Title: Jesse's Collection - small update page 9
Post by: JesseVader08 on November 20, 2004, 11:00 PM
For my most recent pics, see this post here (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=5801.msg397279#msg397279). (October 2008)

Well, even though my Star Wars room is never truly done, this is how it looks today.  We bought a house last year, and it's so great to finally have a home for everything.  But I do need to knock out a wall to the next room - I'm already out of space and still have my Micromachines boxed up.  I've just got to convince the wifey that it's a good idea - how long do you think that will take?   :)

This is actually the hallway outside my room, it just keeps growing!

Lots of glare in this pic, but it gives you an idea of the hallway from the other angle:

And a closeup of some of my favourite deluxe figs:

One of favourite sections, my Darth Vader shrine:

My one and only carded vintage figure, hopefully will be joined by more in the future:

These are some of my favourites, the Unleashed:

The Power of the Jedi line has always been my favourite, because of items like the 25th Anniversary packs:

Here's a shot of my line-up of vintage baddies and my favourite vehicle, the AT-AT:

And at another angle you can see some of other vintage stuff:

7 down, 5 to go, still working on completing my VOTC collection:

And here's the heart of my collection, about 300 modern figs here, 3 or 4 figures deep on pegboard.  This way I can rotate which figs I actually display.  Someday I'll have enough wallspace to show them all at once!

Of course, I had to get a few doubles to open:

Love that Wampa!

And my sole 12" figure, Han with his Tauntaun, a Christmas gift from my mother-in-law a couple of years ago.  And they say the in-laws are all bad...  ;)

And as a sidenote, I'm a big Bruin fan:

Hope you enjoyed.  I just received my chrome GG Vader and Jango busts, which will need a home in there somewhere:

Additions as of Jan 2, 2005:

Time to add my recent acquisitions!

My Christmas gift to myself:  2 Stormtrooper Mini-Busts, now comfortably with the Vader and Jango chrome busts and Luke Stormtrooper:

I've got a couple Bust-Ups, including Chewie and Han (thanx to Jeff  :)) and both Leias (thanx to freebies from GG with my Stormie busts).  Now that I've got this many, I may be forced (ouch, my rubber arm  ;)) into completing this wave, and certainly the next.

I also acquired my second unique Darth Vader bust.  I've come across both of these versions on eBay, and just can't pass up on these neat looking items - besides, they light up!  This meant I had to rearrange my Darth Vader shrine, but they look nice next to the Technic Lego Darth Vader:

I also picked up the Darth Vader Voice Changer and Deluxe Lightsaber (not shown) - hopefully next Halloween I'll be making an appearance as the Lord of the Sith.  I also picked up some ceramic mugs:

And finally, my daughter Emily posed in my SW room.  She loves to look around with me and is (usually) quite careful.  Emily = next generation Star Wars fan.  Her favourite?  Well, Princess Leia and Queen Amidala, of course!   :)

January 21 Mini-Update:

I've added Mace Windu and Count Dooku, I must find Vader!

Nice collection there Jesse. Pegboard to store carded figures is a great idea, and like you said you can rotate which figures are out in front of the display :) Thanks for sharing  ;D

I have that same Vader thing, the ceramic one on the bottom right, but mine doesn't have a lightsaber. There doesn't seem to be a hole in his hand or anything like that, but it's exactly the same Vader, just no saber. Of course, I got mine in an ebay vintage lot a few years ago, so I'm not sure exactly what it's supposed to be... did it come with that saber?

Yeah, it came with the saber, I got it on eBay a couple of months ago.  It doesn't appear to be a licensed piece, because all it has on the bottom is the initials G.H.  I've seen a few different versions of this thing on eBay - some with eyes that light up, some with the holes in the body in different locations, and still others that seem to be just the same as mine.   I know absolutely nothing about making ceramics, but I think it must have been some sort of commercially available mold that allowed people to make them at home.  I just thought it was unique and could light up my room, so it's actually one of my favourite items.  :)

Believe me, I've played with that idea many times!  But I've had them carded for so long, I just haven't been able to do it.  Yet?   ???  :)

Wow, that's an awesome collection there Jesse!  Very well rounded with so many different sublines represented.  Most jealous I am!

I have to concur on that Vader sculpture there.  Very unique conversation piece, and an excellent addition to the collection.  Congrats.

Just a tiny update:

I picked up Mace Windu and Count Dooku to add to my others, and this line is quickly becoming one of my favourties.  I must have them all!  I can't believe I passed on this line for the first year.  Now if I can only track down Vader...

After getting a few bust-ups, I'm really enjoying them and glad I ordered the Stormtrooper 3-packs from SWS.com.  I ordered three of them, and managed to create a pretty cool army:

I've been waiting for a good deal on these incredibly cute Kinder Surprise Hippos based on Star Wars characters.  I finally broke down and won an auction on eBay from Germany:

Luke - Luke Eiwalker

Han - Happy Han
Jango -  Jango Jet  (I'm not sure why they chose Jango over Boba, he's the only non-OT figure)
C-3PO - H-IPO
Vader - Dark Laser
Obi-Wan - Obi-Wan Hippobi
R2-D2 - Erzwo Hippo
Yoda - Hippoda

I also managed to pick up the ROTS sneak preview figures, POTC (all 8), and the last 2 waves of Galactic Heroes 2-packs.  More pics to come as I rearrange my display wall of carded figures...

Cool.  Nice grab there Jess!  I only know of one other guy who has those (David/Boba Binks), so that's still a relatively unique and rare little collection to have.  Is it complete?  Don't recall how many there are now.  Am I allowed to ask what the set ran you?

I agree on the Jango thought too.  That makes no sense to swap him in place of Boba...   :-\

After getting a few bust-ups, I'm really enjoying them and glad I ordered the Stormtrooper 3-packs from SWS.com.  I ordered three of them, and managed to create a pretty cool army:

Uh...  Where's the 9th one?  Sitting in front of a can of black spray paint somewhere?   ;)

The Hippos set is complete, only 10 in total, as shown in the info sheet:

As for the price, you most certainly may ask.  $32.61CDN shipped from Germany to Canada, about $25US.  Sweet.   :)  It'll never be worth anything, but just too unique to pass up on!

As for the 9th one, well he's kinda useless.  When you mix and match the 3rd set of 3 stormies to produce the 7th and 8th poses, you're left with him doing the funky chicken:

Hmmm... Black spray paint.  Maybe I should try my 1st custom and somehow articulate his arm and make my own variant.  One of a kind!  Must be worth at least $200, or more!  (sorry, eBay rant there  ::))  But seriously, it could be fun to try and customize one...   :)

Complete set, eh?  Cool!  So how big is that info sheet thingee there?  I assume that came with them, right?  Did you get them loose?  Just curious what kind of packaging the originally came in...

As for the price, you most certainly may ask.  $32.61CDN shipped from Germany to Canada, about $25US.  Sweet.   :)  It'll never be worth anything, but just too unique to pass up on!

Damn, that's a very good deal there!  I might have to start keeping my eyes open for a set of these myself.  $25, shipped no less, is a great deal for a small/easily displayed set, which isn't ever (probably) going to get any bigger.  A finite collection is always somewhat of a relief since it never gets out of control, obviously.

Any idea what those things originally retailed for?  The only problem with something like those, is that that's where my wife would really start drawing the line.  When she saw some of the "cutesy" Playskool sets sitting in my hobby room, she got rather annoyed, and suggested there's no way in hell I was collecting that "baby kinda crap" too now...  (her SW tolerance has it's limits, which is shrinking a bit of late)

Of course, I quickly lied and said the GH sets were just for some other guys on the board.   ;)

Those Kinder things run usually around $20 US for most auctions as a starting price and get zero bids usually.  Not sure how much shipping was on yours, but it seems to be the norm.

As far as what they originally retailed for, tough call.  I don't know if they were like other kinder surprise stuff that is random, so it might have taken some effort to complete a set (think lightsaber pens).  I know the displays were available for sale in Germany from one of the web pages (I know longer recall which) and they were pricey.

There is a thread on this in other collectibles.  I think Adam has the display as well as the figures.  I do want them too, just keep passing on them. :-\

Of course, I quickly lied and said the GH sets were just for some other guys on the board.   ;)

Actually, my wife is the opposite.  She gets such a kick out of the kiddy stuff like these Hippos and the GH sets and thinks it's great that I wanted the complete sets.  Naturally, I took advantage of this and did my best to get them!   ;)

Yes, there is 10 but there is also the rare chase Dark Laser in black.  ;)

Ahhh, **** Dale!  Well, I'd better hit eBay - gotta have 'em all!   ;D

I'm preparing to expand into a second Star Wars room, so I've had to take everything off the walls and start from scratch.

We put new carpet in the basement, so I had to remove everything to be sure that nothing was damaged.  I think it took me 2 days (about 15 hours) to pack everything up safely (at least I hope so).

Here's where I'm starting.  This is a little hallway at the bottom of the stairs and my 2 rooms are off to the left.  I originally just had the further room, but my wifey game me the closer room as a Valentine's Day present.   (http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/f060.gif) I played with the idea of knocking down the wall (actually I'd been teasing her that I was going to do it for a year ;)).  But I realized that keeping the wall was smarter because it gave me more wall space for shelves and therefore displays.

Here you get a better view of the 2 rooms side by side.  They're quite small, but it's amazing what you can get in one of them, so 2 will be great.  I also used the little hallway before, but I'm going to see if I can get away without using it.  I'd like to be able to hang a couple of posters there.

This is the room on the left.  I'm going to put a crap-load of shelves in here for all of my loose displays.  I've got all of my toys from childhood (ah, vintage  :)) plus I've been grabbing as many loose modern figures as I can.  One of the first things I have to do is replace the fluorescent light with an incandescent fixture.  I recently read that fluorescent light is almost as tough on collectibles as sunlight.  Out it goes!

And this is the room on the right.  I've been a carded collector since starting in 1995, so I think I've got about 450 basic carded figures, plus nearly 100 deluxe/ultra/cinema scenes/etc and over 20 ships and creatures.  I've got pegboard on one wall now, but I'm going to add pegboard to the other so that I can display as many carded figures as possible.  Of course, the ships take up a lot of space, so they may have to spill onto the shelves in my "loose" room or into the hallway.  We'll see how it goes...

Those are beautiful Jesse!  Did you get a chance to meet him at C3?  He hardly spoke English at all, but had an interpreter with him, and was happy to chat with his fans.  Very nice fella.  I've been sending out postcards with his work on them for the past year in all my trading packages (that shot of the entire Star Wars saga's lineup of characters thru TPM).  I thought about buying one of those prints at C3, but ultimately passed on it 'cause Patty would've freaked.  Here it is:

Nice low edition numbers on your prints there too, if that means anything to ya'...

When I received one of those cards from you from our last trade, it put a big smile on my face!

I did meet him at C3 and he signed a card for me which is a miniature of one of his latest works.  His stuff is just incredible.

Lucky bastard!  Yep, that be the one.  Cool deal.  I assume you nabbed that other one as well, pictured right below it?  If so, wow, that's practically a complete set of his finest work!  Got enough wall room to display all those things?

I should have grabbed it but I didn't.  We had already picked up 2 posters, a C3 exclusive print and ordered the framed Yoda and Vader.

And now I'm looking to hang 6 movie posters, so space is obviously becoming an issue.  Thankfully, our basement is quite long for just about everything, but I'm hoping that there is enough room above our TV in the living room for the framed Yoda and Vader.  That way I can see them everyday.   :)

Nice pics Jesse, and thanks for sharing.  Like it has been mentioned, that art is amazing.  I really like that "entire Saga" work there, is there any larger pictures of it online anywhere?  That really is cool.  I've always been a fan of those Vader and Yoda prints as well, wish we had the money to afford those things.  Great work.  Thanks again, looking forward to seeing more pics.

I'm not sure offhand, but probably your best bet to find a larger pic of that poster is to try Tsuneo Sanda's website, Sandaworld.com (http://www.sandaworld.com).  He's done some amazing stuff.   :)

Jesse, excellent collection for a carded one  ;)  I have to say and quote, "Impressive, most impressive!" Nice to see the wife lets you expand. I have my ROTS stuff out, and my favorites, and my LOTR collection, but over 3/4 of the collection is still packed until I finish another room in our new basement. I have to say damn you though. Just as I thought I was ready to begin backing off collecting SW, you've turned me on to the art! Now I have had to order some of T. Sando's artwork! It is amazing! I've seen it before, but stayed away until now. I showed the wife and because of some mix ups, I know what I am getting for Christmas! Can't wait to see them framed on the wall of my office.

Hmmm, I didn't even realize it lit up until you just said that. Mine doens't light up at all  :-\  :'(

This might give you a better idea what it looks like lit up:

What is this item?  My mother-in-law gave it to me as a X-Mas gift a couple years ago.  It was her son's.  They thought maybe it was just something that a person who was into crafts made and sold it at a craft show, etc.  Is it an actual licensed product?  I never saw it before until they gave it to me.

I was shopping at my local Zellers (similar to a Target) and found an old video game display case that was being sold, so I grabbed it for $50!  The light still works and the glass doors still slide easily, so I couldn't be happier.

And now I have the perfect home for my Unleashed!  Of course, I'll need to paint/cover that Nintendo logo.  ;)

Your collection is extensive and so many unique peices. I'm looking forward to seeing your updated pictures.

And not for nothing I hope you keep the Nintendo logo on that display case because that in itself is a conversation piece. Go on ebay and find yourself an old school Star Wars game for the Original Nintendo to put in there and you'll tie it all together nicely.

Very interesting idea.  I've got a SOTE on N64, that's a start.  ;)

I actually just finished taking pictures of my updated collection, so I hope to have them up later tonight.  I just need to resize and/or crop them and get them uploaded.

Here we go - my collection as we enter 2006:

Here's the entry into my display area.  There are adjustable shelves on the walls ahead and a shelving unit on the floor.

Here's the same area but from the other direction.

These have got to be the coolest promotional set of toys ever - the 2005 Burger King toys.  I've only got the first series (minus the Emperor), plus the first week of toys for the second series.

My Kubricks.  I can thank the Kubrickaholics here at JD for getting me hooked.  I've only got a few of these since I only jumped on the Kubrick ship during Series 4.

The first row here has the Kinder Surprise Hipperium figures, which were only available in Germany.  Too cute for me to pass on, so I managed to get a set of them.  Behind those are my Bust-Ups, which are complete except for the exclusive Holo Emperor, Amber Chewbacca, and the Sith Eyes Anakin.  My Clone Trooper 4-Packs are in the mail as we speak, so we'll see if I luck out on a Commander Gree.

Another "cute" line, the Galactic Heroes.  I've got every set except the last ROTS wave (the repacks) and the newer rehashes.  I'm torn whether to continue this line or not.

This is one of my favourite pieces - the Canadian exclusive set of pins that were made available during the ROTS run in the theaters.  I can't thank Brent (Morgbug) enough for tracking each and every one of these down for me.

These are the first wave of the ROTS-style packaged Super Deformed figures.  I gotta get my hands on the second series eventually (Boba Fett, Darth Maul, Stormtrooper and Yoda).

These were a cheap little set of figures I found on eBay from Japan.  They follow the "deformed" style of figures, but are only about 2 inches tall.  They're all from Episode I, except Vader of course.

Another of my recent finds on eBay.  The keychains came from Hong Kong and actually have a hole in one foot to allow you to stand them up with the modern REAL stands.  To the right are a few of the CiBoys Star Wash (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=7713.0) figures.  They're named Soapie (Chewie), Wash Trooper (Stormtrooper) and W.C3O.  I've got one more coming in the mail, and then need to track down the other 3 regular figures and the chase version of W.C3O.

Can you tell that I like the "cutesy" lines? ;)  Here's the good guys from the m&m's line…

… and here's the bad guys.

I think I'm one of the only people that didn't hate the Force Battlers.  I really like their "anime" style of sculpting, especially Anakin and Obi-Wan.  These are the first 4 waves of figures released during ROTS, but I've since missed the Samurai-style Obi-Wan wave.

Here's the first pic of my vintage vehicles from my childhood.  Every one one of these has been played with.  A lot.  So they're pretty beat up, but that's why I love 'em so much.

Here's the second half of my vintage vehicles.  The TIE Fighter is the only ship that I acquired later in life, but still as a teenager at a garage sale.

Here's what started it all.  My X-Wing Fighter and Luke X-Wing Pilot, given to me by my grandmother for Christmas many, many years ago.  As you can see, Luke has seen better days - yes, that's sticky-tac holding his head inside his chest. ;)

My vinty AT-AT.  It still works and isn't missing a single piece (which is probably the only vintage ship I can say that about).

My one and only carded vintage figure - Leia in Poncho.  I plan to have more carded figures in the near future.

The old meets the new.  My vintage figures are on the bottom shelf and my ROTS figures are on the top shelf.  It's fun to stand and look at these two shelves and see how the figures have changed over the last 28 years.

My vintage good guys.  These are all from my childhood as well except for a few that I recently bought from Cloud City thanks to a credit/trade from Chris.

And these are the bad guys.

Again, my ROTS figures, showing off the good guys.  I ran out of room, so I decided to display my Clones elsewhere.

And the bad guys.  That damn exploding Grievous refuses to stand up for long.  And I see that my Destroyer Droid has dived again.

Here's one of my favourite recent acquisitions, the Darth Maul by Kotobukiya.  The sculpt is so amazing and I love the dynamic pose.  My Code 3 Revenge of the Jedi sculpted mini-poster is beside it - I was amazed how heavy it was when I first held it.

The beginning of the end?  Will The Saga Collection be the last series we are able to collect?  Only time will tell I suppose.  I was playing with the idea of not collecting the newest series because of my interest in other lines, but the card style really grabs my eye.  These are the Canadian style cards that have the common starry background instead of the individualized backgrounds like the US cards.  I just have to find Boba Fett (ideally, with a Boba Fett holo figure) to finish the first wave.

My DVD figure Sets for the OT and ROTS releases.

My collection of exclusives and rarities - it took a lot of work to finally track all of these down.

(http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/collection/023-IMG_2478-Exclusives1a.jpg)      (http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/collection/024-IMG_2479-Exclusives1b.jpg)

More exclusives from ROTS and the silver and holo exclusives:

(http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/collection/027-IMG_2457-Exclusives2.jpg)      (http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/collection/028-IMG_2459-Exclusives3.jpg)

All of my carded figures are on two walls in a small room after going through that initial hallway (at the beginning of these pics).  This is the wall on the left.

And this is the wall of the right.  All of my carded figures are hanging on peghooks and in order to save space, each peg has 2 figures on it.  I had to do a little picking and choosing to figure out which were my favourites to go at the front of the pegs.

Say hi Otis!  He follows me everywhere and jumped into the picture just as I pressed the button.  ;)

The following pics are pretty self explanatory.  Orange carded POTF2 figures.

Green carded POTF2.

Shadows of the Empire, Flashbacks, Commtechs and Expanded Universe.

Episode 1, Power of the Jedi and Original Trilogy Collection, followed by the VOTC - definitely the coolest cards ever done.

(http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/collection/034-IMG_2472-E1+POTJ+OTC.jpg)       (http://www.jedidefender.com/jwall/pics/collection/035-IMG_2465-VOTC.jpg)

Saga and Clone Wars.

Clone Wars (again) and Revenge of the Sith.

The second small room off the main hallway houses my boxed ships and figure multipacks.  This is the wall to the right.

OTC Falcon with the 12" Grievous (the only 12" figure I own) and the Ask Yoda (a great Christmas present).

OTC Ships and my favourite releases from the POTF2 line - the Rancor and Bantha.  And you can't miss Darth Tater and Spudtrooper.   ;D

My only POTJ ship - the TIE Interceptor.  I really want to get my hands on the TIE Bomber to go next to it.

My large ROTS ships and the upscaled TIE Fighter (thanks Jeff!).

The smaller ROTS ships (I still need that TRU exclusive green Anakin fighter) and a few of the Battle Packs.

Evolutions.  Wow.  I love these sets and reallly hope that Hasbro realizes the potential for more of these sets.  The second (white/grey) version of the Troopers is on its way thanks to a trade with Quazar.

My Christmas figures and the uber-cool 300th Boba Fett.

The POTJ 25th Anniversary sets are probably my favourites of all the figures from that line.  You can also see the Episode I holograph Maul and Qui-Gon.

My set of SA Clone 4-Packs from Entertainment Earth.  I wanted to buy a set of these loose as well, but the price was just too much.

Here's my TRU exclusive 4-Packs.  I still need the Imperial Forces one and the OTC Naboo set.

I finally managed to track down all of the POTF2 and Episode I Cinema Scenes.  I think this type of set would always sell well, similar to the SAGA Screen Scenes.

The wall facing the doorway to this room has the great cabinet I bought from my local Zellers for only $50.  They were upgrading their cabinets and I completely lucked out finding this.  I lined the back of it with white so that the items inside would stand out better.

Here's the bottom of the cabinet with my larger items.  There's the 3D puzzle R2-D2, the R2 phone and the POTF2 remote control R2.  The clone helmet is from the Kellogg's promo mail-in during AOTC.  At the back you can see my vinty Darth Vader cases.

The top of the cabinet turned out to be the perfect display for my Unleashed.  I've managed to track down them all (except the first 2 Darth Vader releases) and paid retail for all of them even Boba Fett, Yoda, Han, Stormtrooper etc.  I've been very lucky with this line.

The third wall of this room is lined with my loose figures.  Most of these were acquired in the last year as I went on a wild spending spree trying to track them all down before the renovations on my display rooms were complete.  Since I'm seriously OCD, the figures are arranged by the date they were released, starting with the POTF2 and going through OTC.

The bottom shelf contains my Clones that simply wouldn't fit on the shelf in the hallway with my other ROTS figures.   And, can you believe it, I actually opened one of my ships, the ARC-170.  My daughter absolutely loves playing with it - she gets such a kick out of shooting me with the missiles.  ;D

I managed to make room for the Deluxe figures from ROTS.

And at the very end of the shelf are the SAGA clones.

This is the pride and joy of my collection - my Darth Vader focus.  I'm a HUGE fan of anything Vader and continue to add things to it.  My next plan is to start a vintage Canadian carded collection, but that is definitely going to take some time.  (Closeups of each shelf follow)

And here's the finale.  My m&m Vader display that I got from a store in town after someone else had spoken for it.  They apparently changed their mind about wanting it, so being second in line paid off and I got to grab it!

Wow, very nice collection and set up Jesse.  That's a whole lot of stuff!  It all looks great though, and I like how your loose displays...even though there are a lot of figures in them....don't seem cluttered at all.  Everything is nicely spaced out, you can see all the figures, and its all neat and organized.  It all looks very nice, you've done a great job.  I know I'm envious, and thanks for sharing pictures of the whole collection/room.

Thanks Brian!  It took months to set it all up, but it sure is rewarding to finally have it done.  Like you said, my big aim was to display it in a way that isn't too cluttered.  Because of that, there were a few things I ran out of room for, like my small amount of Lego and miniatures and a number of other miscellaneous pieces.

I was very lucky to get that extra space to display my stuff.  I can thank my wifey for that (since she "donated" the extra room to me and moved her stuff elsewhere).  Now I just have to convince her that I need the rest of the basement.  :D

My Vader focus had a big addition today.  I hit the jackpot when I found a guy that was giving up his Vader focus, so I cleaned up.  Here's what I got:

A huge mix of loose pieces - from Hasbro and Applause 12 and 15 inch figures to Jedi Force and Galactic Heroes to the smallest of promo pieces.

A Darth Vader model, boxed 12 inch figure, radio-control Vader, talking alarm clock, stamper, European release lead figure and die-cast Action Masters figure.

The piece de resistance, a Riddell helmet.  Damn I love this.  It can be pulled apart to show the 3 pieces and their excellent attention to detail (and much bigger than I expected).   8)

Add the above to the pieces I already have:

I've been slowly working on setting up my Star Wars room after my wife and I recently moved.  The room is about 12' x 12' with a 9' ceiling, so I've got lots of space to play with.

I'm sure this is obvious to many, but one area I've begun to focus on is Darth Vader - nearly anything and everything.  Of course, I've only been working on this focus for a couple months, so I have a long ways to go.  But that's why it's so fun.  :D

Anyway, I've nearly finished one wall with adjustable shelves, but there are many boxes still in my way...

Much more to come!

No unleashed Vaders (small or big) Jesse?

Impressive collection though..I'll bet Hasbro has done well to help it what with all the Vader versions coming out and all.

It says Endor on the card but it really is just a repack of the POTJ Emperor's Wrath version. The American version has the Throne Room pictured on the card. Vader was struck in the head by the Emperor's lightning when Vader picked him up to chuck him over the rail.

Your age is showing more and more every day... :-*

The collection is looking really good so far Jesse. I really like how well you have organized it. On of the biggest problems I have with displaying my stuff is the lighting. On Endor Ryan, not on the Death Star (v2.0) orbiting Endor.  Oh, and it's been modified from the POTJ Emperor's Wrath version too I believe.  I prefer the former but consider the latter sufficiently different to justify a purchase.   If they'd called it EW II Vader or DS II EW Vader, I wouldn't have used the rolly-eyes.  But it didn't happen on Endor, did it now.   :-*

I actually had to stop and think about this!  But the piece that quickly comes to mind is a mint 12-back Darth Vader, specifically the GDE card (http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=41988) since it is so uniquely Canadian.  I'd also like to get my hands on an Attakus Darth Vader I (http://cgi.ebay.com/Attakus-Star-Wars-Darth-Vader-Statue-Version-1-1354_W0QQitemZ180083287359QQihZ008QQcategoryZ73554QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) statue and a Takara die-cast Darth Vader (http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-WARS-Takara-7-Darth-Vader-AFA-80-Rarest-Takara_W0QQitemZ290077841746QQihZ019QQcategoryZ50271QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) someday too, just because they look damn cool.  8)

VERY nice Jess. I'm really jealous of that Vader focus. It looks like a whole lot of hard work went into piecing that together. There really area bunch of unique pieces in there. It really is impressive seeing all of the Vaders together like that. I didn't notice it in there anywhere but do ou have the 2nd Unleashed Vader (the one with the removeable helmet)?

I love the glass shelves you have there too, the trapezoid shaped glass is a great feature. Props Jesse, this was worth the wait. :)

BTW, your green and white POTJ Astromech is backwards. :P

Wow Jesse, your collection looks amazing.  Thanks for sharing.  I'm really impressed with how you were able to set up such a large collection and still keep it looking neat and spaced out.  Nothing looks "crowded", which I think is a problem a lot of us struggle with after collecting this stuff for so long.  I really like that trapezoidal glass case, that would be nice to have and seems to work well with the various lines you have set up in there.  I also like the way you organized/set up things in each area of your collection room - nice work.  You've given me a lot of neat ideas if I can ever get some nicer display cases like many of you have here.  Outstanding collection, and the Vader focus is just so impressive.  I have to go look through all those pictures again :).

Nope, not yet.  It'll be a big day when I finally decide to pull the trigger on one.

Well, ****, I didn't even realize that.  Oops.  :-[  ;)

I'm really impressed with how you were able to set up such a large collection and still keep it looking neat and spaced out.

That's definitely the challenge, even with such a nice sized room that I'm fortunate to have.

I really like that trapezoidal glass case, that would be nice to have and seems to work well with the various lines you have set up in there.

I love the glass shelves!  It's great for letting light shine through and allowing you to see more compared to an opaque shelf.  My mother-in-law sold her gift shop a year ago and gave me that shelf.  It really fits well in the room.

Yup, they sure are.  Those are the one released during ROTS, some day I'd like to track down the others that were only released in Japan during the POTJ line.

I've been wanting to take individual shots of my Vader collection for a long time and have recently started working on it.  I been trying to put together a light box to do this, but I'm still not that happy with it yet.  Anyway, this is a quick look at my first attempts.

I thought I'd start with something a little different - my Miniatures, MicroMachines and other little pieces.

Galactic Heroes - "Bronzed" version :o) - 2008
As you might guess, there's a story behind this one.  A couple of months ago, I e-mailed a link to my wife suggesting a cool idea for my birthday - the $18,000 Bronze Lawrence Noble Vader statue (http://"http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=900217").  So she bought a GH 2-pack, painted it with bronze paint and gave it to me for my birthday.  She was quite proud of herself. :D  (She also gave me the Millennium Falcon, so she made up for it ;)).

There are a few items that I am unsure of their background:

I believe this was a Kellogg's cereal toy.  There is a picture of Anakin Skywalker inside the toy and it is dated 2002.

I thought this was released during the Special Edition theatrical releases, perhaps Pizza Hut.  It has a 1995 date on the bottom (but the movies hit the screens in 1997).

This may have been a European released toy since it has a London marking on it, dated 2002.  It also has Nestle on it so perhaps it was some sort of food premium?

This one is dated 1997, but I have no other knowledge of it.

This one has me completely stumped.  No markings whatsoever.

Anyway, back to what I do know...

Impressive Jesse.  The lightbox looks great, and I love the story about the bronze Vader.   :D

Overall, fantastic collection. It's rare to all these different sub-lines of SW displayed so well together.
