The Vintage Collection '10-'13 / Re: Top Ten Most Hated Figures Ever
« on: February 18, 2011, 11:47 AM »
Heh, you guys are harsh. Obviously some figures became bad due to newer improved sculpts and articulation. But we still bought those older ones when they came out and enjoyed them.

I'd have to take a serious look at all of the figures to come up with a top 10. There are some stinkers yes, but overall, I'd say Kenner/Hasbro has done a great job. Especially in improving the look and playability of figures.

While of course we have the right to post this kind of thread, I did cringe. It makes me feel as though if Hasbro were reading this, they would get pissed off at collectors and not cater to our needs so closely or ever again.

Like it or no, some of the bad figures did pave the way for newer and often much better figures to be made.

I just want the troopers from the 1st set. I'd like to get the second set though. And extras of the droid to 3PO's right (as you look at it, NOT the FLO repaint), as well as the Utai. And I'd like some extras of those luggage cases too.

just want to say that I am pretty shocked that right now, as of writing this, the Thor case on HTS is OOS.   ???

who would buy this???

It's likely just a placeholder listing until they actually get it IN stock.

LEGO / Re: Legos

I'd have rather seen an Avatar (the Last Airbender) line, than plain ninjas.

I think that would have done better.

Ah well, I barely collect LEGO anymore. SW just got too expensive for me. While the sets look great, I can't justify the cost.

There are maybe 3-4 figures I'll get from this line. Just not feelin' it for ol' Cap.

So far I can count ONE figure I'm going to get from this line. Destroyer is about it for me. I don't like the Hollywood style Thor or other figures. Way to far away from the comics.

Yes, Thor looks somewhat like his costume after the battle of Ragnorok. But most people know him as clean shaven and not armored.

That's what I'm thinking. If I like the movie, I'll wait until a sale. Afterall, IM2 figs went on sale fairly quick. I won't "NEED" to get Thor figures, but at a good price, I might want to get them.

US Agent and Crossbones?  Sweet.

Ah yeah, those will help to make that wave better, IMO.

I found them at my local TRU. They are ok. Grizz Fixx was good, so too the grey R5 and the Asian Pilot.

I wasn't at all impressed by the other figures though. The B-wing and A-wing pilots are just redos with new headsculpts. I'll likely pose them holding their helmets so the difference in heads shows up the most.

I was surprised that the TIE Pilots were both clones however. I would have though those two would have been different.

The R2 looks like a rehash of the Disney R2, just not metallic.

At least I had a couple of $5 coupons for these sets. So I got them for $10 less.

I think Hasbro is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here though.

This could have just been one set with Grizz Fixx, the Asian Pilot, and the 2 astromechs. That would have been worth it to me.

OMG, that Shockwave looks outstanding! I'm definitely getting it. I wonder if this is the Leader or Voyager size. It looks a little small to be Leader size.

Hmm, I wonder which TFs will be in TF3, that have not been in the previous 2 movies.

I remember when EP1 figures hit $7.99, I hope in a few years we will see prices drop again. Time will tell...

I highly doubt that they will drop in price.

I'm finding it easier everyday to pass on toys I would have bought in a second. Prices are outrageous these days. And with the economy the way it is, less and less people can afford those types of prices. While I can afford them, I choose NOT to buy them.

Heh, my Halo collecting has just about caught up with SW collecting in terms of $ nowadays. And there I know I'm getting quality product. I know what's coming out in advance, I can order from many places and not too many exclusives to tick me off.  While much of the same is true for SW, the toys are just becoming less and less appealing to me.

Heck a year or so ago, I was craving the Nu attack shuttle. I'll get one now, but I'm nowhere near as excited now as I was then.

I'd get these pilot sets if they were a reasonable price and easy to obtain. Really though, I just want the Grizz Fixx pilot and the Y-wing pilot. The rest are rather meh to me.

well now that this has been confirmed, I know I'll be getting one. It just depends on when. If it sells for $60, then immediately. More than that and I'll take my chances on a half price sale in a few months.
