Putting this here until we start up the Rogue One Toy Board/forum...
Should not be a surprise that this Fall will bring a new line look... Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Product Packaging Revealed (http://www.starwars.com/news/rogue-one-a-star-wars-story-product-packaging-revealed)

I like it.

Imperial fetishization, anyone?
I'm not surprised by the presence of a masked Imperial on the packaging. That's stock and trade Star Wars marketing at work. And you knew that people were going to lose their minds as soon as they saw the AT-AT's in the trailer.

I believe Making Star Wars reported months ago that the new Death Trooper would be featured on the packaging, though they made it sound like it would be something similar to the Legacy/Clone Wars line. The AT-AT's are a cool surprise.

Why our youth grows up to be evil, all the Star Wars packaging promoting the villains.
-
More fun to be bad than good. But being good at being bad is the best.
-
Especially in this case all the Empire imagery is very familiar and key to the story. It sounds like a darker movie and having villains on the box makes sense. And I doubt we'll see all that many battles with X-wings or any other well known Rebel symbols.
If they put Jyn or some of the other currently unknown Rebel guerrillas on the box it wouldn't be very recognizable.
I think the design is sweet.

I like the design/theme as well. It's funny though that they chose the bad guys versus the good guys or "Rogues" as it were for the design. Some thing about this design screams vintage Marvel comics as well as Walmart t-shirt at the same time. :P

Don't they almost always choose the bad guys on the card / box design? Kylo Ren, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, etc.? I'm not sure if this is because they get all the cool costumes, or if there is some consumer psychology involved, but it seems like its almost always the baddies.

I resemble that remark! ;D
What't not to like? At-At's, TIE Fighters, Imperial Trooper, Imperial emblem. I'm in heaven.
