I just quit my job today, and I feel kinda bummed about it. I worked for Global Computer Supplies in computer sales (to corporate environments), and I had to quit because they don't treat their employees well at all. It's such a long story, but I just don't feel like going into it right now.
If ANYONE here knows a company that's looking for a computer related technical (hands-on) or sales position please email me at crhoads@ameritech.net. It must be in the Chicagoland area, because that's obviously where I'm from.
The worst part is that I don't have another job lined up.

Just kidding Chris (sort of). Sorry about the job, that's a bummer to hear. How long had you been there? I'm sure someone like yourself with such an impressive SW collection... uh, I mean job experience, should be able to land something new in no time! :)

Matt, don't worry about getting your money because I have plenty saved up, and my wife makes quite a large amount of money being the VP of her bank. ;)
I already got one phone call from a company today about doing sales (something I'm trying to get away from), so that's at least a good start. I'll keep everyone here posted as to what happens.

Good Luck with the job search Chris...sounds like you made the right choice though. With a background in computers I would think you would be able to pick your next career path, my advice would be not to settle and pick the perfect job for you, especially with Momma Warbucks
My brother's fiancee is also a Chemical Engineer and he is a lowly Elementary School teacher, I keep teasing him about his sugar momma and he is very happy with the fact that he will be supported by her :P

We've been married now for just over two years, and currently we don't have any children. But when we do have kids I'm going to be the at-home father and she'll continue working. She works for an AWESOME company, had the perfect job, her company loves her to death, AND she's making great money. There's no way she's going to leave there because of a baby. And I can't wait to be the Mr. Mom some day next year (when we plan on trying to have our first child).

After being unemployed for four months I have finally found a job. Actually this company found me. Today was my first day of working, and I'm doing a month-long project in downtown Chicago. I'll be doing I.T. Security Administration for a bank... something I've wanted to try for a while now. It's very interesting stuff, and I'm learning so much.
So, it's going to feel so damn nice when I finally bring a paycheck home. ;D

I just finished work for the summer but the town supervisor likes me so much they keep having me come back to do strange odd jobs. Hell, I get paid for it, so, bring it on!

Taking the train into the city, walking to the office, and booting up the computer... they all feel great to me! It is so awesome having a job again. The only bad thing is that it's only going to happen until August 29. It's just a one month gig, but hopefully they'll either extend my stay there or hire me as a fulltime employee. I'm not going to worry about it right now, because I'm in a great mood. ;D

They asked me if I could work an extra two weeks for them. I immediately accepted their offer. Some of the guys that I have become friends with said they're looking to hire someone soon, doing the same stuff that I'm getting trained on. So, hopefully that might turn into something REALLY nice, like a job offer! I'm not getting my hopes up, but I've definitely got my fingers crossed.

Well, what was originally suppose to be a 3-week project has now turned into a 5-week project. And the consulting agency that hired me to work at this bank has said there's a very good possibility of me being hired as a full-time employee with the bank. That is AWESOME news! ;D
Other people who work in the same department there as me have told me this is how they hire people... they bring you in as a consultant, test drive you to see if you'll work in their system, and if you're good they'll hire you.
I'm a very happy camper right now!

Just want to share my good fortune also... I was fortunate enough after a grueling search to find an outstanding job this week! ;D :o ;D
Only 3 days a week, working doubles, at an extremely generous wage. It has definitely been a long time coming...
Look out Hasbro, I'm comin' to spend this time...

After 5 months of not working I finally got myself a job! It's not that I wasn't looking, but the market absolutely sucks so it was just hard to find something. I will be working as an Application Security Administrator (ASA) for the Chicago Federal Home Loan Bank. I am very excited about doing this job. The long wait was worth it, because I'm going to have awesome benefits and it pays very well. I start working there on Monday. I am a happy camper! ;D

It's the same place I was working at just recently (temping). It's a great environment, and the pay is outstanding (more than I was ever expecting). Thanks for the congrats Matt.
