The Legacy Collection / Re: The Return of Saga Legends
« on: January 16, 2009, 09:55 PM »
I was in two Targets this morning, one right as it opened, the other within 20 minutes of it opening and they had clearly both received the "new" Legends this morning as they had none yesterday. No sign of the Snowtrooper though. Has anyone heard anything about anyone actually finding the Snowtrooper? Could it not be in the newest case even though its pictured and numbered in the middle of all the stuff that is in stores now.

It because some stores are getting this case revision that doesn't include the snowtrooper. The other three assortments (HS87995C, HS87995C1, HS87995C3) do.

Of these 4 cases the Tri-Droid looks to be the one that short packed. Only shipping in the HS87995C case.

I can confirm that something is up with these case assortments. At 2 different Target stores today I spotted the case with the Tri-droid (HS87995C case) but no Snowtrooper. They had 1 extra of the AOTC clones instead. Both of these stores had no Legends figures the day before but had a total of 12 (normal case pack total) today.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Recent Legacy Purchases

Has anyone who bought the Training on the Falcon battle pack noticed any minor paint changes to any of the figures compared to their original releases or do we have four straight repacks? Thanks.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Saga Legends

Definitely concerned on pegwarming...

I think some of them make sense, I know I'll be buying a lot of them as there's some unique and sorta new figures in there...  But yeah I'm very concerned about how some of these will warm pegs and screw distribution of the nice new stuff we all want in droves.

Can anyone please run down which figures in the first wave of Saga Legends are different in any way from their original releases (wave 2 if possible also)? I know that the Battle droid 2-pack and episode 3 clone trooper are different but what about the others? Since they are starting to hit this might be useful. Thanks.

Can someone tell me if the SG robes included with the jedi in this pack are the same ones used on the '06 saga basic figures (anakin, obi-wan) which i believe were also used on the figures in the episode 1 and 3 30th anniv. collector tins? Thanks.

someone on another forum stated that 5 of the figs in this set had slightly different paint aps. anybody else notice any differences on the bounty hunt set paint aps compared to the older release versions? just trying to get some feedback so i can decide whether to pick this up or not at suncoast.

Actually I don't like that picture.

By placing the RC droid in the middle and then angling the two regular R2's the perspective is altered.  Very similar to tricks used in the advertising industry to make other things appear larger relative to their competitors product.  I'm not suggesting RS tried to do that, I don't think they did.  But the unintentional placement changes the perspective.  Even the leg positioning is not consistent.  Look at the droid on the left in the picture, the angle of the legs is off from that of the RC droid giving a totally inaccurate height comparison.

yes, very good observation. hmmm..... now you are making me possibly re-think this a bit. dang you all to heck.  ;D

It it wasn't for the fact that these are slightly (and it is slightly) out of scale, I'd be all over them.

i actually think scale - wise these are larger enough than the regular line for me to easily pass. i'm a 33/4" loose completest collector so i am actually thankful when i don't have to spend more money. this link shows a good comparison of the two different scales.

EDIT: the link will not paste correctly. the middle droid is obviously the TOMY RC and not the OTC version.

Episode 1 / darth maul jedi dual face paint variation ?
« on: February 1, 2006, 05:33 PM »
i just noticed in the 'scum photo archive the maul jedi duel had a significant face paint variation. i have the first release with the pinkish colored chin and incorrect face paint. my question is, how far along in the run was it before the corrcted 2nd release made it to stores? were these part of the solid cases of maul that shipped later that summer or was it corrected before then? is this 2nd version as easily available as the first? it is hard to make out on the current ebay auctions which ones have the 2nd paint version. i would like to add one to my collection.if anyone has an extra of the 2nd version they would like to get rid of for a few bucks (loose-complete is ok)please PM me. here is the link showing the differences.

ok, here is my problem. i'm a 3 3/4" loose completist collector. who here would count these as part of the normal line? i'm begining to lean towards the idea that they are because they do have removable helmets and some articulation. i do like the the looks of them but the price tag is a little much. i almost wish they were just statues so i wouldn't have to make a decision.   :P

I found both Chewie versions.  Am I to assume the small link is the first version, and ultimately be the Harder to find version?

What's everyone else finding on this?

The small link version came after the the large link one according to datestamps but then again the bly with yellow armpits was first then on the next datestamp they had white armpits and then on the next datestamp they switched back to yellow from then on.

i actually found the small link version once way back when this wave was first released. since then, i have come across about 20 different chewies from various stores and all have been the large link version. i was under the impression the small link was much more rare.

i don't mean to rile up the masses but someone over at POTF2.COM who always has inside info is stating that these chase figures are repainted silver figures. here is a link to the forum topic. this is a great site for variant freaks and always has good reliable info.

i have a couple questions about the chewbacca fig. is anybody spotting the small chain link (the top end of the chain) version anymore? i only saw it once, the first time i spotted this wave. all the ones i have seen after that have been the large chain link version, and i have come across about twenty of those. i also read a post on rebelscum that someone opened the small chain version and said that the large chain link loop was stuffed up under the molded neck fur area of the figure. any truth to this for anybody who has opened up one of these?

so is it confirmed that vader is a 100% straight re-pack? no subtle paint app differences or anything else? from some of the previous posts this seems to be the case. what abot the reeken and R-2 figures. any paint app differences on either of those? how about the accesories that come with R-2. are they any different paint-wise than when they were packed in with the luke x-wing vehicle a couple years ago? just wondering because all my older stuff is packed away right mow. thanks.

what about the new saga chewie figure? does anyone know what the correct version of the chain is on this figure? is it the one with the large loop at the top of the chain or the smalll loop at the top that is the same size as all the other chain link loops? i ask because i want to have the corrected one whichever that may be. i know i saw the small version first and all i'm seeing now is the large version.
