Say my name and I suddenly appear, well maybe not suddenly.

Always nice to stumble upon someone complimenting my site and the support is extremely appreciated.   Good to see you Blaster, I haven't been around ADC much lately, hope all is well.

LEGO / Lego Star Destroyer question
« on: May 3, 2005, 04:10 PM »
Well, I finally did it, I ordered the Lego Star Destroyer from Lego.

I was wondering,  Does anyone here know of a good collector display case to use for this item?  I'd hate to have it sitting out collecting dust.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: battle droids = terrible
« on: May 2, 2005, 05:08 PM »
I was very disappointed in the Battle droids.  I bought 10 of them when they came out and now I have ten piece of crap figures that I find lying around my toy room because they can't even stand on their supplied display piece.

I'm not too happy with the Super Battle Droids either.  How about a little articulation?

Saga Collection '06 / Re: 2007

Is anyone else afraid of what Hasbro might do with the line if we do indeed get 3D movies? Looking at what they did with GI-Joe, I wouldn't be suprised if the normal 3-4 inch line was put on hiatus aswell.

March 12th, 2007
Hasbro updates today informing us that the Basic figure line has been put on permanent hiatus to make way for their new Total Force 8inch figure line, offering
mechanized battle attack and force speaking action. These figures will retail for 19.99 at all brick and mortar stores everywhere!

Let's keep in mind that Hasbro has brought Joe back, even if it is only direct internet sales, they claim they will let it get as big as the fans support it to.  Imagine being able to buy 24 of an army builder figure without driving to 10 different Targats and Wlamarts.

We'll see what happens but I think Star Wars is safe from anything like you suggested.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Bonus Clone Troopers!
« on: May 2, 2005, 04:56 PM »
It's good business, if there was a clone with every vehicle, it would promote troop building and troop build must be good for business.

Now all we need to do is to convince Hasbro to double production and distribution on clones so I don't have to hunt for them.

LEGO / Re: A little Imperial action
« on: May 2, 2005, 04:26 PM »
Holy crap, that's a sick display there Eric!  :o  Reminds me a lot of Niub Niub's famous diorama with the 4" figures (that he brought to C3).

So how'd you amass so many Imperial figures like that?  I assume you haven't bought those all in sets, but are rather getting them individually...

I love the hangar wall too, the gun turrets on the outside of it, and the railings/balconies up on it.  Does the wall extend along the sides of the diorama as well, or is it only the one wall?  How long'd it take you to put the whole thing together?

I take it you don't do any customizing with the figures though, right?  If so, you need to whip up some Imperial Dignitaries to complete the scene.  ;)

Great, great stuff.  Keep 'em coming!  8)

Although this was my first day collecting Star Wars Legos, it's not my first Lego set.  A few years back I used to build Lego Castles in huge scale, we're talking 7 or 8 square feet.  The parts are easily compatible.

Here's a shot that shows the Dioramas surroundings.

I don't do any customes, yet, but that's certainly something I'd like to get into.

Mikey D is right.

Bet you he has a lot of Jedi Lukes that he has no need for.    That set was clearanced at KB 3 for $10.

I bought 20 of those sets at 3 for ten dollars and one Imperial inspection set.  The rest is all Castle and some town Legos that I've had for a long time.

I'm glad you guys like it.  I plan to expand on it and make it a little better.  THis was something that was thought up and executed, all in about half a day.

Thanks

Do the mini-ships look good next to the Lego Star Destroyer?

LEGO / A little Imperial action
« on: May 1, 2005, 06:47 PM »

Well, long story short,  I bought my first Star Wars Legos today and within a couple of hours I had to dig out all of my old Legos and went to work.

I am officially an addict and if you don't collect Star Wars Legos than you are missing out.  Here's a little somthing I wipped up today.

ENJOY!

Let me know what you think.

Toy Reviews / Re: AT-RT Review

I've seen people put articulated figures on this item and their feet can't touch the proper resting places.  I think they would have had to make a really long legged figure to fit this and be articulated at the same time.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: C3 Hasbro Q & A
« on: April 26, 2005, 12:33 PM »
If they don't do the twins in some form, I will quit.  With all the exclusive crap (no C3 Vader for me) and headaches with keeping up, they make it very easy for a lifelong SW fan to walk away.  "They're action figures not stand there and look at them figures?"  How about "They're just toys, people.  Not state secrets."

What I found so incredibly funny is that yet again at a Hasbro QnA attended almost exclusively by 30+ year old dudes was the "OK, we make these for KIDS" BS line they constantly throw out at us.  They once again made it a point that KIDS are #1 on their list...

THEN, they go and realease Collector Cases at Target

"So it turns out that the single greatest enemy to the Republic and the very future of the galaxy isn't the Sith. It's dust. The solution? Collector cases - only available at Target.

Protect your Star Wars collection from the elements with this five-pack of collector cases that perfectly encapsulate your Revenge of the Sith 3 ¾ action figures. Each of these durable containers is specially made for displaying your collection on shelves, stands or even your walls."

I can't wait to see the first Kid running down the aisle of Target going "mommy, mommy, can I buy this pack of 5 plastic cases!"   ::)

Maybe because they are Target exclusive means that Target actually gets the fact that only the collectors are spending the big $$ on this crap...

Jeff

This applies to my troop builder idea as well.  IF Hasbro makes these with kids in mind and at the same time realize that most kids never ever got to see the SA Clone or Clone Pilots from the AOTC lines then why don't they start over packing troop builders?  Do they think that inciting excitement over chasing figures is something that attracts parents to by a product for their kids?  No, it's a collector theory,  Make something that people want and slowly trickle more into the market causes people to buy more product in the long run.  How many Targets to you go to looking for a figure and how often do you just happen to walk out with another product.

I work in upper management for a retail company and we employ this exact tactic except instead of collectors, we get regular people to search for the newest thing and when the person can't find the newest thing we suggest them getting the next best thing (That has a higher profit mind you) It's sleezy but it works.  I don't make this policy, by the way.

I'm sure toy companies do the same kind of thing.

rather than thinking it's just another page/dispute in the EU as a whole...

As far as AT-AT's go, EU's claiming they were in the Clone Wars, just a slightly different design...  from what I recall anyway.  I know I saw them in some of the holo-report things in the FC mag, and some other things.  It's design is actually the final conceptual sketches of the AT-AT before the production look was finalized.  Very close to it, just slight differences...  more boxy.  Guess that's AT-AT1.0 and ESB one is AT-AT2.0 or whatever.

I have to kind of eat my words on this one.  I just realized that At-Ats made their first appearence in the Dark Horse "Star Wars"  Clone Wars comics, around issue 54.  Sorry

I think it's pretty cool that you'll get a chance to use a lightsaber, I wonder if that means that you'll actually be playing as a Jedi.  Something I always thought would be a great addition to the original.

I wish they would have done a little more with the Rebel Commando uniforms.  I truely doubt that just because they were green on Endor that they always wear that kind of Camo.  We don't were jungle camo in the desert?

You know, no offense to present company or anyone in the real world for that matter, but I'm really sick of them making games only for PC and then maybe if the games a hit giving it a Mac version a year or two down the road.

Now that I've said that.

I don't think we should be really bickering over the designs of these vehicles, this is a period game and it's supposed to take place in the beginning of the Galactic civil war, I'm open to the idea that a vehicle might look a little different at one time or another.  I was upset when I first saw the game because they were saying that this will bridge the gap between the Emperors rise to power and the Episode IV, so are they saying that as soon as Episode three ended AT-AT's just suddenly appeared in the Imperial arsenal?  I didn't hear any meantion of a technology system in the game either.  Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions.

I wish I saw your review before buying this game.  Just about everything you said is true.  It also could have used a larger selection of enemies.  The game is WAAAAYYYYY too short.  I think they were going on the premise that people would just buy this to play on X-box live and online communities (Like Halo).

What really amazes me, is for how long this game has been in the making, to have it come out and lack content is sad.

I wasted $50 bucks and I feel pretty stupid for it.  I'll try it online tonight and see if that's any better.

THis is the first time I've gotten a chance to look at this page.  Very nice stuff.  I'm really impressed.  I also had no idea that you had done so many Photo-Novels.
