Modern Classifieds / FS: Disney Cantina Band figures (opneners) - SOLD
« on: December 16, 2007, 03:31 AM »
Anyone interested in a non-mint (opener) set of all five of the Disney Weekends exclusive Cantina figures?  They'd be $16 each ($80 total)...  EDIT:  SOLD!

Here's what they look like (courtesy of Yakface):

These are the same figures as in the WM Tin set last year, but they've got exclusive bases that interlock, and play the Cantina music, as seen here (thanks Jayson):

Again, mine are all carded still, but they're not close to mint, and would serve better as openers.  I'm open to other offers too, so drop me a line if you're at all interested in these.  Thanks!

I see that Chris has finally signed up here at JD, so I guess I'll get him started with some feedback here since he was generous enough to help me out with a few HTF exclusives at C4 earlier this year.  Great guy, and a trustworthy trader to be sure, so don't hesitate to deal with him!  Thanks for the help Chris, and good luck with your sale...

Here's his sterling feedback at GH and RS as well, for anyone interested.

Watto's Junk Yard / Seen this? WOW.
« on: September 22, 2007, 04:40 AM »
I didn't know where to stick this, so I guess I'll give it it's own thread.  My wife showed me this "Britain's Got Talent" clip on YouTube last night and I thought it was actually fake at first, but then was...well, you'll have to watch it for yourself, if you're not one of the 25 million+ folks who hasn't seen it already:

Paul Potts on "Britain's Got Talent"

I doubt Simon Cowell's ever looked so stunned before.  Never judge a book by it's cover, eh...?   :o

P.S.  I think I'm officially in love with Amanda now too.

We're already off and rolling with the C4 photo coverage, and Ryan's got some early sneak peak shots into the Convention Center setup process around the floor, and outside.  You can check it all out right here!

« on: September 4, 2006, 04:30 AM »
Glad to get some feedback started for Anonymous01 here finally!  Jobe helped me out with a very reasonably priced Code 3 Vader's Tie Fighter when we got together this weekend.  Great guy to deal with, no doubt.  Honest and trustworthy all the way, and highly recommended!

In fact, check out his new e-tail site (still under construction), and maybe he can help you out with some sweet swag too!  8)

Thanks Jobe.  'Til next time, buddy...

Watto's Junk Yard / "Back to School" still gives me the creeps!
« on: August 12, 2006, 03:13 AM »
Whenever this time of year rolls around and all the "Back to School" sales, ads, mentions, etc. start popping up everywhere, I still get the willies.  There's no worse phrase in the English language than those three words, I think.  Always makes me think back to the depression all of my friends and I would go through when we started realizing our summer vacations were over, and it was time to get back to our boring books and tedious studying (elementary school all the way up through college).  School obviously doesn't really affect my life at all anymore, but that phrase just makes my skin crawl still.  I suppose it's kinda like that ex-girl (or boy) friend that you had a real nasty split with, and the bitter taste never really goes away entirely after all those years.

I know that phrase actually still applies to some of our members here as well, so how do you guys feel when you start seeing that crap popping up in August (or even late July) each year?  Bummed, or excited to hit the books again?  Or maybe just excited to get back to the socializing aspect that comes with being back in school?  That was really the only redeeming quality for that phrase for me back in the day...

Any other old-timers still get the creeps from hearing "Back to School", or is this something I should just seek professional counseling on...?  :P

I'm looking to unload an extra wave of the Walmart exclusive figures that I recently "cheated" with and bought off a friend, before finally finding a plethora of them on the pegs last week.  Unfortunately, I'm not willing to split the wave up and sell any of them individually - sorry.  They're all MOMC, and will cost $35.88 for all five, plus shipping:

Aurra Sing
Mace's (purple) Astromech
Nabrun Leids & Kabe
Kitik Keed'kak
Labria

I've also got a fair amount of other extras from the last few waves (no Appo), and would be happy to toss any of those into the mix as well ($7.18 each).  So drop me a line if you're in need.  Below is my prior For Sale list with some other older items, all of which are still available too...

FS: Loose/complete POTF2 figures, Kubricks, C3 Vaders!

I'm unloading a few of my extra loose figures from way back in the POTF2 days.  All are mint, and complete with all original accessories.  I'm asking $2.75 each, but it's negotiable if you're interested in more than just a few.  Great way to complete your POTF2 loose collections, if you got a late start on the hobby!  Good for custom fodder as well...  I've also got some others not listed here, so if there's anything else you're in particular need of, just LMK and I'll see if I've got it.  I'll probably be adding more figures into the mix here later, so check back in from time to time.  So here's a list of what I've got so far (more coming soon), in order of release:

Luke Skywalker (Tatooine)
Han Solo
Darth Vader
R2-D2
C-3PO
Boba Fett
Lando Calrissian
X-Wing (Snowspeeder) Pilot Luke
Greedo
Hammerhead
R5-D4
Tusken Raider
Leia in Boushh disguise
Emperor Palpatine
Endor Han Solo
4-LOM
Admiral Ackbar
Garindan
Ponda Baba
Grand Moff Tarkin
Rebel Fleet Trooper
Malakili (Rancor Keeper)
Saelt-Marae (Yakface)

I've also got a few Kubricks still floating around as well (still sealed in bag), which I'd sell for $7.50 each, including:
TIE Pilot
Luke X-Wing Pilot
Jedi Luke

Lastly, I've got two C3 Vaders for $15 each.

So shoot me a PM here (or e-mail me at jedimc@aol.com) if you're interested in anything...  Thanks!

Feedback / mousedroid's feedback
« on: July 23, 2006, 06:07 AM »
Mousedroid graciously offered to help me out with a couple tough SDCC exclusives, to aleviate some potential stress and time constraints for me by not having to waiting in line for 2 hours down there.  Much obliged, Roger!  Thanks for the very helpful assist on that.

Roger bought some SW Lottery tickets off me last year at SDCC as well, so double (and belated) thumbs up here.  Very trustworthy guy, so trade with him if you get the chance!

30th Anniversary Collection / 2007 Rumors and Speculation
« on: June 24, 2006, 06:37 AM »
Dave just posted a whole ****load of delicious tidbits over at RS.  Check it out for the complete list, but here's some of the highlights on it for me:

M'Ylloom (Cantina Alien) Not entirely sure which one this is...  The snouted dude?  Any guesses?
Elis Helrot (Cantina Alien)
Biggs Darklighter in Academy Outfit
Jawa/Droid 2-Pack (depending on which droid)
McQuarrie Chewbacca
McQuarrie Stormtrooper (re-release?)
EU Boba Fett (Johnston Design)
Hermie Odle
Umpass-Stay w/Gong
Holiday Special Boba Fett
AOTC Padmé
EU Yuuzhan Vong
Quinlan Vos vs. Vilmarh Grahrk 2-pack

VTSC:
Jawas (maybe 1 cloth caped & 1 plastic caped?)
Bespin Luke
Snowtrooper
Bespin Han
Bossk
Endor Leia

 8)

But where's the McQuarrie Vader and Droids?!  Those three would've been the best/most popular choices remaining from McQuarrie's sketches, I think (since they already made the Stormie).  I bet MisterPL must be a little happier today though, eh?  ;)

So I'm really starting to think that Hasbro's seriously planning on re-doing the entire Vintage line in their new VOTC/VTSC/V___ line.  We're already up to 23 now, out of what, 96?

I'm running a little late here in getting this up and running, so we're gonna have to move quick on it folks...  That said, it's time for the 3rd annual JediDefender Secret Santa gift exchange!  Sign-ups will be ending at noon on Dec. 7...

We've had a lot of fun with the prior two (thanks to Wayne/Reconsgt for the original idea), and exchanged a lot of cool SW (and non-SW) goodies, so if you're interested in partaking in the festivities this year, then go ahead and give us a holler here, and we'll sign you up!

This is pretty much just like most Secret Santa games you've probably been involved with in the past.  We're gonna have a sign up list, and then I'll draw names out of a hat, at which point everyone will be assigned another JD member to send a gift to.  It usually helps if everyone gets their trade list wants up to speed and bumped in the trading forum, so your Secret Santa knows what may be of interest to you.  No real dollar limit perse.  Anything from $5 to $50 is just fine - whatever you feel comfortable with.  We probably averaged about $20 - $25 a gift in the first two gift exchanges, if that helps give you a ballpark amount to roll with.  I'll go ahead and take down everyone's addresses too, and will PM them to whoever gets assigned that respective person.

I should add that if you feel particularly inclined to send a gift to a specific person (perhaps you have something that you know that they really want), feel free to let me know and maybe I can "fix" a name or two...  ;)

Feel free to browse folks' trade/want lists here, or have another member do a little "third party investigating" on your behalf, or just find some fun stuff all on your own.  So with that said, let's get the sign ups going here, and have some fun!  We'll probably run the sign-up for about a week.  I think that's everything for now, but feel free to give us a shout if you've got any questions about the gift exchange.  So without further ado...

Feedback / CrunchyNug's feedback
« on: November 16, 2005, 04:45 AM »
Looks like I'm the lucky winner of authoring CrunchyNug's feedback thread here...  Got together with him tonight and swapped some of my old Saga figures for some of his new ROTS ones, and it was a most enjoyable trading experience!  Jeff's a good guy, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any JD'ers here for their trading needs.  8)

Thanks Jeff.  Let's do it again some time...

Just polished off my first transaction with JD newcomer, robmob, and it couldn't have gone any smoother.  Great communication, fast shipping, mint product.  Perfect!  Thanks a lot Robert.  Hopefully we can do it again sometime...
