Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Walking Dead
« on: December 6, 2016, 06:25 PM »
I figure Negan's created an environment where everyone is in self-preservation mode. Within his group, those high in the pecking order don't want to risk being on the outs if he's removed so they help maintain Negan's order. I imagine Dwight and his kind have engendered a lot of animus and would be pitchforked once the status quo changes. And those who have a lot to gain could be fearful of retribution by loyalists. And some just might be content with the oppression  because outsiders who have to provide protection payment have it worse.

Ditto with "Spencer's a d!ck".

Hahaha. Ain't that the truth. I so wanted to buy something, but after 15min, I gave up.

The Black Series 3.75" Figures / Re: Walmart Black Series 3.75" Wave 7

On my personal list of 1st World issues, this Black Series Walmart exclusivity has just surpassed "shortage of CoffeeMate mocha creamer at the grocery stores". (Emphasis on BS.)

I figured with fewer outlets, there'd be more deliveries per store even if overall numbers were lower. And an online presence would mean I didn't have to make extra trips to Walmart to compensate for not having to visit other  brick-and-mortar. Aside from one bountiful visit, it's been slim pickings.

Dear Santa at the end of the annual Macy's parade that ushers in the yuletide season,  please let my dreams of a black series Christmas come true. Lightly smite the powers that be at Walmart and Hasbro so they see the error of their ways. They make more products. We spend. They move into bigger mansions and drive more exotic cars. And Tunghori profits from his gray market enterprise. Everyone wins.

[And just my luck -- wrong thread.  :( ]

Disney Parks Droid Factory / Re: Disney Star Speeder 1000 playset

Always two, there are. Been waiting for the updated version and came across it accidently when I was looking for the holiday droid on the Disney Parks app. $75 smacks doesn't seem unreasonable with pricing of vehicles now. Glad  I didn't bite on the original on ebay/non-affiliated Disney resellers when it hit $110+.

Hall of Justice / Funko's 3.75" Suicide Squad

Kinda surprised I haven't see this topic yet. These are on pre-order at several sites. Joker and Harley in their main costume are apparently exclusive to the Funko unboxing and, for now, can be had pretty cheaply on ebay.

Similar to Game of Thrones, the head sculpts look good. We'll see how the actual product turns out.

If nothing else, it's more custom fodder.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One "FORCE FRIDAY" Official Thread...
« on: October 2, 2016, 07:21 PM »
This worked out pretty good for me. Logged onto on Saturday a.m. and picked  up the u-wing, 4 figs and TFA blu-ray, which I had not yet bought. Used Target's $25 off $100 FORCE coupon. The u-wing was already on sale for about $45, so combined with the coupon, I got it for a good price.

Hit Target around 11a on Sunday. Low and behold, they had the 3 x 2-packs; a lone Sabine (i had one in my cart on but it became out-of-stock when I checked out); and a couple of other wave 1 figs. Toss in the Striker and it was enough to use the FORCE25 coupon for $25 off.

Stopped by TRU. Hera's A-wing scanned as BOGO 40% off, so I grabbed both. I'm trying to nudge my youngest niece into SW so I'll offer her one.

It might sting a bit when the credit card bill comes, but I'm feeling pretty good now.

Online? Last wave? Geez, I need to start taking gingkoba 'cause I have no recollection of how I even got Ashoka.

Now that I think about it, I probably don't have Ackbar either.

The more my brain is exposed for the Swiss cheese it's become, the better this wave is turning out to be.

I must've missed the ERG the first time around since I don't recall the 2nd helmet and shoulder pads.

Here's hoping Hasbro re-releases the figures that were hard to find during their original release.

Rogue One / Re: Rogue One Imperial AT-ACT Set

I can't help but feel they looked at Sphero's BB-8 last year and jumped on marrying a phone-based controller with one of they're toys. The size and gadgetry just make it too expensive. The stiff-legged movement almost 20 years ago with Galoob's Action Fleet-sized $20 remote-controlled AT-AT walker was acceptable; on a $279 toy in 2016, it's half-assed. (No doubt that integrating movement to knee joints would have bumped up the price.)

Maybe they'll re-release with articulated knees minus the electronics.

I love the design of the ship. As for the toy, I'm not bothered it's under-scaled since it's a nice representation. Yeah, it would've been cool if the nerf launcher was detachable so the compartment can double as the cargo hold. On the bright side, foam missiles reduce the risk of blinding my nephew.

When I shoot, you try to catch the nerf in your mouth, ok?

Other Toy Lines / Re: ReAction Lines

Unexpectedly finding the landstrider made my day. I hope the Garthim/winged Kira NYCC exclusive will also be shared and just as easy to find or order.

Pics are up. Me likey. Don't remember where the droids are from, but paint schemes are very nice.

what more do collectors really want from the 5POA TFA line?

I'm a sucker for aliens and want to see more of the boozers from Maz's speak-easy. That funky retro droid with spikey head would be cool. And of course, abandoned child Rey.

I enjoyed reading her posts.

The one that stands out and still makes me smile was her relaying when her toddler son, out of the blue, began threatening the butcher (or someone at the grocery store). Horror gave way to bemusement when she realized that her son was mouthing words from Dr. Evazan's lines.

I see some on eBay and the facial paint apps really pales against the samples. If these are an indication of the run, it would be a disappointment.
