Other Toy Lines / Re: Which is Your Favorite "Other Toy Line"?
« on: August 3, 2003, 01:13 PM »
Well, for me, obviously Star Wars is number one.  As for others?  I can't really rank them, but here they are:

Lord Of The Rings
Sports Picks (NFL, MLB & NHL)
Marvel Legends

I've gotten Plo Koon's cloak off.  Saesee Tiin's is a little stubborn though.

Hmm, I might have to see if I can find any Meijers stores on my way out to Chicago on thursday.  See if I can score one of these Red Wings three pack variants.

Put a softgoods cloak on the Mace from the Council Scene...NICE!  It's a little snug in the sleeves, but he can sit okay in it.

Also, I bought a slew of Episode I Yoda's when they were on clearance.  Mainly for the chairs.  I took off Even Piell's outer cloak, and the Yoda chair is perfect for him.

Oppo Rancisis is the toughest to get a cool pose going.  His tail isn't quite as flexible as I would've thought.  But, if you can pose it properly, it looks best wrapped around the base of the chair.  I only wish they'd made his head and torso a little bigger.  He seems a little too small there.

Next, the holo-projector in the Jedi can't tell who it is.  It's just a robed figure.  In fact, it's almost like a mini-mini version of the holographic Darth Sidious that came with Lott Dod and Count Dooku.

I got mine a week or so ago.  It was a new Target that opened up near me.

I want to see how well the Red Sox can handle the A's and Seattle's pitching in August.  That's gonna be the test to see if they can hang with the big boys in October.

They are, Chewie.  Although having Clone Troopers that can be used as both battlefield casualties and snipers is kind of novel.  But I agree...I like the version with the electro-binoculars better.

Heard the same.  I'm curious to see how they do Zep, especially Jonesy, since he was one of my main influences in learning to play bass.

Drat, and double drat!  I was hoping to get the Mon Calamari Cruiser this time around!

And not to leave out the fact that I never even saw the Republic Assault Ship wave, either.  Was that officially the last wave to make it to retail, or did the Jedi Starfighter and Homing Spider Droid make it out, too?

None that I know of  ;D

Back to the topic at hand...the 3-packs!  I was re-doing my Clone War diorama, and inserting my 3-pack Clones into the scene.  I found that the prone or sniper pose Clone Troopers also double well as Clone Troopers who were killed in action.  Thought it was interesting, at least.

They will....but not this year.  They're still too thin in the starting pitching department.  And pitching is what wins championships.

What color are your Sakic variants?  There seemed to be some confusion about that.

Cool for you, Morg!  I just got my Atlantic City exclusives today.  WOOHOO, I got another NY Giants football player as a Sports Pick!  And what was even cooler was that Todd Mcfarlane's dad was bagging up all of the figures for everyone waiting in line!

I admire your loyalty to the 21st Century line, Jesse.  However, the stuff doesn't sell that well by me.  I saw a bunch today, and a fair ammount of it was on clearance.

And here, that doesn't bode well.  I live about half an hour away from Toys R Us's corporate headquarters.  I also live within an hours drive of as many as 10 TRU's, and that's about how far all of the stores are from the HQ.  I hope they don't give up on 21st Century, because they do some great work.
