Hi everyone. I just joined, as I'm getting into the Star Wars Kubricks, and noticed that you have a pretty well developed section here for discussion on these pricey little bastards (and an absolutely outstanding photo gallery--big props to whoever is responsible for that). I am a huge fan of the original Star Wars movies, but I don't collect any of the regular Hasbro figures, so I will probably be a bit of an aberration here (I got the POTF figures when they first came out in the 1990s, but that was about it). But that's OK, right? Diversity is good sometimes, I think. My big toy loves are Minimates (my gateway into Kubricks), vintage and 25th Anniversary GI Joes, vintage as well as "Classics," "Alternators" and "Masterpiece" Transformers, and Palisades Muppets. As for demographics, I am a 28 year old white male (big shocker there, huh?), as well as a poor grad student. I have two dogs, and I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I hope that I can contribute something here, and can learn a little something about these figures. Cheers!
--edit: I just read the previous entry's post, and I should note am also an avid "opener." I don't believe in confining my poor toys to their clear plastic wombs/coffins--

Welcome aboard...
Yup, Kubricks are sort of a specialty around here among several collectors and staff. Not my thing, too expensive for me, but very appealing little figures for sure. So enjoy the site and browse around too while you're here... Lots to talk about, especially in the coming months.

Welcome! :)
I gave up on Kubrick collecting a while ago, I just lost interest and realized it would take way too much money to amass a decent-sized collection. But they're really neat, and I admire anyone who can keep up with them! Glad to hear you managed to avoid Hasbro stuff. I'm not as lucky...Mighty Muggs in particular. Those chunky adorable bastards... >:(

Welcome to the boards. We have a pretty extensive pet thread as well if you have pictures to share. ;D

Thanks guys! Yeah, I probably spent $200 on Kubricks since the beginning of the month, and am struggling to keep myself from buying more. The figures that I want but don't yet have range from 25-50 bucks each, so I'm going to try and stagger my collecting over the next few months. I will also check out the pet thread, as I do have lots of crazy pictures of these beasts.
