Most of these are in-stock this AM at Walmart.com for $12.83-13.29 each.  Act fast if you want them...

Better deal than the $16-22 they have been charging the past few days. :P

Are you going?

Nope.  Too much family stuff going on, couldn't justify the time away (or the cost). :(

I'm more interested in the "TV Series" that is slated for August. I don't think it's referring to Rebels since that is referenced elsewhere.

It's the latest "LEGO Star Wars made for TV" thing (like Yoda Chronicles or Droid Tales) - The Freemaker Series

Collections / Re: Insurance?
« on: February 1, 2016, 01:00 PM »
The one challenge is that when you have "rare/collectible" items - like all your vintage stuff  - that was originally $2 in the store and is now worth $125, your insurance won't generally cover that "collectible" value.  I know you've got a ton of nice stuff that falls in to that category.

As I recall you would need to get your collection documented/appraised and generally get a rider on your insurance that would cover these collectible items.  Depending on the coverage, it may or may not be all that much.

This is what I found for my insurance as well.  They'd give you the $ you paid for a Star Wars figure originally, not whatever it is "worth".  Like Dave said, for 90% of Modern era stuff, you'd be fine since you can replace a lot of things for less than what you paid.  For the actual, real "valuable" vintage type stuff it's in your best interest to have a talk with your insurance agent.

I have an insurance policy rider on my home owner's policy for the "valuable" parts of my collection.  It's not a big rider since I don't have a ton of "valuable" type items, so it's pretty inexpensive (I think it's $47 a year extra).  It's basically enough that I could replace those truly valuable items I own at the full value it would cost to replace them.

I don't recall what all I had to do (I think it was just some pics proving I owned "collectibles"), I just remember it wasn't much.  And the rider is for "Star Wars and Comic Collectibles" so the actual contents of the collection can vary a bit over time.  I would need proof though if I ever had to use it, so I try to keep my collection spreadsheet current and I take pics of the "valuable" things I own in case I need them if something happens.

The Force Awakens / Toy Fair 2016

Just a little under two weeks to go so it's time for a thread, I guess.

Hasbro's "2016 Entertainment Brand Press Preview" is set to begin at 1:30pm ET on Saturday, February 13th.   The usual slide show (Transformers, My Little Pony, Star Wars, Marvel), then booth visit.  No word yet if any phones will be allowed, but if so I'm sure news will be flowing on Twitter and social media.

That is some great news.  I was really hoping they wouldn't screw that up...  they've screwed up so much stuff lately, it's nice to see them start to get a couple wins again in this line. :P

Hopefully we will see more of these announced at Toy Fair (although do they deal with exclusives there?)

Not usually.  Sometimes they end up in the slideshow portion (that hasn't happened for a long while though).  Definitely not on the show floor.

what would you like to see in this line in future waves?

Your list is a pretty good start - I'd also like to see more FO Stormtrooper variants (Riot, Heavy Gear, etc), an unmasked Kylo, Resistance Poe, and some kind of BB-8 with pop-out or swappable gear/slots for the map piece and the "thumbs up" lighter.

DC has just released an updated image of the new and improved XTREME Scooby Doo -

"The name's Scooby D.
And I rock the telly.
I'm half Joe Camel and a third Fonzarelli.
I'm the Kung-Fu hippie, from Gangsta City.
I'm a rappin' surfer.
You the fool I pity."

My god, Hasbro is leaving $ on the table with that McQuarrie A-Wing and Mando fighter.  I'd love both, neither are "big", both doable in Class II...  I'd be giddy to get either ship really.

Until you open it and realize you paid $30 for a 5POA pack-in figure and an under-scaled ship made with low quality plastic and a severe lack of paint, stickers, and weathering....  #sadtrombone

At least I know a place where you can go to complain about it....  once you're done complaining about how hard it was to find and the fact that the pack-in figure is not female, of course.  :D

What's up with that price?  Weren't they like $200 at the D23 store?  Now suddenly it's "marked down" from $700 to $400?  Lame.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VIII

I guess I just don't see what's stale about any of these.  The characters and storylines are meant to intertwine, so it feels like one really big story with a lot of fun chapters.  I even read the comics these movies are mostly based off of and felt the stories were pretty original, but like I said earlier, maybe I'm just too much of a fanboy.

I can see it both ways.  People who loved the comics/characters are of course going to love the universe-building and the stories.  Your analogy is a good one - a big story with lots of new chapters... but that's only interesting as long as you are someone who wants new chapters.

But, there are a lot of people on the other side who are looking for a new book.  My wife for example is pretty bored of the Cap/IM/Thor centered Marvel movies now.  I'm kind of hitting a little bit of a wall too, which is why I probably enjoyed Ant-Man and GotG more than Avengers 2 at this point and why I'm looking forward to stuff like Black Panther or Dr. Strange a lot more than Cap 3 or Thor 3.

Has anyone seen a list of all of the parts for these various... things... and which figures they came with?

I believe each repack has a new pack-in.  So if you aren't buying the repacks or the carry-forwards, you're not going to get all the worthless pack ins.

Yeah, like Dave says, to build the weapons, you need to buy all basic figures so far.  Skipping repacks or new card variants will create gaps in your parts.

We've got a list right here that shows the sets of three for each new "build-a-weapon" (along with a home-grown numbering system to link them together - ie, you need to buy all three SN-02 figures to build that weapon).

Failing that, didn't each figure come with a little insert showing which figures you needed to complete the "build-a-weapon" thingy? :P

From what you're saying, both R5-X3 and R0-4LO go with the TFA  figures... that's where I'll put them.

I think it was confirmed that, just like the box claimed, ALL four of these droids were spotted in the movie in the Resistance Base scenes.  Either paired up with X-Wing/Pilots or on the ground with crew prepping the ships.
