Hey all, glad to be aboard!  A couple of you might recognize me from or maybe my own (new) trading board: The Star Wars Collector's Marketplace.  Stop in and check it out when you get a chance.

I'm mainly collecting POTF2 items, but have lots of stuff from E1, POTJ, Saga, etc...  Well, I'll keep this brief and see you on the boards!

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Mail Away A-wing Pilot?
« on: July 13, 2004, 08:47 AM »
I don't think the seller was trying to scam anyone, he/she just didn't know any better - probably got the A-Wing Pilot in a batch with the mail-aways and figured he was a mail-away also.

If he was claiming it to be some über-exclusive mail-away figure and asking for a pile of money I'd be more concerned.

When in doubt, ask questions...

Culver's rocks, they've got really good burgers too.  Unfortunately they don't have anything on a stick and only some items are deep fried...

The Original Trilogy / Re: Classic Trilogy DVD Release!
« on: July 7, 2004, 05:16 PM »
Lucas & Co. are typically pretty tight-lipped about what's going on.  I don't doubt tha the photo above is legit, nor do I doubt there has been other changed.  When they released the Trilogy on VHS they said it would be the last chance ever to get the original version.

I personally don't care if they make some tweaks to the films so long as they undo that crap where greedo shoots first.  Han Solo is a smuggler and a scoundrel.  He shoots that b@stard Greedo first and that's all there is to it!

I had Hyperspace for a while for the Cargo Bay search, but it wasn't really worth the fee so I let it lapse when the Fan Club merge thing happened.

If you're actively watching all that stuff it's probably worth it, but there's not really much there that can't be found elsewhere after a little while.

I don't need to pay a premium for the privledge of knowing first...

No doubt!  I've forked over enough cash to Uncle George and he owes me, big time!

I want George to come over, cook some dinner, and tell me stories about Jedi all evening.  It's the elast he could do...

Power of the Force 2 / Re: What's the figure you hate the most?
« on: July 7, 2004, 01:22 PM »
I have to go with Monkey-Faced Leia as the worst figure.  The likeness absolutely sucks.  I bet Carrie Fisher winced when she first saw it.  There is a similar thread at where it was mentioned that the figure looks like Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  You make the call:

R5-D4 might have been okay if they'd made him "normal" like R2-D2 rather than putting that hokey Concealed Missile Launcher in there.  I didn't care for how they sort of made stuff like this up.  They did the same in the Deluxe line with Boba Fett, Han Solo, Stormtrooper...  A license to make Star Wars toys is not a license to just start making things up and slapping the Star Wars name on it.

The "buff" look was pretty dumb, and it took them a while to finally give it up, but you have to remember that at the time this was a brand new line of toys and they were trying to capitalize on the popularity of things like Power Rangers and Spawn.  I think they were going for a comic book feel to the line...

POTF2 AT-AT rocks!

eBay is pretty much the barometer of values for Star Wars stuff.  Look your stuff up in the completed auctions there and you'll see what they're selling for.  Forget using a price guide...

Power of the Force 2 / Re: Opinions on Rebo Band and Rancor
« on: July 6, 2004, 01:12 PM »
The Max Rebo Band Pairs are pretty cool and the Rancor looks real good, but he doesn't stand like he should.  I think more figures have become "battle damaged" by the POTF2 Rancor than any other...

Hey Hasbro! / Re: do not need more REHASHES!
« on: July 6, 2004, 01:01 PM »
I'm more into the POTF2 stuff so it doesn't affect me so much, but ReHashbro's recent (lack of) efforts are pretty pathetic.  Who wants to buy a line of figures where 90% of them are rehashed stuff from previous lines?  Sure, the packaging looks real nice, but c'mon!

If they really want to rehash something, I'd like to see them rehash the original 12 in a multipack.  Now that'd be cool.
