Thanks Brent,
So far I think that if I do pursue some of the items I will just get the ones that are of intrest for now. I don't think at this point I will try to complete any runs. Unfortunatly the Clemens ones are of intrest since hes my favorite hurler. I do need to educate myself on the variants incase I ever run across any I can atleast use them for trade bait.  I never really new just how good the sculpts were before.

As far as helping me out with anything, how about just answering a few questions from time to time. I think I will be having a few of those ;)
And if any of you guys run across the McKenzie Brothers keep me in mind. Loose complete or carded I don't care. I saw those and gotta have them for my office at work. Beauty Eh. ;D  I know they aren't sportspics but close enough for me.

Hey guys.   I decided to poke my head in here. I am finally finding out how good the McFarlane stuff is.  I don't have much but the Slap Shot Hanson brothers got me looking at the other stuff plus the fact that KB is blowing them out at 40% off. I think this may be a costly venture ;D

Sounds good. Lets get the fig of the week going. I will try to contribute what I can.  What I really need to do is transfer my files I have at work to hoem so I have my resource guides. I have to much free time at work and a much better computer so I do most of my hobby research there ;D  At least I get paid to do something I have a passion for ;)

Fish feel free to start it off.

For me I can recall waiting by the mailbox for my Boba Fett to arrive. I agree I like the mailers for the memories although it is not a pursuit of mine currently. I also have saw those ebay prices. With those prices I won't be collecting the multi fig  boxes anytime soon.

The only figs I have in mailers are pretty common. I have a Fett, Akbar, emperor and R2 bagged.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Life Altering Decisions
« on: March 11, 2004, 09:05 AM »
You make decisions every day, some big, some little, some are important, others are frivalous...what do you think was the biggest decision you have made that has altered your life the most...

Well Scott I have often thought about past decisions and how they have played a part in my life or how it would have been differnt. For me I think the hardest decision I made was in 1993.  I was still in the Army doing a job that I feel I was made for. I was happy for the most part and had acomplished my goals I set for myself inside the military. I had a dangerous job but I was having the time of my life. Just after I returned stateside from Somalia I received a call from my mom. I could tell she was upset by her voice. My youngest brother was just diagnoised with leukemia. He has had a rough childhood with illness and had previously underwent open heart surgey when he was 5 to repair holes in his heart and has a learning disablility that basically left him at a 6th grade level. I knew that she felt that it was to much for him to overcome but she told me that it was treatable and I should stay in the service and finish out my time.
I will say that that was the first time I can remember that I actually sat down and cried. I just couldn't seem to talk about it to anyone so it kept eating at me. Eventually I made a decision to return home. My CO at the time understood the situation and based on my job and service record felt I paid my dues and helped me end my time early. So I was discharged with full honors and was allowed to come 6 months early.
It is a decision I have never regretted. I have often thought about how things would be had those events not taken place. Fact is I probably would not be here today if not for him. He is still fighting his battle. Some days are good others not so good.

He is the reason I am here at defender. He got me into SW during EP1when I had to make toy runs with him since no-one else would. So I started buying some and then dug out all my old stuff from my dads house. That lead to me searching the net and wala here I am.

But it is interesting to look at the chain of events of your life and see where it all leads. Seems sometimes that destiny takes over and you are just along for the ride.

Todd I agree. No added competition for the protos ;)  Networking is the best. Dale if your after anything specific feel free to drop me a line and I will help you if I can. Patience, set your limits, and keep searching. There is some good stuff out there. Figs are easier than vehicles. Believe me my landspeeders were a long time in the making to find them. I did see some mini rig protos recentlly, I beleive They were on ebay but make sure they are a trustworthy seller.
The newer stuff seems to me to be to readily avaliable to be worth pursuing with to much vigor. I only pick up things in my area of focus.

Anyway Dale I pmed you pics of the  Luke  :)

Ask and you shall receive.

Dale heads up I will be parting with a POTF Endor Luke firstshot very soon if your interested ;)  If you are you got first chance at it.

I agree that we need some more traffic in the vintage area and I am guilty of not posting much.  We could revive the fig of the week again. Any ideas?  Maybe not only pics but info on cardbacks errors and the like.

Todd nice caption under your av. check out my sig. ;D
