From the Auction description...

You can put the Wicket in the position that you want.

Lumat, remember, this is NOT a realdoll. ;)

Nice pickup!  I'd recommend looking into ways of conserving the latex parts of the costume.  From what I've read, there have been problems with original Star Wars & Alien costumes deteriorating over time.

And to the unmarried guys out there - wife & kids trumps Star Wars anytime.

Landed on my desk today.  I've only peeked into the box, waiting to get home to unwrap and display!

I read Next by Michael Crichton last night and what a read!

This is one of the few books that I have not been able to put down, resulting in 4 hours of sleep last night.

Crichton's latest work deals with the ethics of genetic manipulation, as well as the legal implications of genetic research.

Unlike most novels that approach their plot in a direct manner, "Next" has several storylines that approach the topic obliquely before being unified (somewhat weakly) at the end. A note to the sceptics, if you didn't find any part of Jurassic Park believable, Next will stretch your sense of belief far beyond the breaking point.

Next dovetails nicely with Crichton's body of work pertaining to bio-engineering and remains topical. From "The Andromeda Strain" to "Prey", "State of Fear" and "Jurassic Park", Crichton's work continues to be speculative morality tales for the twenty first century.

It all balances out.

Sure I paid $210 for a Mint loose shuttle and $100 for a Mint loose never played with Y-Wing.

BUT, I've managed to buy 2 A-Wings in the last few years for $50-$70 each.  And one of these days I'll get around to picking up a loose skiff.

One item that's still hot though is the Sandcrawler.  Loose or boxed, it's still commanding a premium.

Just put the cash aside, something will crop up.

That's probably your best option if you're holding out for Vlix.

How about going for an unpainted micro run?  Those can be pretty attainable and affordable if you leave out the unproduced ones.  They don't take up a lot of room and can display fairly nicely.

Don't forget about the Droids Side Gunner and ATL Interceptor!

I usually lump those in with the minirigs.

I've got a small sub-focus going on the mini's right now including some protos.  If I get around to it I'll post some pics of those.

As for the production, I'm debating on how far to go with them.  If the Uzay MTV-7 came up I'd have to give some serious thought to picking it up, same with the Ledy MLC-3.  I've got a few bi-logo / tri-logo boxes and most of the Canadian - Still Looking For The Canadian MTV-7!!!!

I'm very much regretting the fact that I sold all my U.S. boxed ones in 2001. :(

Unfortunately this one is half built / half broken when I got it.  I've never done the rocket thing though.

The slicks I have were most likely sent out to newspapers.  When Fox wanted to run an ad, they could specify what size ad to run.  Full page down to miniscule.  They'd be waxed or glued onto the layout boards and then the film would be shot and plates made for the web press.

Thanks for the heads up on the pic, Dale, fixed it!

In my never ending searches of obscure categories I picked up some ESB Ad Slicks. $21 for 17 sheets.

Images are thumbnails - click to open a larger image in new window.

I thought I'd share these first here.  The last image has the footers for the ad.  Those ovals would be cut out and pasted up in the white space under the above ads with the theatre information and showtimes.  I really love stuff like this as I was doing manual pasteup for university newspapers back in '93/'94 back when laser printers were 8.5" x 11". (and 300 DPI to boot)

I've got similar weapons.  I have an almost completely translucent Stormie rifle Jason, and a Jawa gun.  They aren't repro's as far as I can tell either, showing none of the signs, so I'm guessing they're just a different mix on the plastic used in the production process.

Would you look at that, a Green Torso Chewbacca to go with your green limbed Chewie.  I may even bid. ;)

I had a utility belt that didn't last very long, the Stormtrooper rifle, and a Knockoff glow in the dark "light sword" that I was lucky enough to find from a local seller this year.

I've managed to pick up a few nice samples of the boxed weapons excepting the 3 position laser. :(

Han Pistol

Inflatable Light Saber

Return of the Jedi "The Force" Lightsaber

Bootleg Canadian Lightsaber

Knock Off Glow in the Dark Saber
