Hey Nigel!  Long time no see, mate!  Good to see you're still alive out there somewhere.  Miss seeing you around like the old days...

Ignore Dp there.  He's just one of our resident sourpusses.  Good luck with your contest.  Stop by and say 'hey' a bit more often, eh?  8)

I found the new TRU sets yesterday as well, and yeah, it's tough to stomach buying so many rehashes just to get one or two new exclusive figures in these things (just like the prior sets with the Shadowtrooper and Impy Astromech).  Ugh.  I actually haven't gotten around to opening any of my prior 2-pack sets yet (from the last several years), so I may do what CCG mentioned, and ditch a few of those if they're completely covered in one or more of the Cinema Scenes.  CCG, know of any differences between the Snowtrooper and Hoth Rebel Troopers?  I don't have my 2-packs nearby to compare.  I guess I'll try to dig them out..

Fortunately, I only collect the OT Galactic Heroes, so at least I don't have to hassle with the Naboo one.  Still screwed on the remaining sets though, it looks like.  Saved a few bucks with their 15% off coupon though...

Hopefully most folks are able to eventually get the Target sets for (at least) half off.  I know a lot of people around here were able to do that last time around, so that'd definitely help ease the pain a little if it happened with this next batch too.  Is there just one Jabba's Palace set, or are there two connecting ones like the Cantina?  I'm brainfarting on that right now, but I'm guessing it's just the one.

Did it expire on Saturday?

Yep.  It was good from the 12th to the 18th.  That coupon book Anthony mentioned has a couple nice coupons in it too, including the $5 off $25, but even better, there's also a 15% off coupon in there.  Not quite as good as 20%, but still better than we'd usually find from TRU.  I guess all my constant complaining in their online surveys that they didn't have any decent coupons (to negate their inflated prices) has finally paid off...  :P

Yeah, I think there are 12 of them (UGH).  Here's a pic of what I ended up getting:

For you Unleashed BP experts:

Are there 4 different 10-packs?  I only have 3 listed in my Checklist, but I'd swear there's a fourth one.

(3 months later)...  Nope, just those three, Jess.

Speaking of which, the three NEW (Death Star) sets are out now, as I came across the Tarkin/Luke & Han Stormie set at a SoCal TRU today.  Good thing too, since this line needed a breath of life in it.  Nothing new for quite some time now, unless you're a packaging completist and wanted the four recarded Order 66/Emperor vs. Jedi sets that were re-released last month.

Some decent stuff shown at C4 and Comic Con for this line, but I guess no one's stuck a recap in here yet...

I went back and forth on that thing down at SDCC a few weeks ago, but finally with just an hour to go on the last day, I totally wussed out and ran over to the MR booth and nabbed one.  Figured it'd be better to get one there in person to at least save on the shipping costs that I would've been hit with when I ultimately decided later on that I needed it.

You do realize that if you don't get it and Brent does that you'll never hear the end of it.   :D

That was my other reason for grabbing it.  At least this one shouldn't "yellow"...  :P

They're just now starting to trickle out, so I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't found the latest wave yet.  I only found my first two last week (AT-AT Driver and Duros sets), and found the other two today (IO & Logray).  Saw the newest wave at a couple WMs and Targets today, so both stores are getting them in now.  Loads of "new" stuff hitting Target lately.  I'm finally seeing a bunch of those old Snowtrooper sets (and the Bespin ones), which I don't think I ever saw at Target when they first hit last year.  Plenty for everyone to finally catch up with...  :P

Definitely digging the new four, especially with the background character factor.  Good stuff.

Some interesting choices out there (including a few pegwarmers?!).  Goes to show you the attention to detail that a lot of these other sites lack.  It appears that none of them are even aware that the EB Chewie is different than any other Chewies released to date, and may in fact be the best one of all.  Maybe I missed it somewhere in there, but that Chewie doesn't even seem to be in any other sites' Top 10 lists.  Considering that, despite it's first place finish here, it may not even make Hasbro's Final Top 20.  Mindboggling.  Considering some of the strange goings on in the poll over at GH, I suspect that they're going to wait 'til a few more sites chime in before they announce (manipulate) their Top 10 list to include some choices that weren't too well represented in the other site's results.  I guess someone who wants to spend the 20 minutes or so could easily calculate out the Final Top 20 once the rest of the sites have published their results.

So far, it looks like the Spacetrooper is the runaway winner here.  How the hell did that thing fare so poorly in the prior 'Scum Legends poll?  It must've gotten matched up against one of the top 2 or 3 early on in the bracket and gotten bounced.

My prediction for the Final 5 or 6 (winners) for Hasbro's poll:

1. Spacetrooper
2. Ephant Mon
3. Graxol Kelvynn
4. Zev Senesca
5. Shadow Stormtrooper
6. Commander Neyo

With notable favorites like Blue Snag and VOTC Stormie just missing the cut.  I'll be really bummed if Blue Snag barely misses his first ever shot at being a carded figure in 30 years.  >:(

Found the new Titaniums tonight at one of our WM's too, and like Michael pointed out, they were attached to the side of an endcap in one of the customary fancy black Titanium display boxes, and not mixed in with all the old Titaniums that have been hanging around on the pegs forever.

Couple more boring repaints to add to the mix, but like the V-Wing in the prior wave, at least we get something new in this one too, in the AT-AP.  I also found a lone orange B-Wing with this new wave, which I've only ever seen twice, and not for several months now, so that was surprising.  Still never seen a Plo-Koon Fighter with Hyperspace Ring though.  Anyone see those around at all?

Saw Poison and Ratt tonight.

Ditto.

I was actually too afraid to admit it here, but seeing as Rob's already paved the way, I guess I can mention it.  I won't mention all the other 70's/80's arena rock bands and 80's metal and hair bands we've seen lately though, lest I get tarred and feathered by a few folks here.  I definitely didn't see REO Speedwagon at the Ventura County Fair last weekend either.  :-X

It's really interesting to see the wide variety of choices in the poll so far:

1) Figures never on a basic card before from more expensive sets (Blue Snag, R3-A2, Zev, Wulf, EB Chewie, Paploo, etc.)
2) Army builders (VOTC Stormie, Biker Scout, Clones, etc.)
3) Hard to find figures (Sio, POTC, Ephant, etc.)
4) Pegwarmers "that I just never bought before" (the only poor choices in the lists, IMO)

As for me, I have plenty of every figure ever made on a basic card, so I have no need whatsoever for any more of those.  What primarily interests me, however, is getting "new" carded Legends figures that weren't ever available on basic cards before, whether they were in more expensive multi-packs (Blue Snag, R3-A2, Evazan, Wulf, EB Chewie, etc.), vehicle pack-ins (Zev, Dagobah Luke), or boxed/deluxe figures (Oola, Muftak, Amanaman).  In fact, those are my 10 choices right there, which unfortunately left no room for the OT army builders in the Tin sets that I'd also like to get a few more of for cheap.

But with the exception of #4 above, I can certainly understand and appreciate everyone's reasoning in their picks, whether they're trying to track down older, expensive HTF figures, or build up their armies some more, or just get some "all-new" carded figures that were formerly packed into older sets.  I definitely don't expect everyone to have the same tastes as me though, especially those who open all their figures and don't give a crap about adding a "new" carded figure to their collection.  But questioning people wanting to get former $20 - $45 exclusive pack-in figures for around $7 seems a bit odd to me, since many openers and carded collectors alike would dig getting many of those types of older figures on a $6-7 card for the first time ever.  FYI: Loose blue Snaggletooths from the K-mart Cantina set have been ending between $7 to $11 on eBay over the past few weeks (boxed ones are even more).  Add the ridiculous customary $5 shipping, and you're looking at a pretty good deal if you got one carded for just $7 in the Legends line.

Considering the high volume of re-releases Hasbro has pumped into their line in recent years though, hopefully they'll take a few additional hints out of these polls beyond just the 5 to 6 figures that win the Legends poll, and mix some more of these (intelligent) ideas into the basic carded line later on in the future.

EDIT:  I guess I'll throw some visual lobbying in here as well, since the clear-domed R3-A2 from TRU's Hoth multi-pack isn't a household name like some of the other contestants:

147
 1. Blue Snaggletooth
 2. Early Bird Chewbacca
 3. R3-A2 (Saga Hoth multi-pack)
 4. Oola
 5. Muftak
 6. Dr. Evazan
 7. Zev Senesca
 8. Dagobah Luke (TRU X-Wing)
 9. Wulf Yularen
10. Amanaman

Ah, shucks...  **blushes**

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone (especially Bob's), even you sarcastic bastards.  I guess since I'm always casually late to everyone else's birthday parties around here, it stands to reason I'd be a couple days late in replying to my own, eh?  :P

As Brent and Dale could tell you, gettin' old sucks.  But the older you get, the more senile your noggin gets, so I suppose the plus side is that I hardly even recall how the hell old I am anymore, so I guess it's not so bad (and shut up to you dumbasses who are about to shout 37 at me! >:()

Now chocolate cake for all!  I've had too much of it already, so pass it down.

Looks like someone at RS has connections - those SDCC presentation images are too clear to have not been taken directly from the original Powerpoint.

What, like these:P

(yeah, they'll give site's press members a copy of their PPT file used in the presentation if you ask for it now)

Jon completely saved my life with some stuff from SDCC that I probably wouldn't have been able to nab otherwise.  Thanks a million Jon.  I definitely owe you one, bud!!  8)
