Title: droid factory
Post by: nack5811 on July 15, 2003, 10:01 AM
I thought this would be a good place to get some feedback.  I know little about the vintage line so i need some help.  I have been collecting since i was 15 (1995) but heavily from 1999 on.  My mother always looks for SW stuff at garage sales and I have never really gotten into the vintage because I dont have the money.  I saw my mom this past weekend because I am getting married in 2 weeks and we had wedding planning to do.  She tells me "I picked up some SW stuff at a garage sale if you want them.  I got a 3D puzzle and something else."  She couldnt remember so she said she would call me.  Well she called yesterday and sai she got a 3d puzzle of the millenium falcon and a "Droid Factory."  Now I know she wouldn't have known it was SW unless it was in a box marked SW so I am hoping it is a vintage droid factory inthe box.  I dont have more right now on the condition or pieces but I will post back soon when I go back this weekend to see her.  If anyone knows what the droid factory looks like or if there were later editions such as POTF2 etc please let me know.  Also, if you have links to pictures and info that would be great.

Thank you all

I sure hope its the vinty one. The only other Droid Factory released that I know was in the Saga series last year. Not much to it. If its in a box, vinty. If its carded, new.

Keep us posted.  :)

I don't think it is the Saga one because who would have that in a garage sale already.  Well maybe someone would but I am praying it is the vintage one.  Hopefully it is complete but by the looks of the picture you gave me it will be hard to have kept all the pieces for so long.  But you never know, stranger things have happened.

I will keep you posted on the score.  Probably this weekend or early next week.

I would only assume it is the vintage Droid Factory.  I agree with you nack5811 about it more than likely not being the Saga version.  I hope she got you the vintage one, and if it came with the box that would be one nice score.  Can't wait to see some pictures of it.   ;D

Hey everyone.  I am sorry but I am going to have to keep you in suspense with the pictures until next weekend.  I had too much wedding stuff to take care of so I didn't get to go home to see my mom.  But I do have some more info for you all.  It is the vintage set and still in the box.  She is not sure and as do I highly doubt that it is complete.  And the best part, she paid nothing for it.  Yeah nothing.  Free always makes it better.  I will post more info as I get it and will be sure to post pics.  Until then.

Very cool. Yes free is always good.

Take some pics of the contents when you can. If you are short some I have a few extra loose pieces. If you need any I have you can have those. I will never use them.

Reconsgt that is very gracious of you.  I will definitely let you know what pieces, if any, that I need.  I should hopefully be getting the factory very soon so I will keep you posted.  That you again for the offer Sarg.

Well everyone the moment has come and I have bad news.  The "droid factory" my mom picked up is the "droid factory" from rose art where you can make and draw your own droids.  Still cool but not what I had anticipated.  i like the slates for the droids, they are pretty cool.  BUt i also picked up a 3d puzzle of the falcon.  Im happy just wished I had more to post for you all.  Thank you for your interest and help with the parts offers.  It was all greatly appreciated

Bummer.  Sorry to hear that nack...   :-\

Oh well, still fun (and free) Star Wars stuff, which is always cool!  Maybe your Mom will find you a real vintage Droid Factory at a garage sale one of these days!  Good luck to both of you!   8)

I was hoping it was a vinty Droid Factory. Like Matt said, someday it may happen & you will luck in on one.   ;)
