Feedback / Brian's toys
« on: August 1, 2012, 11:47 PM »
Just thought I'd give a review on brianstoys.com on a transaction that could have been a bad experience.

On 7-25-12 I ordered a C-9 red card POTF (hologram) storm trooper MOC for $18 shipped... I recieved a C-9 red card POTF (non-hologram) storm trooper.

I e-mailed their customer service and a gal named Heather promptly responded, looked into trying to mail me the right figure, and e-mailed me the next day and apologized that it was actually sold out. She gave me a full refund and said I could keep the figure that was mistakenly sent to me.

It sucks the online store wasn't up to date, but I'm impressed with the customer service.

Power of the Force 2 / My no emblem on chest Fett
« on: July 27, 2012, 06:41 PM »
So after much luck I finally have my red card Boba Fett without an emblem on his chest for a steal of a deal and he appears to be the real. Here's the back story.

Here's a ton of Large pics for you to decide. The half a dozen guys at our local JD monthly meeting thought he's real... I think so to. I just wanted to share the story and pics because (to me) half the fun is the hunt.

Power of the Force 2 / POTF2 aquisitions you're proud of
« on: July 18, 2012, 11:54 PM »
It's not often you find a rare figure out there and buy them for a steal of a deal good price. So post up your past or current purchases you're proud of and the price you paid that made it a great deal:)

Today I got this C9 .01 full circles on hands Boba Fett, what makes him special is that he's missing the chest emblem and a lot of the battle damage silver paint:)

I'm proud because I got him for $15 shipped off e-bay:) Some fools on e-bay list this variant for $250+ on e-bay (doubt they get it)... so needless to say I'm happy.

Watto's Junk Yard / Ever been Shilled on e-bay? >:(
« on: July 15, 2012, 11:32 PM »
Shilling: getting bid up to your max proxy bid on e-bay, usually down to the cent during the last seconds of the auction, so the seller makes the most money possible (according to google search results).

Technically you're not getting ripped off, because you were willing to pay that amount.

It is frustrating as a buyer.... to think that sellers can find out your max bid and then bid one cent below that amount... it even happens if I attempt to bid in the last 10 seconds sometimes.

It happend today, won a lot of POTF2 figures for $33.59, the exact amount of my max bid... the auction had no other bids and I entered it 10 seconds before the end... I could have had the lot for .99 cents and $10 shipping... yet some random bidder with 100% positive feedback of (144) shilled me >:(

I still got a good deal IMO... but it's not the insane deal I was expecting... anyone else have that happen here?

Collector's Tips / Cases for carded figures?
« on: June 5, 2012, 03:11 AM »
Hi, I have a small collection of POTF2 figures, will eventually be 30 figures in all:

I'm interested in protecting each figure in their own case like these snap cases:
Or even making them out of acrylic like:

I know to buy acrylic cases like from toygrader.com is out of the question since they are like $10 each and my figures are worth less than $5 each lol. Anyone know where to buy sheets of Acrylic cheap?
OR
Anyone know where to buy a cases like in the 1st pic for cheap?

Will pay Cash for your Star Wars Power of the Force 2 ( POTF2 ) red card (aka: orange card ) figures that are in excellent to mint condition that are NIB (new in box). They are made by Kenner from 1995-1996.

I'll pay $3-$5 depending on condition and $8-$10+ for rare variations (a few on my list are). It's the going rate for all the figures on sites like Amazon and Ebay (I just want to save on shipping costs and avoid buying bad figures). I'll give you honest fair market offers, even on rares and errors. Who knows you might have a $100+ rare:)

I'll consider buying some red carded figures not on my list if I'm out looking at what I do need.

This is to finish my personal collection I started as a kid, not for resale or profit.

I need:
  • Boba Fett (most variations)
  • C-3P0 (wide head variation)
  • Chewy
  • Darth Vader (most variations)
  • Han Solo (no tape on blaster)
  • Han Solo in Carbonite ("in carbonite block")
  • Lando (with tan, gold, or blue inside cape lining)
  • Leia (3 bands on belt)
  • Luke Skywalker (short saber in long tray)
  • Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight (most variations)
  • Luke Skywalker X-wing (most variations)
  • Luke Skywalker Stormtrooper Disguise
  • Momaw Nadon aka: Hammerhead (without warning sticker)
  • Obi Wan Kenobi (most variations)
  • Storm trooper (tape on only one weapon)
  • R5-D4 (warning sticker with square corners)
  • Tusken Raider (open left hand)
  • Any hologram red cards

Examples:

I can drive to meet you anywhere in the cities, especially if you have more than one on my list:)

If unsure about a variation I don't mind checking it out, doesn't hurt to ask:) If I don't pick up, leave a message and I'll call you back. Call, text, or e-mail me anytime.

my growing positive feedback: Here

Please only NIB, no: loose, out of box, purple or green cards, or other star wars collectables:)

Thanks! -Matt

Newbies / Hello from Stillwater MN
« on: June 5, 2012, 01:31 AM »
Hey!

Mike A. answered my CL ad I have up about wanting to buy red card POTF2 figures that are NIB and he told me about this site.

So far I only have a dozen or so to go before I complete my collection that I started as a kid back in 1995.

Thanks!
