That initial batch came and left real quick and I haven't seen a refresh since. If you see the foam role play battle-axe hanging on the pegs then you can bet the figures made an appearance already.

Found some 3.75" wave 1 at Ross today.

$7.99 - Bolg/Gandolf
$6.99 - Bilbo/Gollum, Legolas/Tauriel, Kili/Fili

$14.99 - (I think that was the price) Dwarf multi-pack

NECA's kicked ass on this line. Not into buying a scale other then the 3-3/4" otherwise I'd be all over these. I did get the predator hound 'cause that actually works well as a beast in my little Star Wars world.

Would love me some well-made Dr. Who figures in 3-3/4" 'cause... well, Jenna-Louise Coleman is smokin'.

The toys were shown at the London Toy Fair at the end of January. Here's someone's youtube vid of the various lines.

a few pics of the 3-3/4". http://www.doctorwhotoys.net/news.htm

The Dalek and Cyberman look worthy of being displayed next to Hasbro's SW. Not so the the humans. The face sculpts are decent but the rest of the body lack the "life" that Hasbro's able to inject in SW. They are about on par with Playmates 5" Star Trek.

Haven't read if these will hit brick-and-mortar in the US.

5 SB and 2 WS championships in the last 3 years, and not one of those lessen the sting of the loss.

As for the outage...  Components wear out and fail. I'm sure they'll do their investigation, and if they conclude the breakdown happened because of shoddy work or maintenance wasn't kept up, then maybe someone will have to answer for it. Otherwise, shtuff happens.

Oh, yeah -- Wow, Beyonce's still hot.

Kinda like a komodo dragon's saliva. Gotta figure a decaying corpse will have all sorts of septic bacteria in its mouth. Could be that the non-fatal bite that eventually kills has nothing to do with the zombie pathogen.

Joe Defender / Re: BBTS Exclusive 7-Pack Battle Packs

Came across the Resolute battle sets at Ross today. SF Bay Area. $16.99/pack.

My Joe purchases are pretty much for the occasional custom fodder when they're on clearance so I never checked these out online. Am surprised they're based on an animation series since the face sculpts don't look cartoony at all.

Would've been nice if Scarlet's noggin wasn't so big, though.

Hope I didn't post this in the wrong thread.

Picked up Tomar-Re with the scorpion thingy and singles of Sinestro and the toad looking lantern -- Mr. Green or something.

Nice custom fodder as Star Wars denizens.

I picked up a handful and will probably get the rest eventually. The best one is Marty. How cool is that? A figure of a little person with a Chinese hat-wearing monkey as an accessory!

Sao Feng is nice, though I wish they didn't give the robe a wind-blown look. The one in the deluxe pack is nicer. And the cannon looks sharp. Overall, the deluxe this go-around is better than previous ones. The Swann figure makes a perfect dignitary for those wanting to populate their Star Wars dioramas.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: radio stations changing format
« on: March 2, 2007, 03:13 AM »

I checked again just a few minutes ago, and the station has changed formats...to modern country.

The funny thing is that less than two years ago that station switched to the "whatever" format from country because country wasn't working.

But I hear, ya... It was out of the blue. No indication at all. Weren't they even running promotions for an upcoming concert? Maybe the station continues on HD radio.

Guess I need to reprogram my presets.

I was driving to work and tuned in to the station in anticipation of what came on at the end of the countdown. Nothing against country, but I changed the preset once I realized the change was real.

The newest wave with the preview figures were out at Target today. I didn't see the Asian pirate. Keira Knightly's masscara is running and something with the molding process makes it look like she's sporting a scar on her chin.

There's one new Depp figure. I believe the Turner and Jones figures are the same as previous releases but with different accessories in addition to the plastic coin.

And these rang up at the $2.99 sale price!

I still have my vcr but haven't recorded any programs in maybe 10 years. The box has been rarely plugged to the outlet in the last 8 years.

Mold developed in a whole lot of my tapes so I chucked most of them. There are several that I plan to crack open and clean, at which point, I'll still need the vcr so I can transfer them onto my computer.

Chap Mei wins hands down when you consider the whole "more bang for your buck" theory.

My sentiments, too. The value isn't as apparent when they're sold through TRU (partnered with Animal Planet) or through K-Mart. But through Big Lots, you can pick up a wide assortment. (The Knights set sucks, though.)

Not a fan of the Corps. Several years ago I did pick up some Space Corps. The helmets looked like they could be used for Star Wars trooper customs.

They have this new policy that they won't take ANYTHING back without a receipt or gift receipt...
it's totally the suck!

Did you buy it with a credit card? Maybe TRU can look up the purchase that way. They do at Target.
