It took a little while, thanks to either Canadian or US Postal Services, but it's finally done.  Thanks Brent!  And btw, he's a very good packer!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A morality question

I can't say for certain what I'd do in that instance.  I was faced with a similar situation not too long ago.  I look out for a number of things for some friends of mine.   One time, I found a Justice League Hawkgirl, and I knew a friend was looking for it.  So, I pick up that and something else, and head to the registers at my friendly neighborhood WalMart.  The cashier tries to ring Hawkgirl up, but it isn't scanning.  So, she doesn't even ask me a price, and just enters it at around $4.99.  I know something about toy lines, and that this figure should sell for about $6.99 or so.  But, she did this so fast, I didn't even have time to protest.

In my opinion, you should try to be honest as often as possible.  I think in the long run, it will pay off in karmic value.  Honesty will pay off more often than dishonesty.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Am I the only one...?
« on: December 28, 2003, 05:26 AM »
I've just got the one and I've put him through just about every pose imaginable.  I prefer him with the rifle, and I even gave him a lightsaber and a cloak and pretended he was Obi Wan for a while.  He's the goods.

This figure might be a great basis for a Clone Wars Obi-Wan in armor to go speederbike jousting, don't you think?  I actually thought that was a cool segment in the animated series.

Count other big ticket items on sale, too.  I scored some of Clone Wars basic figure wave 2 for $3 and change, Clone Wars army builders for $6 and change, and the Clone Wars Command Gunship for $20.98.  Target is nice!

Hope everyone is okay.  It's a good thing that epicenter wasn't 100 miles south of where it happened, otherwise things might've been a lot worse.

I can't really identify, since we don't have very active faults around here.  The slight tremors we have had I've managed to sleep through.  However, when I worked in Manhattan, I worked in a high-rise building on the 19th floor.  On occassion, we'd get strong winds hitting the building, and it would sway so much that you'd get disoriented and nearly sick to your stomach.  And this could go on for hours.  Ugh!  It was like being sea-sick on dry land.

Is the Ring Wraith you mentioned the Armored version of the Witch King?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: RUMORS FOR 2004!!!!!!
« on: December 22, 2003, 06:49 PM »
What's encouraging about Qui-Gon being listed is this:  it doesn't leave a Council member seatless.  We could get a standing robed EI Obi-Wan, as well as EII standing versions of Obi-Wan and Anakin.  Think of it like this:

EI Qui-Gon with Yoda & Ki-Adi Mundi
EI Obi-Wan with Plo Koon & Eeth Koth
EII Anakin with seated Shaak Ti &  Adi Gallia
EII Obi-Wan with seated Coleman Trebor & Saesee Tiin

I can't believe anyone thought that for a second.  A lot of Tolkien's perspective on "The War Of The Ring" came from his experiences in the first World War.  Frodo and Sam's relationship is based on that between an English army officer (Frodo) and his Sergeant or aide (Sam).  Both are usually from different social classes, as are Sam and Frodo.  However, their collective experience has drawn them together due to the horrifying circumstances.  That brings about a type of closeness that can't be explained to most people.  The only way I think you can even begin to understand that kind of close relationship without living it is to watch something like the HBO miniseries "Band Of Brothers".  Or, just read Henry the 5th's speech in Shakespeare's work on the eve of the English battle with the French at Agincourt on St. Crispin's day.

I like Ozzel, and I like Dengar.  Ozzel with choking articulation is sweet!  I can see a custom Captain Needa in myfuture.

I'll als admit, I like this Bossk.  However, I'm still of the opinion  that if there was going to be another Bounty Hunter resculpt in this wave, it should have been 4-LOM.  The POTF2 Bossk has held up much better over time than the POTF2 4-LOM.

I've seen an Aragorn/Gimli/Legolas 3-pack.  However, it was at a specialty shop, and I'm told it's an Australian exclusive.  Surprisingly, they only wanted $30 for it.  That didn't seem completely unreasonable, but it didn't call to me like it was the One Ring or anything like that  ;).
