If anyone is interested, this entire wave is currently in stock over at Hasbro Toy Shop.

SW2009 = 10% off.  Not much, but it helps.   :)

I was trying that and two other coupon codes, and they wouldn't apply on my order.  I wonder if some items might be exempt from the coupon codes.  So I cancelled my order.

Saw this today at a mom & pop shop.  But at $69.99 it was too pricey for my tastes.  Plus, I've got some Target gift cards I want to put to good use.  So, I passed.

Found traces of this wave today.  Got all of the new figures minus the Gungan and Clegg Holdfast.  And the figures I got were definitely pretty cool.

I'm not crazy about how the case packs out though.  There are 6 new figures in the wave, and they're all shipping one to a case.  The rest of the case are a bunch of repacks on the new card.  Definitely fodder for asking WTF?!?!

Celebration V: Orlando / Re: The Celebration V Speculation Thread
« on: September 23, 2009, 11:04 AM »
Orlando has a lot going for it.  It's got LOADS of hotels.  The convention center is tremendous.  There's plenty of airlines that fly directly there.  There's theme parks for people who want to make their celebration trip an actual vacation.  It's very family friendly.  And believe it or not, Florida knows a little bit about air conditioning during the summer.

I think Orlando stands a very good chance of getting the show.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Star Trek

I saw that at Target, too.  And funny enough, one of the toy magazines just finally showed the next wave of figures for the Star Trek line.  I wonder if they'll see the light of day.  Especially since each figure has those pack-in parts for the Bridge and Transporter playsets.

Wonder if Kelsey Grammer will play a non-furry Beast...

I think they would have to totally recast the role of Beast.  And I'd definitely like to see him in his pre-fur days.

Have the WalMart exclusive packs been found yet?

The date that's shown on the Hasbro slideshow for these sets is September 1st.  But I find that really hard to believe because we've just been bombarded by new WalMart exclusives over the past few weeks.  And the best one, the AT-ST, hasn't even hit yet.  I suspect that the comic packs may ship at the same time as the AT-ST, which is slated for October 1.

I found one of these stores in a shopping center that used to have a KayBee.  It's a different location from where KayBee had been, but around the same ammount of floor space as KayBee.  But the stock situation is less than a KayBee store would've had.

The funny thing is that the location they're at used to be another toy store, albeit many moons ago.  Anyone remember TSW Toy & Sports Warehouse?

Hasbro has stated a couple of teams over the last few weeks that the Battle Packs will be reverting to repacks/repaints as opposed to new figures.  So I would guess it will be crap and we won't be happy :)

Hasbro has been somewhat contradictory on battle packs.  Just look at "Resurgence of the Jedi".  Those figures are all retooled.

Based on my conversations with them at SDCC, we're likely to see battle packs in either one of two formats:

-All figures are straight repacks.  There are the sets that will be designed for the"birthday gift" sale.
-All figures are slightly modified or packed with different accessories.  "Resurgence of the Jedi" falls into this category.
