Star Wars Action Figures / commander apoc's customs
« on: February 18, 2007, 11:49 AM »
So here I'm with my first ideas of customizing my own stuff.... I just want to make a little part of my collection of standart clones my own.

So to begin, I just had a model of republic commando pose only for weapons, just to get a feel out of it. The weapons are originaly GI-JOE weapons from the 80ties...

So here's my idea of a submachinegunner:

assault commando:

Grenadier commando:

Sniper:

Other Collectibles / Revell Star Wars Vehicle Models
« on: January 18, 2007, 03:20 PM »
For the fans of the German modelmaker Revell, there are 4 new Star Wars Vehicles to release in 2007:

Modelnumber 6659 - Slave 1

Modelnumber 6660 - Y-Wing Attack Fighter

Modelnumber 6661 - Snowspeeder

Modelnumber 6662 - AT-AT

The snowspeeder and the Y-wing are probely 1:32, Slave 1 probely 1:48 or 1:72 and the AT-AT maybe even 1:144.

All kits are Easykits, like all of the Star Wars line, except for the Republic Starship.
Personely I think that the new AT-AT is not a easykit because of the big size.

These where the models from 2006:

modelnumber 4860 - Republic Star Destroyer

modelnumber 6650 - Anakin's Jedistarfighter

modelnumber 6651 - Obi-wan's Jedistarfighter

modelnumber 6652 - Droid Starfighter

modelnumber 6653 - Arc 170 Clone Fighter

modelnumber 6654 - AT-RT

modelnumber 6655 - Darth Vader Tie Fighter

modelnumber 6656 - Luke Skywalker's X-wing Fighter

modelnumber 6657 - Imperial Shuttle

modelnumber 6658 - Millenium Falcon

Newbies / Another newbie from The Netherlands
« on: October 15, 2006, 06:10 AM »
hi everyone,

Im not complety new at this forum, I just never had time to properly introduce myself.

I'm a 28 year old male collector of clonetroopers/commanders/vehicles and stuff. I'm living in the far west of the Netherland, a region called the westland. For 4 years I'm working for a big company that gives suplies to greenhouses, where I work in the technical division as a mechanical engineer.

My other hobbies are playing electic Bass in a Rockcover band, playing pc-games (my fiancee doen't like that much) and making our 4 birds tame. Recently we have 9 eggs to look forward too.

For the last 4 months I had I great time at JD, and for in the future many years to come I positively hope.

My collection is already online for the viewing. Click here

Collections / Commander Apoc's collection
« on: July 3, 2006, 05:34 PM »
Hey, this is my beginning collection:

On the Top a big blue Clone trooper, in the middle a model of a Arc-170 Fighter by Revell

My clone collection                                                                       Red and Blue troopers, pilot's and commando's

Some clone troopers                                                                    Commanders and super articulated troopers

My "I just got it with it" collection, Grievous with bodyguard, Jango/Boba Fett, some ARC clones.

Jedifighters from Revell (Obi-wan's and Anikan's), some figures at the back still in pack and some starcraft-toys

Die-cast Naboo-starfighter, Obi-wan's AOTC Starfighter and a Revell model of the Tri-fighter.

Some of the rest is still coming in a couple of weeks, in particaly some droids and some unleased figures.
I do not have a lot of room to store much of the toys, but I'm working on a roomchange that can hold much, much more than this....

Also, my suplier is a good guy whom can get a lot stuff directly from japan....

Toy Reviews / Republic Gunship clone wars Deco
« on: July 3, 2006, 05:11 PM »
A review of the AOTC Republic Gunship clone wars Deco.

With the upcoming battlepack "the hunt for grievous" there's a new toy vehicle :

The Republic gunship clone wars Deco.

The blue tiger print and the sharknose are similar too the american WWII-fighter such as the P-51 Mustang and the F6 Hellcat.... I think they used it to scare the enemy, ehm.... droids that is. In the hunt for Grievous the ARC trooper had to have a quick, powerfull and agressive ship to get the job done, so they lost the Sideturrets, added extra rockets and painted it scary, and the moral of the troopers went up.

The options on this model:

- It has 2 rotating front guns that can be used as missiles... just push the middle of the ball and fire away. :P
- It has 2 massdriver missile launchers, at the rop of the launchers are 2 buttons... launches 0,5 meters. :P
- It has 2 doors that open like a pneumatic door, very slow and quite nice. The button is a big knob on top. :P
- Every door has 2 extra missiles that cannot be fired but can be removed, normal gunship don't have them. ;D
- Every wing has a ball-turret that can be rotated, but not be horizontaly moved. :-\
- Every wing has 4 AA-missiles, they can be removed, not fired. :-\
- It has a cargohold/deckplate that can be removed. The button is on the rear/below. :)
- It has a Tailgun that can be moved, not much, but it can be moved.... :-\
- It has a pilot and a frontgunner seat, but I don't know if the ROTS- pilot figures fit, i haven't tryed yet. :o
- It has a open entry that leads to the pilot-holl and cargobay, only the pilot-holl is not open. :-[
- You can store a Speederbike at the rearplate, but I don't have one, so I won't know if it will ever fit. :-[
- 2 grappeling hooks are mounted on the back/below the tailgun, you can hang figures on these. :o
- It comes with a small story that bonds with the Cartoon Network Starwars Clone Wars series.

Canopy with pilot/gunner seats                                                   Backside with tailgun and grappeling hook strings

Frontview doors closed                                                                 Frontview doors open

Upperwing with a Ball-Turret                                                        Underwing Ball-Turret with AA-missiles

Massdriver missilelaunchers with the gray button for the doors.  Door with 2 extra missiles, fire only when open!!!

The 2 massdriver missiles on display                                            The 2 grappeling hooks on display

Deckplate loose from the ship                                                      Deckplate occupide by 2 commanders and clone

One of the negative sides of this model, is that it doesn't have 2 side turrets. I hope that they will make a battlepack/weaponspack with at least one of the turrets (2 are better of course) and a speederbike than can fit in the back. They might think of placing a newer handheld weapon or 2 (or 3/4/5/6....) so that you can make you're troopers a little more agressive when they land the ship. "the hunt for grievous" battlepack has some of these weapons, so they make the gunship look a much more cooler than normal ;).

The positive side of this great ship is that it is big, really big and very good articulated. And also that's one the down sides, it doesn't fit in my display cabin >:(. If I put it on top of the cabin my birds will play with it and than I can throw it away, because it will be destroyed. Birds and Starwarstoys don't mix hey..... ;)
If you buy this toy, keep in mind that it is not made for a mid-sized glass-cabin, but more made like a toy for childeren than a collectors item. I simpely had to have one, because the titanium gunship was too small for me, and I had to order one before the price went up. The price was 77 Euro's( About 50 Dollars).

The price/quality ratio is quite good, i give it a 4 out of 5, the paint-job and the options are 5 out of 5 and the model overall is  4 out of 5.

Also, if I get the battlepack "the hunt for grievous" next week, I will be able too have sort of complete ship.  ;D
I think I will store it in another room upstares, with all of my vintage stuff and so. :D

Toy Reviews / KOTOBUKIYA Clone Trooper EPIII version
« on: June 18, 2006, 07:52 AM »
Hey Yesterday I bought the clone trooper ep3 version of the KOTOBUKIYA line.

The 1:7 clone is a great model to have, it's big and full of articulation   ::)

The model I have has some disapointments.... the gun seems to be bend upwards and is slightly off too the right  :(

Also the model does not seems to fit on the base, even with a lot of pressure applited >:(

The base is the model with many points off articulation en nicely weathered.

The blaster and the rifle are pretty good painted and have lots of articulation

The Clone is the best of all you can get.... for me rated 9/10 overall

I can recommend this model for anyone who wants it, but beware it can be very pricey....
I bought mine at a sale on the a ACME-moviestore,
It was 72,5 Euro's, down too 55 Euro's..... with a Coupon............. 30 Euro's, that's a deal  8)
