Watto's Junk Yard / Re: "Office Space"
« on: September 19, 2003, 06:36 PM »
I think it's about as close to working in an office as you can get.  I can spto several of the personalities that inhabit my office, and that's what makes it so great.  I also happened to see it in the theater just after I'd been laid off from a job, and it rang VERY true.

Jeremy is one of the nicest guys on the convetion circuit.  I've met him numerous times, and he's been nothing but gracious every time.  He even joined some members of the NJ Star Wars Collectors Club for a breakfast engagement before his signing appearance at the most recent Chiller Theatre show.  A true gentleman if there ever was one.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: Batter up! The JD Baseball Thread...

As historic as it would be, I'm not quite sure it's in the cards for this year.  Sure, NY had the subway series, but the odds of two teams from the same city making it to the series are astronomical.  That, and the baseball realist in me doesn't see it happening.  But, I think that would be great for baseball.

I wish the Twins luck.  I know I'd rather have the Yanks facing them than the White Sox.  No offense, Scott.   ;D

You'd be going to a lot less if you just gave up the McFarlane stuff Nick :P

Prior to our EB's dropping toys last year, I would have had four more places to visit.  Too bad too, they were good for sports picks.

Tell me about it.  They had to release MLB7 and NFL6 at the same time.  Cripes!

My local run:

2 x WalMart's
2 x Target's
3 x KayBee's
1 x Toys R Us
2 x Comic Shops
1 x Suncoast
6 x EB/Gamestop type stores

Uggghhh!  17 stores

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Value packs
« on: September 18, 2003, 10:52 AM »
I would suspect that IF we get more of these value packs in the future, that we might get a green Clone Trooper Sergeant and another white Clone Trooper with Obi-Wan and Mace.  I can't see them issuing more red Clone Troopers.  There are plenty out there as it is.

As for the others, if they do them, I get the feeling they may pack in Super Battle Droids or Battle Droids with the Seperatist characters.  Just a theory, nothing more.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Trilogy out on dvd 2004?
« on: September 17, 2003, 11:19 PM »
I think most of that creature stuff is from "From Star Wars To Jedi".  There's a good deal from Jabba's palace in there.

I think there are also some bits of video that have been on the official site regarding the classic trilogy.  Those would be some decent add-ons, too.  I believe that there was also a fair ammount of extra material on one of the VHS editions of the Classic Trilogy that went into the Special Editions.  That could make it onto a 4th disc, as well.

As far as behind the scenes material, there is the documentary "From Star Wars to Jedi".  It was on VHS, but never on DVD.  It focused primarily on ROTJ, as it was a pretty good behind the scenes look at that movie.

I can also imagine that there are some other materials available.  Also, there's the potential of interview segments with the various actors and filmmakers.

However, I think we're still doomed to relying on bootleg DVD's for the original theatrical versions of the Classic Trilogy.  While the completist in me would like that, I can understand why we don't have it.  With the exception of Han shooting first, the Special Editions are superior to the theatrical releases.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Hot Dogs
« on: September 17, 2003, 04:57 PM »
When in Jersey, be sure to check out Callahans!  The best hot dogs I've ever had!  Might I add that they deep fry them?  It sounds weird, but they're great.  Positively awesome dogs!

My favorite toppings?  Hot mustard and onions in red sauce.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Favorite Place You Have Traveled
« on: September 17, 2003, 03:51 PM »
There's a few places I can rattle off:

Maui, Hawaii:  This place is paradise on earth.  Wow!  I usually don't go in for tropical locales, but this place was perfect.

Napa Valley, California:  Perfect weather, beautiful area.  And the best wine in North America.

Rocky Mountains, Colorado:  I was in the mountains just west of Pike's Peak (in the vicinity of Colorado Springs), and it was amazing.  Being at elevation was weird, but it was awe inspiring.  Especially this area of rock formations near Colorado Springs called Garden of The Gods.  Wow!

Got the Anakin & Lieutenant and Yoda & Commander value packs tonight.  I think it's kind of cool that they actually noted the ranks of the Clone Troopers on the bubble inserts.

I also have to wonder, how well will this Anakin fit into his Starfighter?

Other Toy Lines / Re: McFarlane Sportspicks

So, anyone find NFL6 yet?  There's some wacky pieces in this series, like a Falcons Brett Favre, Chiefs Rich Gannon, Panthers Stephen Davis, and of course, Dallas Emmitt Smith.
