I just opened the tank battle pack.  No sign of Henry's accessories.

Got the Tank battle pack today.  There were only two at the store I went to, and I got the one with the less egregious paintjobs.

Any kind of Star Destroyer set is almost invariably a Battle Pack.  What else could it be?

The Legacy Collection / Re: The Big Vehicles - Did You Buy Them?
« on: October 14, 2008, 10:19 AM »
I still see the Falcon on most of my toy runs.  But the most I've seen in one place lately is three.  And the AT-TE?  I haven't seen one in at least a few weeks.  Given the high volume of collectors around my area it's good to see that the demand is strong.

And I think that demand bodes well for large vehicles in the future.  Granted, the Falcon has an iconic status that's tough to match.  But the AT-TE really only had limited exposure before the current Clone Wars series and theatrical release.  It's good to see that the AT-TE is selling well.  I think part of that sales success story is the fact that it's a great toy.  Hasbro came up with some great play features that make it a lot of fun.  The motorized boarding ramp had more than a few people captivated at Toy Fair.

Now if the rumors of the Turbo Tank are true?  That could be very cool.  And I saw on another board that our trusty Rune_Haako suggested that the Turbo Tank be made as an R/C vehicle.  Talk about play value!  And given the size of those wheels on the Turbo Tank, it's something that totally lends itself to this vehicle.  And doing that would be something of a nod to the old Kenner Jawa Sandcrawler with it's 1970's tech R/C controller.  And the drive systems would probably fit pretty well in the Turbo Tank's sizable undercarriage.

Soooo...since the beginning of the thread here...RS has rumored the following:

- AT-ST
- Clone Turbo Tank
- E-Wing Starfighter
- Landspeeder
- Sith Starfighter
- Slave I
- Star Destroyer
- TIE Defender
- TIE Fighter
- TIE Interceptor
- X-Wing Fighter
- Rogue Shadow
- Clone Turbo Tank (ROTS)
- MagnaGuard Fighter (ROTS)
- Republic Tank Fighter (Clone Wars)
- Confederacy Tank Droid (ROTS)
- Wedge Antilles' Red Two X-Wing Fighter with Wedge (ANH)

Give me a break ::) ::)

It does eventually get to be like the case of the boy who cried wolf.  After a point you don't know what's legit and what is not.  And because in most if not all rumor report cases, the reader isn't privy to the sourcing.

Still, it does make for something to talk about on the message boards.  Perhaps that's the motivation for this?  And who's to say that some of the vehicles on these lists aren't Titanium renditions, and not versions for the 3.75" figure line?  At least a few of the vehicles on that list did wind up in the Titanium line.  The Rogue Shadow, most notably.

I've yet to see Henry Jones Sr at retail.  This pack might be my only shot.

That same part comes with the repacked Darth Vader from TLC wave 1.

Saw two of these today.  Very underwhelming.  Both sets are all previously issued figures.  Where's the incentive to buy these?  Oh yeah, there is none.

Removable panels would definitely be cool.  But the cockpit layout would still be significantly different from the OT version because of the gunner station.

I recall hearing that Hasbro conducted a focus group about the BMF at Comic Con.  They asked collectors what they liked about the BMF as well as asking what they would like to see done to improve the BMF.  I could only think of these things:

-The "Lando-vator"
-The electronics bay from TESB where Leia and Han smooch
-A passageway into the cockpit

New deco?  Honestly, I don't know what could be done deco-wise to make me want to buy another BMF.

I asked about this in the JTA Q&A's a couple of months ago when some of the initial Clone Wars artwork came out.  And I followed it up in  this JTA Q&A session.  Hasbro's response?

Quote
Q. We asked in a previous Q&A session about the Clone Wars era Y-Wing, and Hasbro's response seems to have been pretty positive.  Since that session, the DK reference book STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS - THE VISUAL GUIDE has been released and shows Anakin and Ahsoka in some intense action in a Y-Wing.  Does this give the Clone Wars Y-Wing a better shot at being in next year's vehicle lineup?  And if it comes to pass, how about a functional droid socket?

A. It does give it a better shot at getting made eventually. No word right now on timing. As far as a droid slot that would be a great idea, and a mandatory feature if such a vehicle did eventually happen.

I for one would love to see a Clone Wars Y-Wing.  It was one of my favorite OT vehicles, and I like the backstory on the ship.  This Clone Wars episode helped flesh out that backstory.

NICE!  A vast improvement over the POTF2 rendition of the A-Wing.

I was wondering when this was going to happen.  You had to figure that it would.  Especially in light of the rumored tour offers that were thrown their way, and apparently Plant shot it down.

Thanks for the offer Sal.  But I'll wait until I find one at a store.  I'm still hunting for the WalMart exclusives and the comic 2-pack wave with Thrawn.

I've found everything in this wave at brick and mortar stores except for Jodo Kast.  I'm a little surprised that this is such a popular figure.  I've only seen Jodo in stock at collector shops that are charging $12.  I won't pay such a ridiculous price.  I have a hard time paying $9.99 for a figure at KayBee after all.

Regardless of that, I picked up another Quad Cannon Clone so that I could finish off the RA-7 droid.  That's actually the best BAF droid of the bunch thus far.
