Do we really not have a Wave 8 thread in here yet? ???

So far the waves and figure selection has been pretty solid. I think this is the least interesting wave so far. The Emperor and another in the rainbow of clone troopers do not interest me.
Luke Stormtrooper looks sweet though.

Ditto. Not at all impressed with the Emperor, buuuuut I bought Yoda and he's a step up from that. I don't mind the clone so much, but would much rather have another OT figure. Where is my Lando Hasbro???

Kinda surprised by that... there are a few figures they haven't gotten to yet that I thought were sure things in the first few waves -

I'm not surprised. I think Hasbro is holding back... to a degree. They probably want to keep people coming back for iconic characters just like these. Especially when they've already rattled off three versions of Luke with another two on the way, and almost as many versions of Han Solo. Keeping core characters like that in reserve for later releases is probably being done to prolong the life of the line.

I'm a little bit surprised that we haven't seen the characters Jeff mentioned as well, although I do see the point of holding something back. The future lineups are so tough to predict with this whole "new movie every year" schedule we are approaching. So far, the 6" Black Series has been a very slow pace - which is fine - but doesn't necessarily leave a lot of slots open for each year. We've seen those leaked pics apparently of 6" stuff from the Force Awakens, so I wonder if we'll see a lot of OT (or PT) characters in the upcoming years. Then again, looking at Marvel's Legends line (also 6"), they are sure cranking those out this year. It is possible we might see an increase in the SW line as well (especially if they just go to 5 POA for the 3 3/4"). There is just so much up in the air with the line these days, and Toy Fair didn't do anything to clear things up. It will just be nice to know the direction of the line coming up, even if we don't know a ton about specific releases.

Yeah, I get that. I guess I was trying to say I'm surprised they could control themselves that way. I thought for sure they'd do ANH Leia before Boushh or ANH Luke before Stormtrooper Luke, but I get why they are saving those versions (and Padme and Jango and the rest of the mains they haven't done yet).

I have to wonder how vigorously Hasbro is going to take on THE FORCE AWAKENS before they start getting back to characters from the OT and PT again. I can think of at least 10 really solid character choices from both trilogies that would make for excellent 6" figures.

I'm surprised by the lack of interest in the Emperor, to me he's a must have. I'll admit the way the hood is tacked onto his robe is a little strange, but other than that I think it's a great looking figure.
