Modern Classifieds / Kubrick Saesee Tiin chase for Sale
« on: November 23, 2010, 09:24 AM »
Having a hard time selling my Saesee Tiin chase on eBay.  Hoping someone here on JD is interested in one.    It is  "incomplete" in that it doesn't come with the original lightsaber (that's how I acquired him.)  I will include an extra Luke light saber so that at least you'll have a green one for display.

Series 8 - Saesee Tiin - $80 shipped in the US or Canada

Couldn't find a separate Cable TV vs Satellite TV vs Internet TV thread to put this in so I figured I'd start a new one...

I'm a long time DirecTV subscriber (love the Sunday Ticket even if it is waaaay over priced these days, but I digress).  DirecTV just released their "Whole Home" technology upgrade that lets you watch DVR recorded programs on any TV in your house.  I know this is nothing new for U-Verse and the like; however, as I'm shackled to DirecTV (see above) this was a huge addition for me.  We just had this service hooked up and since we already had multiple DVRs in the house, we can now watch a recorded program anywhere on our three Televisions.  Ah, the joy of life, now my kids won't be fighting over the TV (Video Games vs the recorded Disney Channel shows) and my wife and I have the flexibility to change the locations where we watch our shows.  The biggest plus is now we can finally manage all those stinkin' shows at the same time and not be shackled to a single room!  TV plays a much too important place in my life, but thanks to the DirecTV Whole Room upgrade, my life just got a little easier to manage.

Watto's Junk Yard / Flooded Basement Thread
« on: April 5, 2009, 08:39 PM »
Yep.   It happened to me this weekend.  Sump pump system failure leads to complete drenching in the carpet of our finished basement.  Its a long saga with this particular pump... about a year ago we decided that we should take a preventative change and replace our sump pump and back-up pumps.  They were the original model in our house (going on 14 years) and we get a ton of drainage on our corner lot.  We used a local plumbing company to put in the new pump and we started have problems right away.  The pump worked great, but the float switch was a very poor desgin for our particular sump pit and it kept getting blocked up and it would either fail to go on (starting up the backup) or lock in the on position (so the pump ran continuously).  After a month of back and forth with this clogging they finally installed a new float with a mesh screen that prevented the clogging.  The downside was that the battery back-up had been used a lot and so we had to get it inspected and the battery had to be cleaned up a bit (corrosion around the leads).  That took us through the end of last summer.

Fast forward to this week.  I got home from being out of town for 5 days and noticed that my sump pump was running continuously again (Wednesday Night).  Because of the mesh screen and the way it was installed, there was no way to for me to "unclog" it.  So I called the plumber the next morning (Thursday) to fix it.  He cleaned the screen and it worked great.  The plumber said if it clogged again to call them and they'd replace it.I left for the rest of the day and got home late that night and again noticed that the pump was running continuously.  The problem was I was leaving town again on Friday before the plumbers would get there and no one would be home until my wife got back in town on Saturday night.  I found a neighbor that could let the plumber in and replace the float so that it wouldn't be running continuously.  So Friday afternoon, the float was replaced and all is well again.  Fast forward to Saturday night at 9:30pm when I get a frantic call from my wife that the basement is full of water.  The pump(s) had failed somehow.  She had water above her foot in a radius around 10ft from the sump pit.  All the carpet was soaking wet and would squish up water when you walked on it.  When she got to the pump she gave it a shake and it immediately started draining - the freakin' plunger had stuck in the "off" position!  Why didn't the battery back-up kick on?  Because the plumber had disconnected it and never told anyone.  Apparently, he told the neighbor that we'd "probably need a new back-up" and he'd leave us a message on our machine.  He didn't tell anyone that it wasn't working and it wasn't hooked up.  He also never left a message to this fact.  So basically, he left our house unprotected with a back-up pump.

So, here we are today.  All the standing water is long gone but the carpets are soaked.  We've got a crew drying it out and then we'll assess the damage from there.  I don't think I lost anything completely irreplaceable.  Luckily, in our unfinished space, we have a series of plastic storage racks that keep everything off the ground about 4".  So there were just a few boxes that got damaged.  One of them has some of my Star Wars toys in them, so we'll see what's left of those when I get back there.  I've gotten out of worrying about carded figures a while ago so I don't think I've lost anything super "valuable".

So anyone else have basement flooding nightmares?  I didn't find a thread on this when I searched so I just started one.  If I missed that it existed, I'm sure an admin can link it up.

Modern Classifieds / Dioramas and Customs for Sale
« on: October 10, 2008, 08:10 PM »
As I posted over in my Diorama threads.  I'm getting out of the diorama business for now.  I haven't done any real SW work in over a year and this stuff is just collecting dust in my basement.

I actually haven't checked the physical condition closely so some of this may need some touchups.  I'll provide accurate photos of the current pieces if people are interested.

I know its against the rules to not post prices but I don't have any way to judge the value of my own work.  If you are interested, let me know and I'll get some current photos and we can talk about.

My plans are to sell all of these in some fashion.

First up the Buildings from the UGP:  --- $5 each or all all six for $25 (plus shipping of your choice)

Group Shot - the streets of Judde Lulos

BRENTS - market stall -- I'm asking $5 for this (plus shipping of your choice)

Gardulla's Palace: --- I'm asking $40 for this plus shipping.

My Jedi Council Chamber  (PENDING)

Okay, I've added some Customs to the mix as well.  These aren't the best pictures but if you've seen my photonovels, diorama, or customs thread, you've seen most of these in better photos.

I've decided to put a flat fee of $10 on all my customs (including shipping in a padded envelope).  If you are interested, tell me the number and help me out with a brief description of them.

I've also put a bunch of "Custom Fodder Grab Bags" together.  These are full of weapons, robes, and other greebles/accessories.  I'm selling these for $6 each (including shipping) or 2 for $10.    I've got a dozen or so of those ready to go.  No special requests in these but I'm sure all of you will find some goodies.

Modern Classifieds / Custom Fodder and Loose Figures
« on: January 30, 2008, 09:59 AM »
I hope the Mods don't mind but I split up my classifieds for complete/carded figs and loose/custom fodder figs.  This thread is very image heavy and I wanted to try and manage the threads separately.

Here's my first dip into my custom fodder bins.  All figures are supplied as is.  Most will not have any accessories, stands, pack-ins, etc.

Rules:
1) If you are interested in anything, please indicate by image number and figure number (it will help me keep my sanity)
2) Paypal only
3) Shipping will be via USPS First Class (Padded envelope unless there are a lot of figures) and is not included in the price of the figures
4) I'm asking for a minimum 5 figure order on these to minimize the one-off trips to the post office.

To keep the accounting simple, I'm asking for $3 each for these figures.  Some of these are real bargain and some probably not as much so.  However, its just easier for me that way.

IMAGE 2:

#5 is pending

IMAGE 3:

#2, #3, #7, #9

IMAGE 5:

#22 is pending

I'm also selling three groups of custom fodder.  Custom fodder parts are just that - parts.  They've been cut, pulled, and poked.  Some might be missing neck, arm, and hand posts.  Some might even have stray paint on them.

GROUP 1:  Bodies
I'm asking $50 (shipped) for this lot:

There's gotta over 100 pieces in this collection (there is more than is pictures but not a lot more).  None of the figures are complete and they are mostly just bodies.  However, there is still a bunch of stuff that would be useful.

GROUP 2:  Heads and Hands
I'm asking $20 (shipped) for this lot:

GROUP 3:  Arms and Legs
I'm asking $10 (shipped) for this lot:

$75 (shipped) buys all three fodder lots.

I've been changing my collecting habits over the last few months and I'm moving out a surplus of figures that I have acquired.  I'm going to use Chewie's method and try to minimize the number of trips to the post-office.  I've taken some of his rules and modified them :)  :

1) I need paypal for payment.

2) Buyer pays all shipping costs.

3) Unless its a single item you are dying to get your hands on (which I doubt), I am asking for a minimum order of $20.00 per buyer. The reason is I have very little time to go through this stuff and make a lot of trips to the post office... whatever doesn't sell will end up on eBay in some form or another in the next few weeks (or whenever the next listing sale happens).

Kubricks / Series 10
« on: January 23, 2008, 03:38 PM »
So now that Series 9 is officially announced, let the speculation for Series 10 begin.

I am Sith and I have been discussing this at work.

Here's my best guess (based on his input too):

Anakin Skywalker
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Clone Trooper
Captain Tarrful
General Greivous
Padme Skywalker

Possible chases include, Sith Eyes Anakin, Mace Windu, Commander Cody, Galactic Marine

30th Anniversary Collection / Identify a figure..... R2-D2
« on: October 29, 2007, 10:10 AM »
This is probably the wrong forum for this... however, it gets the most traffic so here it goes.

While going through my collection, I stumbled on an R2-D2 that has a shiny dome and has a removable front panel with little tools that can attached (circle saw, etc).  I thought this was the EBK one but I don't think those had an accessories or removable panels.  Can somehow help me?
