They might throw that dragon thing in there that we are getting with the X-Wing too.

I would think they'll throw Vader in this also.

POTJ Dagobah Vader may not have as much articulation as today's figures but it still a lot better than the crap we still see today.  The translucent paints scheme, decapitating action and blow up mask feature make it perfect for the scene.

POTJ has a lot of figures than even today blow the competition away, this particular one was one of my favorites, granted he is no Cantain Han or Tatooine Luke ::)

I don't think we'll see the dragonsnake in this battle pack.  Hasbro will want to keep that guy exclusive to the X-Wing to entice the completist figure collectors to buy a ship.

I agree with no dragonsnake. Here is my revised list:

Yoda (OTC re-pack with pack)
R2-D2 (OTC electronic)
Luke Skywalker (OTC Dagobah version repack with New cloth coat and belt to be in full bespin gear or training attire)
Dagobah Vader (Better Deco ops, more real no ghost transluscent)
Boxes,Thing that Powered R2,Winged Lizard from POTF Galaxy setand snake from VOTC Yoda

I like ...
1 x Yoda - new sculpt, eyes closed, raising the X-Wing

So, with that in mind....

1x Yoda - new sculpt, eyes closed, raising the X-Wing (body possibly based on VOTC Yoda)
1x OTC Dagobah Luke Skywalker (possibly with articulated knees & elbows)
1x OTC Dagobah R2-D2
1x OTC Obi-Wan (Dagobah Jedi Spirit)
1x VOTC or 500th Vader with POTJ Dagobah head
-Various Crates, Boxes, Etc

I'd be down for that. A new Dagobah Vader woul dbe nice, but i would also hope for another creature.

I can't think of anything that would thrill me much for this pack. I suppose if I were going to buy it I would want...

PotJ Dagobah Vader
NEW Spirit of Obi-Wan
OTC Dagobah R2-D2
OTC Dagobah Luke
OTC Dagobah Yoda

Hasbro will give us...

repack- Holo version of PotF2 Obi-Wan
repack- PotF2 Yoda
repack- R2-D2 (a nice, shiny one)
repack- Jedi Luke ("Now you can relive that memorable EU moment where the Wise Jedi Master Yoda showed young Luke a vision of what he could become if he stayed and trained with him on Dagobah..." or some such crap like that)
repack- Cantina Han

Ditto.

I know this would be a long shot, how 'bout a beeping R2, just like from ROTS, except it is his "freak-out" beep when Luke drops him from the Force.

Not many choices at all. It's safe to say there won't be any surprises save for pilot gear Luke.

Here's what I expect:

POTF2 Spirit Ben
POTJ Vader
OTC Luke in Training Gear
ROTS Yoda
ROTS R2

EDIT: I was thinking more about the ROTS Yoda and his use in the modern line and thought maybe Hasbro would realize he's been used too much already. In that case, I'm still wondering which Yoda is still in surplus over there...Perhaps the POTF2 Hairy Yoda? :P

What I expect:
Ben Kenobi  (POTF 2 re-hash)
Luke Skywalker (TRU Dagobah re-pack)
Darth  Vader (500th re-pack)
Yoda (POTF 2 re-pack)
R2-D2 (POTF 2 re-paint)

Well, here's my list of what I expect to see now that we know they're sticking with the five figure set-up for next year:

-Luke Skywalker (OTC Dagobah Training)
-Yoda (OTC Dagobah Training)
-R2-D2 (Saga 2002 Dagobah X-Wing Pack-In)
-Obi-Wan Kenobi (OTC Dagobah Spirit)
-Darth Vader (POTJ 2000 Dagobah Spirit)

Everyone who thinks we're going to be seeing gobs of unsold Battle Packs this spring, raise your hand!

According to RS (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/UPDATE_New_Battle_Packs_For_2007_99704.asp), some info was released about some of the battle packs at a convention in the UK.  This set is rumored to include "Yoda, R2-D2, and Luke fighting himself as Darth Vader."

Seems like most of the battle packs wont have any new figures, will be passing on all of them i think except for Illum as long as it has Snow Bunny Padme

In one of he QnA questions last week, Hasbro pretty much confirmed that these "basic" Battle Packs would be all re-packs for the kids, while the "Exclusive" Battle Packs will be collector-oriented.

From www.FFURG.com:

Quote
FFURG:  Along the same line as above, what about a ROJ Rebel Briefing with SAGA General Madine, Mon Mothma (new using the ROTS sculpt), (retooled) Admiral Ackbar, and SAGA General Calrissian with a hologram Death Star II?

Hasbro:  Ahh - great question! The mainline, or national battle packs are designed with kids foremost in mind. That's why there are very few new, and they are more commonly themed repacks with a heavy concentration of recognizeable and cool kid characters along with a couple lesser known characters to complete the theme (Battle for Sarlacc being a prime example of this).

Now for exclusive battle packs, we take a different approach. We design these to be collector-targeted, knowing that if we strike the right chord they are something collectors will want to go to that retailer to find and ensure the sell-through at the retailer. This is why the exclusive battle packs have more of a troop building flavor to them. They are designed specifically to ensure that the packs will be able to sell through in a certain period of time.

That explains why these recently announced sets are all repacks, but the TRU Exclusive CW one and the Target Skirmish and Mace sets all have new figures, specifically new Clones.

In other words, don't be prepared to get excited about any Battle Packs unless they are exclusive...  ;)

Post by: ruiner on August 14, 2006, 03:19 PM
Well that makes sense (only in Hasbro's world).

I can only assume that there are more collectors these days than kiddies buying SW just because the movies are over.

So let's make the ones the collectors want store exclusives - that'll make them easy to find.

My hand is up...

I just don't see buying much of these. I don't mind them being released, it gives many people a chance to amass a bunch of OT figures they might not have. But it gives my wallet a break.

Like ruiner mentioned, a good set for people just getting into collecting.  They are figures most of us probably already have, but it is kind of a neat set up.  They should have just re-released the Dagobah playset along with it :P.  I would have bought that without hesitation.

Well, I don't actually have any of these figures. I mean, I have Lukes, Obis, Yodas, Vaders, and R2, but none of these specific ones. And I still want Spirit Obi. So I might pick this up if I have any money left after everything else.

You should look at him in the dark, under a blacklight. That dark red lightsaber glows like the "real" thing.

It's also a cool trick to view the POTJ "emperor's Wrath" under a blacklight, the skull glows.  :P
