Thanks guys!

I bought my own Master Cases and landed an AT-ST Driver and a Rebel Trooper.

And the risers are indeed from Medicom's clear boxes.

It's probably the last time I buy a Master Case for awhile, though, as I would have lost money even if I had sold the chases.  In the old days, I was able to purchase boxes from Robby for $59 bucks a piece ($236 per MC) and be able to keep and complete a set while making my money back by selling the rest.  Now, it's three times that for the same number of figures and chases.  I have a feeling many of the sellers are sitting on their chases, thinking that their value is higher than current selling prices.  If Medicom doesn't lower their prices considerably, I think they will continue to find it difficult to find retailers who are willing to carry kubricks, leaving us to fight over the secondary market from dealer's who have taken a bath on their initial investment.

Moved some of the SW kubs from the towers to this new shelf.

Yes, I got the AT-ST driver in one case and the Rebel Trooper in the other.  I haven't opened up the third case, yet, however I believe the chases are split pretty evenly.

I ordered straight from Medicom, with a dealer discount of 22.5% off of the retail price, however with the unbelievably low US to JP currency exchange our WHOLESALE cost including shipping (which in and of itself was ludicrous) from Japan ended up being $725 for each of the Master Cases (or 181.25) we ordered.  Most expensive Kubrick release ever, by far!

I had a BIN with the original listing in the amount of 59.99, but before a JD boardmember could buy it, someone laid down a 1 cent bid.  So I just added the Han to the boardmember's current order and ended the listing.

And I thank you very much for that sir!  I'm stoked to have Han crossed off the list - My Luke Trooper has been incredibly lonely with an empty case awaiting his buddy.   ;D

You are very welcome!

I won the Anakin  for 104.00, Logray for 148.00 , and Yak Face for 124.50.  Ouch my wallet hurts. The weird thing is my max bid on Yak Face was 124.00. It said I was outbidded so I did not put another bid in. In the end, I only won 2 auctions. Then today for some strange reason I won it for the bid of 124.50. I never placed a higher bid. The auction ended and I lost. Not sure what happened here.Has this ever happened to anyone before. I 've been on Ebay for 11 years now and its never happened before.

Thank you.

I'm glad you guys were able to score some nice kubs last night.

Though it pains me to have to sell much of my top shelf goodies, every penny has helped to bring our new store, Super7 Florida, to life on August 29th.

Many here may recognize the S7 name by the magazine, books, toys, and artwork we produce along with being the official sponsor of the popular Skullbrain.org message board.

But we are also the guys producing the new Jumbo Machinder Stormtrooper (complete with rocket firing fist) in collaboration with Lucasarts and Kotobukiya of Japan.

It was tough keeping the news under wraps for so long, but those of you who are interested can read more about the new store opening on the 2nd page of Vinylpulse's SDCC coverage on its website.  CollectionDX also has a nice little write-up about yesterday's comic con unveiling of the new Jumbo Stormtrooper at the Kotobukiya booth.

I still have my very best, top shelf Star Wars kubricks safe and sound in my room, but lately it's been like an episode of survivor whenever a new bill arrives in the mail.

Wow, congrats on the scores, guys!

My L-slot is shipping from Japan today so I could be complete on this set by the weekend.

I will be sure to post pics of the Kubrick Fett family reunion!  :)

Incidentally, I am working on becoming a verified Medicom reseller through our new toy store in St. Petersburg, Florida.

So, if everything goes as planned I will let you all know.  I'm having to let much of my mighty collection go this week to help fund the venture, so those looking for some crazy scores

know where to look.

Prices on Yahoo Japan Auctions are not much better.  The most recent J-Slot Chase sold for 37500 Yen, which is over 400 bucks US.

My thoughts are that most of the J-slot Chase Master Cases were those released at the Parco Event (where I snagged 2 of them), hence the fewer numbers in shipped cases.

I just finished completing one full set of 9 figures by winning an unpainted rocket Fett on YJA for 19,500 Yen- which by the way I think is a steal for a 1/96 chase in this set.  I cannot believe how expensive this series was to complete.  These definitely aren't your father's Star Wars kubricks.  I would not be surprised to see prices for sets, unopened boxes, and chases to settle at over twice the cost of prices we've seen in the past.  Seriously, what a pain in the ass.

I was talking with another boardmember whom I hooked up with a basic set of 6 plus one chase yesterday and thought I'd relay my impressions of this whole fiasco here:

1.) First, for some reason Medicom more than doubled the wholesale price per box of 12 on this release.

2.) Second, Robby. jp (the wholesale company that most non-Japanese collectors used in the past) has gone out of business.

3.) Next, though the Project 1/6 store (the Medicom flagship) still has scores of every figure from series 10 for sale, two of the six figures from the Fett collection were sold out in two days (Both Mcquarries 1/12 ratio).  The release seems to be very popular in Japan and overall feels really small compared to others in the past!  (Though the chases seem to be packed completely randomly in the Master Cases this time which is a nice change of pace.)

4.) And finally, the Yen is so strong versus the dollar right now- 95Y:1$ versus 114Y:1$ on the previous OT set releases (series1-7).

I paid over 15 US bucks per figure at the Parco show in Tokyo, and over 500 US bucks total to secure just 2 total regular sets, and 4 total chases (2 Vintage and 2 J-slot rockets).  And this was after I found out which character boxes had the chases!  For a complete set in the past, I could purchase two master cases (equal to 8 boxes of 12 figures) for around 500 bucks total (or 62 bucks per box of 12 after shipping) from Robby and have a complete set (including 2 of the 1/96 chases) with extra basic sets to spare to help recoup most of my cash.  Now it would cost me over 1200 bucks to do the same thing.

Unbelievable!

Was in Tokyo over the weekend and bought some boxes of the Fett collection.

Still scratching my head on why one of my McQuarries has the vintage gun?!?

The latest version of the Super7 magazine has a nice little Medicom/kubrick SW checklist if you want one on the cheap.   ;)
