Title: List of items that have been received so far
Post by: Phrubruh on April 28, 2007, 02:43 PM
I took a few hours today to take pictures of the items that I've received. For the most part everthing arrived in great shape. You can see from the pictures in this thread what we have and what kinds of things we need still need or need more of.

Currently I'd say we are lacking on imperial troops and buildings. But keep everthing coming. I'll keep posting new pictures as soon as packages arrive.

I've got you a package going out most probably monday, It should have been shipped by now, but my work schedule has been extremely chaotic. I haven't had a day off in 2 weeks. :(

It's not going to be much more than you've already seen though.

Looks like some of the Rebels had a rough ride. Most of the parts should be pretty easy to pop back together. LMK if you have any trouble fixing them.

Yah, most of the rebels lost their heads. Shall I glue them back on?
Title: Re: List of items that have so far been received
Post by: Fritzkrieg on April 28, 2007, 11:44 PM
The heads should all go back on and stay fairly snug. I don't really want to lose the articulation if possible. I know some of the Forarm parts are a little difficult to keep together. The funny thing is, that I developeed a better technique for attaching the extened forarm to a rolled up sleeve after I made these. Use glue if you have to to keep them together. I did not want to comitt them to a specific pose because I did not know how you wanted to display them in the Dio.

Isn't Anton Local and will be there at set-up, in which case we aren't lacking Imperials at all? 72 will be plenty.

I hope somebody has a back up plan. Does anyone else have the ability to fill in for Anton if things fall through for some reason. If anyone else whom is going to be involved in set up has the abilty to pack up their Imperial Army and have it on site just in case it's needed I'd suggest they do so.

I'm meeting up with Anthony (darth_anton) the saturday before for our quarterly JD get together. I have no doubt he will come thru.

I wonder how many, if any, tables come with the booth?

FFURG got one at C3. They had to borrow an additional table from Frank.

Two Towers and Junk Yard will be to you in a couple days Paul.  I'll try to upload final pics of them tonight.

Also if you want to show these over at Yak too, please do.

FFURG had to do a lot of its own scrounging at C3, lemme tell ya, haha.  Tables were an early problem, space and other things came up that first night when Doug Schroeder and myself were setting up.  Not to mention dealing with the convention employees, Gen Con employees...  Lots of "crap" you'll go through unless you just avoid everyone and keep to yourselves, haha.

Don't worry, I'm totally committed to being there for set up, booth patrol and providing my Imperials.  In fact, I was going to offer Paul any pre-set up help at his house.

There is only one caveat that could prevent me from being there, and that is if my ailing mother-in-law passes away. I can't see why the army isn't a slam dunk. Even if worst case scenario, I can either hand it off to paul before hand or PenDragon can bring it with him.

Good luck with your mother-in-law, prayers go out to you guys and her.  It's always hard when someone is in ailing like that...

Regarding the Imperials, you're awesome for providing the army.  The diorama is going to look fantastic with them in it.

Anyone going to provide an Imperial Shuttle or a AT-ST or two?

I can provide both. Up to 3 or 4 At-St's if needed. Just let me know.
Title: Re: List of items that have so far been received
Post by: CHEWIE on May 1, 2007, 11:29 AM
Hmmm... I'm all for it (and thank you once again Anton).  I think it is going to depend on how much room we have I guess...

BUT - nothing says "Empire" like the walkers and the Imperial Shuttle.  I definitely think we need a couple of AT-ST's.

As for the Shuttle, since this takes up so much space, and Ryan is essentially planning out the city area, this is his call.

 :P
Title: Re: List of items that have so far been received

I'd say bring them. We'll decide at the show if there is room.
Title: Re: List of items that have so far been received
Post by: Ryan on May 1, 2007, 02:53 PM
The shuttle can come for sure. Personally I HATE the Kenner mold for the AT-ST, so I wouldn't use it, but since you guys want to I'd say that we could have one or two, not really many more than that, as they will take up some space.
Title: Re: List of items that have so far been received
Post by: CHEWIE on May 2, 2007, 06:39 PM
Yeah the Kenner/Hasbro AT-ST does need a resculpt... but I do think we should have two of them in there to add a recognizeable land vehicle to the project.

Crap. Well I tried.

A small request. Can you glue the loose ends of the "wires" coming from the R5/poles to the other R5 part on the walls? It should be on each side of the tab at the bottom. I would have done it myself but it seemed it would be safer to ship in parts.

E>

Oh, and please don't use hot glue on those grey parts that came off the back. It will melt the plastic they are made of.

Paul, my stuff (Reeves) looks fine from the pic (sorry about the late receiving).  The only minor thing I can see is that on the market stall table, there was a POTF2 Snowtrooper backpack that I painted and placed in the hole on the table to serve as a "cash register".  Literally anything can go there though, to cover up the hole.

We have our gold Epcot ball!!!

I was thinking the same thing when I had it painted silver. I bet if you cut it open, it would be like one of those earth core models, on how many different colors I gave it. I'm glad the globe made it intact though. I was fearing the legs would break and kept second guessing myself for glueing them in place, but all looks good.

As for Sarge, he hasn't returned any e-mails sense the 16th of Apirl. I hope everything is okay with him and his family.

Paul, At home we are kinda getting crazy, no furniture etc, as we are moving. I have everything ready to be shipped, but Because every free minute has been devoted to packing our house, I havn't been able to get to the Post office :-\ But I'm dead sure I can get it there on sat, and with 2-3 days shipping it will be there on the 14-15. I know thats like 5 days late, but I can't drive, so Im kinda screwed in that department.

As for the gold Epcot ball, there was a story about when Disney was planning a second theme park for Disneyland. It was going to be named Westcot and was going to have a giant golden version of Spaceship Earth. Some say it was going to house a version of the Living Seas. Harley's globe reminds me of preproduction pictures of this ball. Of course, Disney never built Westcot but gave us DCA instead.  :'(

Wow brent that is an awesome little setup. very simple but outstanding I may try that myself..

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have loved damn near everything Ive sen in this thread, I want to congratulate you all on some of the most excellent work I have ever seen.

This diorama is going to kick major ass. I cant wait to see the pics of it all put together.

I have to concur with what Darth Ennis stated. This is going to be an awesome sight to see. I wish I could go just to see this in person. We had and have the best working on this project. I think everyone needs to give themselves a pat on the back for the great work and Master_Phruby needs a round of applause for rounding us all together. I want to thank him for giving me the chance to add something. I really enjoyed working on this project. Thanks Paul.

Yep, those are they, all right!  Looks like they came through just swimmingly.  Note that EVERYONE in that shipment is a gal. 8)

And God willing, I'll be sending you one or two more things today.  Priority, of course.

A tiny thing on spelling: it's "Esther Criscuola de Laix," that is, there's an H in "Esther" and an E & a space in "de Laix."  But you got the hardest part right!  :)

Awesome, Find's legion of women and the purple pimp daddy meet once again! Hopefully there's no bad blood or too much drama left over from their last get together ;)

Do we have plans for a PPD mini-photo novella? If not, some one should write up a short script that we can put together at C4  ;D

That's a good idea. Maybe when we are sitting around with nothing to do during the show we can come up with something.

I did have to break up a knife fight that the pimp daddy started with one of Fritz's guys over Find's Camey. I had to separate the pimp daddy.

Nice assortment, Smarty!  I particularly like the greenish mantis-looking guy in the lower left.  Whose head is that? 8)

Paul, I really appreciate that you're posting these photos of our stuff -- it's very reassuring to know that everything's been arriving all right!  I hope the $15 or whatever it was will be enough to send everything back -- if it's not just say the word and I'll send more.

Pen and Ryan, you're both so nice!  Thanks so much!  I made this li'l lady expressly for the UGP.  :)

Thank you so much for being a part of this Findswoman. It wouldn't be a group project without you.

By the way, whatever happen to Darth_Ripley?

She still posts occaisionally at Yakface.  Last I talked with her though she is excessively busy with real life.

Paul you probably figured this all out, but the broken droids, and electrical equipment, etc are for the junk pile. The Two headless Customs, have lost their heads somwhere in the move so thats why they weren't included, if you want to add heads to them, you can keep them :P

Oh Finds, thats a Verpine custom sculpt by me casted in resin. they are excellent scientists and mechanics according to EU
