Title: How to tell the difference between an original and recarded figure

I am going to potentially buy some or part of a collection that includes some carded figures.

Most notably, a carded Fett (not sure yet which one).  Can anyone refer me to a resource on some ways to tell the difference other then the obvious (look at it?)

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have heard of a waffle pattern on the glue application, can anyone post a close up pic?

If you can, take a dig camera with you & get some pictures of the figures. Maybe snap off some shots & tell them you are interested & that you will get back to them. This way you can check with references online & on the board by posting the pics so members can see & offer there advice on them. Just a thought.

Who's the guy you're buying them from?  Might actually know him, or at least know if he's reputable...

Good luck, and look them over good!  Tell us what your stash looks like when you get back...   8)

Hey Dale / Matt:

Not quite yet.  I called the guys and left a message, no call back as of this morning.  Something seems shaddy, they says he has 500 loose figures and some carded including Fett.  They seem flightly over the phone, we'll see.

Dale, thanks for finding those threads, I was looking for re-card or repro.

Matt - only two first names, Dave and Mark in Calabasas.  I like the idea of the pic's, and if I do meet up with them, I do what you recommended.
