Shadows of the Dark Side / Re: TRU "Battle of Endor" Pilot 4-packs

I see over at RS, the A-winger looks like a Female pilot.... :)

Was anyone else hoping they'd make Leia?
I was. Very much want that version. :(

Gives me hope that when we finally see an updated Jango/Boba, they might finally have articulated wrists, something they've always missed. Look forward to more pics.

The Vintage Collection / Re: 2010 Boba Fett Mail-Away Offer?

Actually that Rocket Fett idea just hit me like a bomb. Last issue of Previews magazine showed the cover for Toyfare magazine #153 with the line Hasbro Star Wars exclusive: the figure 30 years in the making...
been pondering that for 2 days, but a rocket Fett makes total sense. What Y'all think?

Got these today, 2 of each. Wonderful choices(Bit so-so on the Spacetrooper) and really great use of parts and spectacular paint jobs, really good. Poped a second Jaina head on a female X-Winger, so got that covered. Used the spare Jacen body with Comic Lumiya Lukes head for a different outfit. A spare Whipid and Togruta won't go astray either. :)

Just to clarify, so my blood pressure won't skyrocket, you mean you got these IN THE MAIL today, right? You didn't just walk into Walmart and see them on the pegs or anything did you?

Did you? :o
No, sorry to confuse, but these are available at an online store in Australia. Had them on preorder and got a shipping notice last week. I even wrote to them to check it was this wave, and obviously it was. A few Aussie collectors have gotten these. This despite the fact that retail stores are only just getting TPM  ??? Normal retail is way dead over here.

The Legacy Collection / Re: More from TFU - Rumors/Speculation
« on: December 14, 2009, 08:16 PM »
These would of been tooled up months ago, when most of the figures would have been a separate wave for this year. There won't be any figures representing the expansion game or especially the just revealed sequel, although I'd hope to see something farther down the track. Hasbro should really be jumping on the Video game bandwagon, and try to release figures for whatever current game is released (althought hat didn't work out to swimmingly with the first TFU wave  ;)) Who wouldn't buy figures coinciding with The Old Republic?

Totally Gobsmacked by this answer of at YAK concerning this missing accessories in the MQ Boxsets
3: Since their reveal at SDCC, collectors who missed out on acquiring all of carded TAC McQuarrie Concept figures were overjoyed at being able to fill those holes with additions of the McQuarrie Signature Series boxed sets to their collections. Now that they have been released, those same collectors are in a state of disappointment as many of the accessories have been left out, leaving Jedi without the lightsabers, holsters without blasters to fill them and alternate head sculpts to never be displayed. What is the reasoning behind the short change considering the missing parts exist? Was it a costing issue? If so, why then were some of the figures repainted slightly from their original releases?

A3: The paint differences were not deliberate.  Nowadays, when we re-release figures, the factories have to create all new spray masks for figures if the figure has been out of production (as all of the McQuarrie figures had been).  As such, some differences, even if subtle, resulted.  This was not intentional.  Regarding the accessories, we are baffled ourselves as to why these were left out as the intention to was re-release the McQuarrie figures exactly as they were originally released. However, at this point there is nothing we can do, since we did not indicate on package that they come with anything beyond what is shown in package.
Baffled is their answer. Baffled. Who is running the show over there?

Got the loose figures from the upcoming Walmart sets I wanted:
Plour and Dllr (both great) Rom (great head sculpt, looks very much like Tagge, body is awful-a mishmash of Sunbers legs and Ozzels! top painted bottle green with a heavy dark wash, made me sick in my mouth a little) IG-97 (Eh, not a uninteresting figure, same body as Geonosis commander, very stiff joints) And General Weir (glad to have him to lead my evo Storm commandos, but he suffers from bad pin-hotheadedness) . Not a great bunch altogether, but more Rogues is always good.

Where did you manage to procure all of those? eBay?
Yeah, an ebay seller called Tunghori from Hong Kong.

Got the AT-ST from Hong Kong. Very nice but like alot of new vehicles could do with a paint wash. Still very nice.
3 Snowspeeder Lukes' and they are sensational. Head is Ball-jointed, and perfectly fits the Lumiya comic pack Lukes' head, as well as the comic pack Wedge. Hard to find any fault with this guy, only he makes Janson's sculpt look out of date after less than a year... ::)

Wasn't Hasbro saying how happy they were with the success of these a year ago. What the frig happened. The upped the price so were to get more new and articulated figures. Now there impossible to find in the States, dropped as a line altogether over here, and a reissuing the lousiest choices. Add to that a few new packs which again have nothing but repainted friggin clones. This was a great source of EU, but I think it'll be dropped midway through next year. Sales, y'know and all that  ::)

I wish they had gone to realistic too, but oh well. I've grabbed Ahsoka, Commando Droid, and Argyus and find them passable. I've also customized an Obi-wan to a more realistic version, based, I think, from a recipe Chewie did  :)

Can't believe Sandtroopers posted that last question, about the Organas:
QUESTION:  Now that  Hasbro has "supposedly" went around to some stores in some areas and removed the "peg warmers" of Yarna, Trinto Duaba, etc. - how long will it be before we can expect those figures to ship in the Legends line?

ANSWER:  It is not "supposed" - we *did* have our legions of retail folk pull back a number of slower moving figures including Yarna, Ak-Rev, the Organas, and Cantina aliens in order to remove them from retailer inventory and stimulate shipment of new waves. They are being destroyed and will never ship, in any form, again.  Was the comment about Legends just poking fun, or did you think we actually repacked poor-selling figures onto new cards?
 Man that shows some Balls...
