Cool, that's about what I was expecting.  I went ahead and signed up for the fan club today... split the price with my buddy who's also going.  Seemed like a very small price to pay for the chance to be as close as possible.

with maiden don't you want to be just far enough out that you can't see that they are wrinkly old dudes?

i was thinking the same thing.

Well, my buddy and I were planning on going to see Motley Crue in August but it is appearing tha we won't.  My buddy caught them in concert the other night on one of his HD channels and said Vince Neil's voice sounds horrible and you couldn't hear him well over the instruments.  I've noticed the same thing when I've caught them on VH1's Classic in Concert.  Some of that could just be the TV mix, but I'm highly doubtful with it being HD.

So, I'm kind of sad that I'll probably not be going, but yet happy that I won't be dropping $100+ on a concert.

things have probably changed since the girls girls girls tour when i saw the crue, but i was actually kinda surprised what a tight band they were.  prior to going, me and my friends had always wondered how a group of guys who could barely sing and play their instruments (except for tommy) could have ever become famous.

Honestly though, I'm surprised that this kind of thing doesn't happen more often, or it at least isn't shown in the media. It seems like it would be really difficult to coordinate hockey, basketball, and indoor lax playoffs along with the other arena uses (concerts, WWE, and that kind of stuff.) I don't think that there is any way that the Nuggets/Lakers game won't be at the Pepsi Center on Monday night. It will be interesting to see what that lawsuit looks like though. :-X

i can't believe the nba didn't check the schedule there and just push it to tuesday.  since its the finals its not like there is alot of other games to schedule around.

my 1st gen nano stopped working the other day.  it will charge and reset and the lock button will make the light go on, but i can't make it play at all.  is it just busted?

i know i should probably just give it up... i already have a new one, but it was nice to just hook up in the car and leave in the glove box.

Quick question as I am a total i-pod newb. I have never owned one but I am ready to take the plunge. As a first time i-pod buyer, is the Touch a good purchase for me? Also, I see that the median price for the 16gb Touch is $295. Should I buy now or is there a price break in the near future? Thanks to anyone who replies. I am pretty lost when it comes to this area.

this question reminds me... my wife just got a 16gb iphone which to me looks alot like the touch, but the refurb only cost $150.  are there any real advantages to getting the touch over the iphone?

Vintage Kenner / Re: New To Vintage Collecting? Some Tips!

Anyways, the first figure I've really been looking at is a Han Solo.  I've specifically been looking at the ROTJ Endor Han.  Anyways, to my question, I know next to nothing about vintage carded collecting and I'm unsure of what to look for as far as fakes, reseals, etc.  Just as an example, here is one I have been watching on ebay:

you picked a pretty good figure to be your favorite.  endor han is one of the cheaper main characters you can get carded.  it is pretty hard to find one without a yellow bubble though.  if that is a problem, be prepared to pay alot more.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Jury duty. Hooray.
« on: April 27, 2009, 05:17 PM »
i got jury duty a few weeks ago.  it got me out of 2 days work, so i guess it was ok.

the case was actually dismissed or rescheduled or something because they couldn't select enough jurors.  this guy had the idea that since his car had been crashed, he not only wanted the repairs done, but some extra money to cover his losses due to depreciation because of the crash.
when asked, almost every jury candidate said the car was worth less because of the crash, so the defense eliminated pretty much everyone.

i thought this was pretty sharp... based on that set of jurors, that guy certainly got some kind of settlement from the insurance company to cover the amount of money lost because people think previously crashed used cars are worth less than never crashed used cars.  i kinda wish it had gone to trial so i could have seen the outcome.

Hell, when I was a kid, we didn't even have seatbelts, much less carseats. We were able to fit our entire family of five kids in a Vega...until we got our '72 VW bus, then I had the "luxury" of being able sit in the cargo area at the very back.

yup... i remember fondly our old dodge coronet.  we would race out to the car so we could be the one who got to ride on the shelf behind the back seat under the rear window.  then when we got bigger our family had a couple of station wagons which technically had plenty of seating, but we usually had it folded down and the boys would just sit in the cargo area.  it was so much easier to get a big family around before all this safety stuff came around.  since my fam had 5 kids and most of the time 3 of them would have needed to be in car seats i don't really know if we ever could have all gone somewhere together in one car.

i am glad this one is what it is and didn't take a turn for the worse showing exactly why they call him redball.

I was thinking about that one for old time's sake but decided that if I'm going to overpay to see one of these psuedo-punk bands that I used to listen to I'd rather go see Rancid next month.

I don't know if you ever listened to Propagandhi, but if you did they're playing The Door in May.

And I'm all over that one.

if i had known about rancid that might have been the way i went since i have never seen them live and i have seen the offspring a couple of times.
i have heard the name propagandi before but never really listened to their music.  i will have to check them out.
