Feel free to move to the movie section, but I thought it would get a few more replies here in the meantime. See the link on the recent interview with Lucas. I am not really surprised since it means another billion dollars in his pocket.

Not sure if this means the live action tv show has been scrapped altogether for a couple of made for tv movies or what.
-
Just a tad misleading there.
The two extra films will also be made for TV and probably be an hour long each. But, like "Clone Wars," Lucas doesn't know where on TV they will land.
Made for TV, just like the Ewok things were, so they could be anything. Hopefully one will be for Lifetime, dealing with Gargan's struggle to carve out a new life for herself following the unfortunate death of her boss, and her difficult decision to undergo triple breast-reduction surgery. Starring Meredith Baxter-Birney.

I'd watch it. :P

Films? Those sound less like "films" and more like "1-hour TV specials" to me.
ps.
Moving this to the TV section since they are made-for-TV...

I smell a Star Wars Holiday Special 2...
-
it will probably be like battle star. have two miny movies to start off the whole series.
-
I think this is a case of us knowing more than them. There are two Hour Long Series coming along. I think that the article/interviewer got it wrong. This doesn't jibe with anything that Lucas has said so far. I doubt he'd go from planning 100 episodes to doing only two.

...How the Emperor Stole Christmas.

I was gonna make the Baxter-Birney crack and you beat me to it... >:(
If one's on Lifetime though, where does the other one go? Spike?
Maybe the SFC and it'll have effects worse than the Special Editions had originally.
-
Might be Spike gets the license to show the movies next year. The TV shows/movies are most likely to go on, Spike, Cartoon Network (or Adult Swim), HBO, Fox or Cinemax.
Lucas needs to do some post-ROTJ stories though. It's like he thinks the SW universe ended when the credits rolled in ROTJ.
