right on the outfit (something along those lines) so Kit got bumped ahead of him.

I totally stumbled upon the info too.  Apparently the word had spread already by the time I read it on Scum.  It's fine by me if it means his robes won't be so white like they appear in the pics.  I hope I can get Kit at a good price.

My Kit arrived yesterday and I finally got a chance to open him up this morning and check him out.  The box is a lot deeper than Luke's and Anakin's due to the tentacles.  Great figure and the concerns I had with the mouth when he was first annouced aren't an issue.  The mouth isn't distracting at all.  And the battle droid head - wow, that thing has some heftiness to it.

Now I really need a display case for these.  They've been in their boxes for far too long.
Title: Re: Sideshow 12" Kit Fisto (Jedi Master)
Post by: jadesfire on July 16, 2006, 09:07 PM
I agree with you on how great Kit is, Mikey.  The coloring of the vest was coming off as 'pink' in many of the shots I've seen online but it's not.  The tentacles look perfect with the drap of the hood once the cloak is on.  Again, fantastic detailing and fit on the cloak and clothing.  The droid head's weight was quite a surprise as well.  I have yet to figure out if I am going to display it by Kit or use it as a paper weight (really!!).  I like the fact that the pouches open and I am able to stuff the little extra's in these.  The only down side is that the right hand doesn't have a better "grip" feature.  The lightsaber stays in the hand on it's own but I am very limited as to the poses I can do without resorting to the clear, mini rubberband.

All in all, for the $60.00 some bucks I spent, it was well worth it.

Post by: DualSaberMaster on July 18, 2006, 03:30 AM
Just opened my exclusive Kit, and he is darn near perfect.  The face/head detail is amazing, as is the costume as well.  SSC did a fine job on the mouth expression, looks just like the mask, and make up from ROTS.  I have him posed they way he was in Chancellor Palpatine's office.

When people say the exclusive droid head is heavy, they're not kidding.  This thing is hefty! Great detailing too.

My only small gripe is, Kit's lack of extra hands, but no biggie.

I know alot of people are tired of seeing Order of the Jedi figs, but I really hope SSC gets around to doing Sae-See Tiin, and Agen Kolar soon.  Seeing as Mace is coming out in a few months, it would be sweet to recreate Mace's chump posse, before they get schooled by Palpy. :P ;D

I got mine yesterday.  It's my first SS 12 incher.  The packaging on these things rocks!  I actually got something in the mail that did not have a scratch on it from a company.   Anyway, I think the figure is great.  I have zero complaints.

Well, mine came off easily if I tried to pose them in certain directions but they don't just fall off while the doll is standing there.  I'd certainly call if they just fall out of the socket for no apparent reason.
