Tarkin Vader two pack?

Tonnika Sisters!   :-*

+1

That is really about the only thing I've got on my list from ANH.  I don't need another version of anything I already have, and these are about the only background characters I have any interest in.

Glad the Craftsman brand will live on even if Sears dies.  I think their tool section is fantastic, but could probably make do at Home Depot and Lowes.

I can live without every aspect of Kmart.  Its a dump and doesn't offer anything other than the random SW exclusive that could go to a different retailer.

But maybe the biggest loss for me would be Sears' large appliance offering.  I'm consistently underwhelmed by shopping for these things at Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.  Sears isn't great, but seems to be solidly better than most alternatives.  Granted I probably only buy a new large appliance once every five years, but Sears always seems to win my business for these.

I saw Sears is selling the Craftsman brand to Stanley/Black & Decker too.

Can't imagine they have too much time left before they are either out of business completely or split up and sold for parts...

Article on how the Craftsman brand represents nearly all of the value in Sears/Kmart market cap.  Sears' market cap is only $1.1 billion and the Craftsman brand is being sold for $900 million.

It looks like Sears has been pealing off everything of value creating a separate real estate company, spinning off Lands End, etc.  I assume its only a short matter of time until they shut down all Sears/Kmart operations.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One Class II Vehicle Sets
« on: January 3, 2017, 12:47 PM »
I can't believe the A-wing was never stocked at Target.

In fact nearly all of the distribution for Rogue One vehicles has been a bit of a disaster.  My vehicles Festivus airing of grievances (didn't we used to have a thread for this?):
  • A-wing never showed up at Target (had to buy at TRU)
  • Never saw anything from the Imperial Speeder bike assortment at Target (had to buy at TRU).  I think because they're so backed up with TFA vehicles.
  • AT-ACT didn't see limited retail distribution until mid-December.  Now on steep clearance.

The TIE Striker and U-Wing were easy to come by at Target though.  I don't have easy access to Wal-Mart to know if they did a decent job stocking the Rogue One vehicles or not.

I love vehicles and thought all of these were solid releases.  Although I'm afraid this lousy distribution (and lousy sales) will only perpetuate Hasbro's thought that vehicles are a waste of their effort.

**** Spoiler alert ***

Its fine that they're making him, but I don't recall seeing that guy in the movie.   Here's hoping that they dust off Hasbro's old playbook and make a generic body that they can repaint and put a different head on to have a running change to get a few different generic rebel troopers.

Picked a half case of this wave up for $50 and free shipping at Entertainment Earth (currently in stock).  A few dollars more than I would have spent at Target, but more than worth it to be done and not have to worry about extra trips to Target to track this down.

Anybody know what the thick silver "pen like" things are that nearly all the characters have in pockets either in the front of their shirts or in pockets in the upper arms?  I thought they might be an element of rank, but I couldn't find a pattern, and it appears both the Empire and Rebellion characters have these.

Krennic seems to use them to help hold his cape in place, but characters without capes have them as well.

Agreed.  I think clearance on this might be dicey as it doesn't appear that many physical stores are stocking this.

I'm not sure how much inventory Target and others are even carrying on this.

I suppose Hasbro might have loads of these sitting somewhere and may offer some big discounts to retailers to clear them out though.

Even these days we've got cloud based data backup deployments with things being highly integrated and redundant.  The fact that they needed a physical drive that wasn't somehow connected to a network is technically silly.

If you over think it you'll just be annoyed that they have to physically retrieve (even with robot hands) data from a fancy data tape tower and then plug it in to a terminal to read it (without a security code).   The fact that data backups aren't 100 miles underground in a protected vault but a kyber processing facility is built in to the side of mountain is kind of dumb.  Its also kind of hard to believe there aren't multiple copies located around the universe.  Heck, you could argue that they built the second Death Star pretty quick, even though all of the plans for the first one were destroyed.

Its all just a plot device to move the movie forward and build tension, and I thought it was a tremendously enjoyable movie.

Watched it with the kids and it was probably the most scary episode Rebels has ever done.

I'd love to see Obi-Wan off Maul once and for all.

So I just cracked this baby open and have been playing with it with the kids.  Overall I would say its pretty solid and not a bad value for the $165 I paid for it.

My all time favorite kid vehicle is still the Clone Turbo Tank with the launching speeder bike, but this is pretty nice too.

The app controls are good.  It seems solidly built.  The walking action is decent (I'm using it on a hard wood floor).  Sure it would be great if you could turn it to some degree, and I would like more control of the head, but its really not too bad.

And I really like the play features and the detacheable orangeish "cargo bed".  The zip line and missile launcher are cool, and I really like all the sockets they've placed in the toy where you can attach them.  Big points for having weapons storage compartments that seal up well too.

It was a little too hard for my nine year old to set up - getting the legs attached, the chin guns in place, and the battery compartment re-sealed were even a little tricky for me.  But once set up its held together well.

I had fairly tempered expectations with this and I would say they have been met or exceeded.

Just cracked open my AT-ACT.  In it is everyone's favorite all black Imperial Astromech from the movie - C2-B5.  Um, er.  I've seen the movie twice and don't recall seeing any astromech or protocol droids in any of the scenes with Imperials.  Did I blink and miss him?

I was fine with the Galen Erso story line and them trying to kill him.

To me the only part of this movie that seemed unnecessary was the Saw story line.  I liked the fight scenes on Jedha, but didn't feel the Saw story line was necessary.  Especially the octopus brain reading creature.  That part of the store line wasn't overly distracting, but they could have easily had Cassian track down Bodie who had the message and the connection with Jyn.

Agreed the Evazan / Ponda Baba cameo was forced and stupid.  Highly coincidental that they were on Jedha and a day later were in the Mos Eisley cantina right in the thick of essentially the same story line.

Ultimately those are small nitpicks in an overall tight movie.
