Title: Canadian Football League
Post by: JesseVader08 on November 12, 2006, 01:29 AM
Any fellow Canucks going to watch the playoff games tomorrow?  The Riders have made it to the Western final against the Lions, so I gotta watch it.  It's not very often we actually make it to the playoffs, much less actually win one.  Hopefully I'll be watching them in the Grey Cup next weekend.  :)

Who's we?  You live in BC now, but are from Saskabush?

I've been cheering for the Riders for way too long to change now.  ;)

Although there's not much to cheer for at the moment - 29 to 4 32 to 4.  >:(

It looks like I'll have to pay closer attention to the CFL this year since I joined a pool at work.  Only $40 to join, but I think they get a lot of people to join each year, so the year end pot could be a pretty good chunk of change.  :)

So far, I called both BC and Saskatchewan wins correctly, but the Edmonton/Winnipeg tie cost me.  A tie in football, what a stupid way to end the game.  ::)  I chose Calgary to win tomorrow, so we'll see how I fair.  An interesting tie-breaker they use to determine each week's winner is to predict the total # of points scored - I chose 197 and after three games the total is sitting at 147.  So if Calgary wins 26-24, I've got a good chance of winning this week.  ;D

The Riders are hosting a playoff game for the first time in God knows how long.  You can be sure I'll be glued to the TV at 1:30 Pacific.

I'm hoping for a Saskatchewan - Winnipeg Grey Cup.  It would be great to see the Labour Day Classic rivalry in the big game.  8)

So, how about them Esks?  :P

Riders win!  They were making me pretty nervous at the end of the game giving up the touchdown and screwing up the onside kick.

Bombers won too, very cool.  Both one step closer to my ideal Grey Cup.  :)

What the hell are you 3 talking about?  Is this some secret code?   ???

 :-X :-*

These are the droids you're looking for.  Move along.

I totally forgot to watch.   :-X  I'm probably as happy the Argos lost (at home) as I am the Bombers won.

Ratings wise it's probably not a good thing since TO/BC won't tune in but damned if there won't be a ****load of drunken farmers roaming the prairie side next weekend 8)

Post by: JesseVader08 on November 20, 2007, 12:51 AM
They won't just be roaming the Prairies.  Since half the population of BC consists of former Saskatchewanites (as I would guess Eastern Canada), you'll be seeing 'em everywhere.  Hic.

Did you mean hick?

I'd put money on Saskabushstubblejumpingsodbustergappers.  Bombers QB broke his arm in the Eastern final, so that's definitely not a good thing.  I think the Riders were the better team anyway and I'll still be cheering for the bumblers, but I wouldn't bet on them winning.

Don't worry, I won't be forgetting.  We cancelled our shopping trip to Washington this weekend so we could stay home and watch the game.  Actually, it was my wife's idea.  Honest!

Whadda brutal game.  Entertaining in being close, but crappy offensive play on both sides.  Congrats to the Riders.

Well so much for the Edmonton Eskimos, the Montreal Alouettes won 36-26 so they meet either the Calgary Stampeders or the B.C. Lions on Nov. 23rd in the 96th Grey Cup game.

So far it looks like Calgary will be the winners, 4th quarter: CGY-22, BC-18 with 7 mins to go. Anything can happen yet.

Back to back Grey Cups.   8)

Edmonton to host 2010 Grey Cup & the 2009 Grey Cup will be held in Calgary.

I wonder who the half time act will be in Edm?
