******* Hasbro.  There is no way I'm buying this.  He's holding the ice cream maker in the wrong hand.  Those elitist righties couldn't handle him being a lefty.  My diorama is ruined.  Ruined!  *******.  Way to ruin a figure, Hasbro.   ;)

I can answer without even reading the article: get over it.  Why waste the energy?

Just sayin'.  All I hear is bitching about one of the simplest music players on the planet.  All your problems with the iPod are because it didn't come with much instruction.  Which you seem to have not bothered reading.  Little details such as minimum system requirements.  But no, it's the iPod's fault.  It's a POS as you say.  Sure.  But you're running an out of date, four year old version of iTunes and wondering why it takes hours to install a major software update over dial up.

Take the iPod back and continue to live in 2004.  You'll be much happier.

Do yourself a favor and return the iPod like you said you would two days ago.  You're too stupid and bitchy to own one.

LEGO / Re: 2006 Jabba's Sail Barge

Are there online places (other than eBay and Amazon) that might have a set for under $120?

I'm no hardcore LEGO collector, but I've heard once a set is discontinued - you're pretty much out of luck for paying a fair price so you're going to have to deal in that nasty secondary market.  Prices on older LEGO sets only rise in value, too bad such is not true with 99% of modern Hasbro toys.  Great build though and plenty of figs - just like the SD.   :)

True.  I thought the SD was great because of the figures, but my six year old said it looked boring.  Not sure if it's the color, or that it doesn't have the extras (skiff + Sarlacc Pit) and different rooms that the Sail Barge does.  I think part of it is that he's a big fan of the LEGO SW video game, and the Sail Barge is in that where the SD is not.  When I heard Target was having the BF deal on the SD, I tried to get him interested.  No luck.

My Target had an entire aisle of Star Destroyers stacked to the ceiling on a top shelf this week.  With that much stock, I bet it is one of their Black Friday sales...

I'm late to the LEGO party here.  My 6 year old son has been asking for the Sail Barge for Christmas the last two years.  We looked at eBay last year but the prices on older sets was out of our range.  The eBay prices are still crazy high, but he's asking for the set again this year.

Are there online places (other than eBay and Amazon) that might have a set for under $120?

I don't smoke, but cigar talk in the politics forum is so 1998.

If you haven't seen Interpol yet I would suggest that one. They are amazing live.

I'm seeing them next week with the Shout Out Louds.  I picked up the Shout Out Louds tickets and they had to change the Venue, so Interpol invited them to open for them.

I'm psyched.

That is an incredible costume! :o

Yes, very nice costume...however, since when does "Vader" carry around 2 lightsabers (one lit, one on his belt)?   ???

The helmet haas poor visibility and Vader is always misplacing his lightsaber, his keys, and his drinking glass.  He's started carrying a spare everything, because he often cannot find things even when they're clipped to his utility belt.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Beedo Sookcool's 10th Anniversary Giveaway!
« on: September 8, 2007, 04:18 PM »
Greetings, gang!  I spammed this obnoxious solicitation to all the Star Wars news sites I could molest over a week ago (including this one), and so far, only one was desperate enough to post it in its news section.  I fear that all the others had it shunted into their Spam Bins.  So now I'm slathering about this in the forums to which I belong.  All two of them.  If anyone would like to spread the news of this contest to shut ins and mental institutions, to other uninterested parties who could give a **** less, please be my guest.  Anywho, here's the official bum wad:

Yawn!  Snoozer!  My site has a stupid name!  Beedo Sookcool’s Cool Sci-Fi Page is celebrating its tenth birthday of geocities mediocrity this September!  To mark this lame ass anniversary, Beedo himself writes in the third person and is giving away his toys!  For full details on rules and prizes, click on over to Beedo Sookcool’s unCool Sci-Fi Wank Fest Page!

You're right, people never help each other in other countries.

 ::)

I think Matt Fury was simply trying to say that his fellow Americans made him proud with their bravery and heroism in the face of such a disaster.  That's not to imply people in other countries wouldn't respond in the same way if faced with an identical situation.

He's fortunate to have you to interpret for him then because that isn't what he wrote.

Exactly.  Especially since some people like Michael Moore like to poo-poo Americans for not looking out for each other and having an "every man for himself" mentality - events such as this one and 9/11 proved that to be far from reality.

Wow, dragging Michael Moore and 9/11 into a thread about bridge collapse?  Why don't you throw some general vague references to the deceased Saddam Hussein for good measure?

I'm not "poo-pooing" Americans looking out for each other, just observing that it isn't a uniquely American characteristic worth tying to ones patriotism through jingoistic rah rah speak about ordinary people helping ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.

And despite Chewie's naivety, they're not pulling anyone else alive out of that mess.  It's been called recovery (not rescue) since the morning after it happened.

I'm also just so proud to be an American seeing how everyone there came out to help everyone.
