Fan Art / Teekay-421 Magazine Cover
« on: October 7, 2012, 01:29 PM »
Earlier this year, I had the incredible opportunity to create a back cover, a Neimoidian back cover, for the 60th issue of Teekay-421's magazine. I spent about 150+ hours of work on it and all of its components. I made each group of Neimoidians separately, then combined them into the final image with the background and name tags for each. About 98% of the project was made in SAI Paint Tool; only the border of the background was Photoshopped.

Please enjoy! I will likely be posting some of my other artwork in the future!

Collections / Kweh-chan's Neimoidian/Duros collection
« on: October 7, 2012, 01:23 PM »
You're probably wondering just how extensive a NEIMOIDIAN collection can be...

I started this sub-collection about three years ago, and have been building on it ever since. I imagine it's the largest of its kind, and I'm still not done. My most recent pieces arrived only yesterday.

(anyone from Imperial Shipyards will probably be familiar with this)

The acetate screen in the background is a prop from the senate scene. What I have yet to picture are the 50 or so Neimoidians/Duros card I have.

The black and white Lott Dod picture is an original, one-of-a-kind Joe Corroney sketch, and one of my favourite collection pieces. The other four cards are Portratz and Hai sketch cards.

The Lott Dod in the front of the picture is a painted prototype test-shot figure. It's about 10x more detailed and accurate than the mass-produced one. I have every Neimoidian/Duros figure ever released, as well as some prototypes and some Kweh-made customs.

Due to circumstances, which I won't bore you with, part of my collection is at my mother's home in Colorado.

The literary section of my collection, including the magazine cover I made.

My two holo Nute figures (please don't rob me)...

...and their differing undersides.

Don Post Nute mask

Don Post Rune mask

Custom Neimoidian Galactic Heroes that I made.

Custom 12" figures I made a year and a half ago- rather battered after several trips across the Atlantic.

Ten Neimoidians and one Duros. Each mini-plush is about 1ft tall.

My newest Portratz and Hai sketch card.

My newest additions from the Galactic Files line of cards.

"Hug-sized" Neimoidian Plush

He stand about 3ft tall, and totally lives up to his name! I may do a separate post for him, later.

And, my piece de resistance, my life-sized Neimoidian

He's currently a work in progress, but when he's finished, he'll be Lott Dod (my favourite Neimoidian). I have plans to make Nute and Rune as well!

(I promise I'm not insane; I'm just a Star Wars fan who loves her fandom and enjoys sewing!)

Newbies / Hello all!
« on: October 7, 2012, 01:07 PM »
Hello!

I joined Force knows how long ago, but just never bothered to introduce myself, or post anything for that matter. I'm Lizzi from Exeter, UK, I've been a Star Wars since I was four years old, and a collector since 13.

Neimoidians (and Duros) are my biggest loves and my specialties; I've adored them since Episode I came out, when I was eight. They are an endless source of inspiration and interest for me. I have a sub-collection devoted to them, several customs, an ongoing report on their biology and culture, and am currently building a life-sized Neimoidian soft sculpture. I have plans to make at least two more.

I also do a lot of Star Wars art (mostly Neimoidians) and I've had the honour of being published twice, by Teekay-421 and JediNews.co.uk.

Lovely to meet you all; I look forward to seeing you in the forums!
