Title: an old collector
Post by: Darth jaybo on March 28, 2004, 12:08 PM
Hi

I still have most of my vintage collection of star wars figures from when I was a kid.  I collected most of them apart from the last set whch included yak face and luke in stormtroopers outfit (from what I hear theses have become the most valuble, dam!)  I do have imperial gunner from the last set, but for some reason he and the rest of his set do not appear on the back of his packet.

Although I still have my collection, I have never really looked in to their value.  Like I said, I have most of the figures, some with weapons and some with packets, unfortunatley they are not in the packets.  some of the packets are the old star wars palitoy type with the gold luke and leia logo, for example, I have walrus mans packet with 20 figures to collect and the death star playset on the back.

as regards to weapons, I wouldnt know whos is whos now apart from lights sabers and yodas snake and walking stick etc

I also still have a few ships which include the falcon, x wing scout walker and jabba.  I also have a 12 inch boba fett.  I also colected a few of the newer figures a few year ago, I left these packaged, just incase and then later on i collected a few episode 1 figures and a jango fett.

So has anyone any ideas if my collection is worth anything? i doubt I would sell it but i am curious.

cheers

Jay

Hi Jay. Welcome to JD. Sounds like you have some really neat stuff.

The 20 back Walrusman you mentioned, does it look the the back of this card in the archive & does it have the Palitoy logo on the front of the card like the Luke?

British Palitoy 20-Back  (http://www.toysrgus.com/images-forei/palitoy-xwing-20b.html)

As for weapons & accessories, this link has pictures & list who they belong too.

Now as for what they are worth, it all comes down to, they are only worth what a person is willing to pay. The best place to look is completed auctions on eBay. What the public pays for an item is the current market value IMHO.

If you can share pictures of your stuff, It would be interesting to see what you have.  :)

Hi

yep that is the same packet type I was reffering to, only mine isn't in very good condition.  For one, all the names are cut out of the cards as I used to send off for the free stuff and 2, some are a bit messy where the figure has been ripped out.

I am going to look at that weapon info now ;)

cheers
