Power of the Force 2 / Re: POTF2 Recent Purchases
« on: April 3, 2013, 12:37 PM »
Picked up a POTF2 Oola figure recently.  I much prefer the POTF2 version over the pack-in version we got with Jabba's Throne Set.  Actually, I hate the newer version.

The Vintage Collection '10-'13 / Re: TWO LEFT HANDS!

Reminds me of the Jedi Luke that came in the POTJ Skiff with the hips on backwards.

They released a Skiff in the POTJ line?  I remember one in the POTF2 line, but not POTJ....

Never cared for the AT-TE at all, missiles or not.  On top of that, it's not a Vintage Collection item, is it?   :)

Picked up an INC at Walmart, of all places.  Prior to that, the only wave that seemed to hit Walmart was the Deleted Scene wave.

Me too, Chewie.  We already have enough people at the prison with missing appendages.

Let me just say that it was my favorite episode so far this season.  It was nice not to see Woodbury for once.  That storyline is getting old & I can't wait until the final showdown.

With regards to the hitchhiker, perhaps if everyone in the vehicle was heavily armed they could've entertained the idea of picking up the hitchiker.  But they weren't, and what if the hitchhiker was?  That was the whole point of going on a run, to get supplies and more weapons, because they're weak, right?  If I'm down to my last bullet, the last thing I want to do is pick up a complete stranger.  Also, it's been how long since the zombie apocalypse?  At this point, if you see someone alive, it's safe to assume that they're pretty bad ass or at the very least, tough and/or great at surviving, which probably means they're well armed.  The last thing I'd want to do in a weakend state is pick up a complete stranger who could be a potential threat.  Fear the living...

I have to wonder how well the group would've fared if Shane was the leader and Rick was dead instead.

In a post-apocalyptic world, you just can't trust people.  You can't.  I think Rick made the right choice ignoring that hitchhiker.

Cheep imperial stuff is like crack.

Indeed.

You just can't go wrong paying $15.50 for an AT-ST.

Ugh....

Nothing, zero, zilch.

Went to my local TRU yesterday and found Dr. Evazan, Logray, Aayla, Barriss, Bom Vimdin, Barada, and Maul, scattered along with several TPM figures.  I left with nothing.  However, I did pick up a Cloud Car Pilot for $2.98 at Target.

6" Figures / Re: 6 Inch Figures?
« on: February 14, 2013, 10:11 AM »
Perhaps, but is the license for The Hobbit as lucrative and expensive as the license for Star Wars?  I'm pretty sure we know the answer, and that translates to extra $$$ for items.

Learn to read? That's discussion?

Discussion is one thing, wishful thinking is another.  There is no way Hasbro is going to release their 6" SW figures with a MSRP of $10 because: A)they have already stated that the figures will have a MSRP of $20, B) 6" figures from various other toy lines aren't anywhere near $10, and C) super-articulated SW figures in a smaller scale (3.75") already have an MSRP of $10.   Entertaining the notion of paying 50% less than MSRP is just delusional and stems from someone with an empty/near empty wallet.

Perhaps down the road if they sit around at stores and collect dust, they might get marked down a few bucks, but it will be the exception, not the rule.

Not once did I mention discount chains, clearance prices, etc.  Learn to read.  I said RETAIL price.  Duh.

Considering that 3.75" VC figures go for $10 a pop (retail price), it's absurd to entertain the idea that 6" figures will be sold at $10 retail.  And what are 6" Marvel figures retailing at?  That's like saying, "Hey, a 2013 VW Jetta starts at $16,000, which seems too much for me.  How many people would buy one for $8000?"  Well, duh.

After seeing the TF pics, I'm pretty much all in with the 6" line, starting with Luke, R2 and Sandtrooper.

Star Wars Universe / Re: Star Wars Movie Spin-Offs?
« on: February 6, 2013, 01:17 AM »
Personally, I think it's a terrible idea.  But hey, in the grand scheme of things, individual character spinoff films can't bastardize the original trilogy any worse than the prequels or animated Clone Wars series already did, right?  Leia's Adventures on Alderaan, coming to a theater near you.

What constitutes the "wow factor" 3000 figures into the line? What can they give us that we haven't seen before?

How about an 8D8/EV-9D9 two pack with pull-apart tortured droid and torture mechanism? Or how about some Build-A-Droid sets of 2 or 3 with interchangable parts? Or a 3.75" scaled Krayt Dragon or Dagobah Dragon Snake?  Figures like the Tonnika Sisters, Velken Tezeri, Toryn Farr, or heck at this point, even a figure of Jamie Farr would be very much welcomed...anything but the same old regurgitated crap like another Anakin, another Clone Trooper, another Obi-Wan.  Those are the type of items that would fulfill my personal "wow factor" requirements at this point in time.

I'd also like to see a return of "ultra" or "deluxe" figures packaged with diorama pieces.  Larger accessories such as the Tractor Beam panel thingy from ANH, or the War Room console from ROTJ before the Battle of Endor, or a Funeral Pyre for Vader.  Hasbro just needs to excercise some inspired creativity with the 3.75" line.  It might be asking for too much, but how about some frickin' playsets for the "3000 figures into the line?"
