All, I am not sure how true it is, but I thought I’d pass it on anyway.  Word is.......................

California Highway Patrol will launch 30-day speeding ticket frenzy in California starting January 25, 2006. The state estimates that 22 million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets.  3 million will go to pay California Highway Patrol officer overtime.  There will be 90 CaliforniaHighway Patrol officers on duty at all times patrolling the 7 freeways. They are the following: 73, 55, 133, 241, 57, 5, 605, 10, 60, 210 freeways.     
                                                                     

Now, 7 mph above the limit can justify a ticket, and every California Highway Patrol officer is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 minutes.  They have issued 50 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they are bringing all their part-timers on full-time.


If you live or work in California and take one of these freeways, it's up to you how fast you are going when they do.
 

This is a test - by the CHP - to raise the extra funds for the state of California. The California State Legislators dreamed up this program to help close the budget gap.  So be safe don't forget speeding tickets are on you.

Just thought I'd start a thread here for folks to brag about their recent TSC buys. Similar to the episode three recent purchases thread that I like to view so I know when to start hitting the stores

I'm not a Target fan- this thread is for NON target fans. I am a collector so I do HAVE to shop there since I'm a completist and the BULLseye continues to over offer exclusives to try to pull you away from WM (in vain).

I 've shopped at many a Target over the years whereever I've lived. I now have 2 locally. Why does there customer service SUCK SO for Star Wars??

Things I've found out about Target are

-The managers and employees know nothing of the toy industry and really   actually believe the ratio of SW purchases is 70% kids/30% scalper/collector- not the other way around.

-The individual store manager/employees mindsets about MAKING A ******* SALE(the business that they are in) is 180 degrees out from Corporate employees

-I like how they removed the punch in store scanners capability to hinder making there own sales of collectable items

-the store is deceivingly pretty red and sparkling clean and comes included with employees that reflect preprogrammed responses like "what's on the floor is what we have" which is utter complete ********-oh really, the stockrooms empty then?

- I have to look around the store forever or hope the one or 2 quality employees that want to make a sale(duh the number one goal-falls in line with customer service) is available so can gets something that day or at least get a non-preprogrammed response.

WM haters can go to that respective thread. In my experience which is by the way a lot of years all over the US, WM dominates Target in stuff received by me to make a collection-I will overlook the dirty floors to speak to more helpful customer service to get me the product I want. Target in the last 3 years are throwing tons of exclusives(hence all the jokes) at us trying to pull us from other stores in vain.

New WM exclusives??? I was just surfing in the Walmart.com toy listing for Star Wars area. On page 4,5 they show these new "The Original Trilogy Collection" figures( 3 3/4") that WM says is a store exlusive- I'm positive they're not the "OTC vintage" line from last year. It looks like a SA line and the leia looked awesome IMO. The asking price was 9.99 I think and it said they will be on vintage cards. The tatooine Luke looked pretty good too.

I wonder why I hadn't learned of these yet to this point. There was no projected release dates but there are pics  

Since I was ..like 7/8 when ANH was released I just bought SW toys for play.

I'm wondering if there was any older veteran collectors out there (who were actually collecting the SW(not opening)) could tell me if Scalpers existed back then. I know there wasn't internet, so I'm wondering ...Did these geeks exist to pick up several copies of figs to resell them at comic book stores, consignment stores,  and flea market booths for a higher than store price(profit)?

I'm curious about this....

I don't understand how luke gets darker as the OT progresses. I mean look...he's white as a baby... then he's this white shirted,yellow haired crybaby, then a grey jump-suited-more brown haired thinking he's tougher type of guy
Finally, he's black clothed, arrogant..(hmmm like an early annakin?) really dark hair adult who chokes(see sith-hey they DID hold their throats) gammorean guards when they get in his way.

Then you have the prequels where Jedi wear warm brown robes and alot of white..the only dark clothed was..you guessed it annakin

even Obiwon has a dark robe in the new hope

 Anybody have "Emperor wave" extras?? I only saw this wave once and an "ebayer" I unfortunately know ran off with the unopened case before I could choke the bastard. My brother saw it in his hometown store and the fool passed on it, thinking they would be there for a couple of days. So then I told him to go get it and they were all gone- then I wanted to slap him around( IMAO what star wars does for me!!!)

still need the Emperor, tatooine luke, and the vader from this wave to complete my saga collection!
